IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Peter Young5 said:Regards,

In my experience, the subscription status is constantly stuck on "pending"—meaning the form hasn't hit the ledger—even though the client has already paid the sales tax. It feels like a genuine issue to me.🤔

I dealt with something similar once, so maybe I can shed some light on this..
it really depends on which month we're talking about, who the taxpayer is... are we looking at quarterly filings, monthly ones, and honestly, how much does the clerk actually know about what they're doing? why?

I had a situation where a client had a subscription filed on the 20th $0.00, but the clerk went ahead and processed the charge for that exact same amount... it caused a total mess between us. Basically, she was trying to tell me that the subscription amount was identical to the liability, so the guy still owed an extra 20 $0.00...
so, there are way too many variables at play here...

Shoot me a DM and I'll walk you through the details.🙂

Peter Young5 said:Hi there,

I just filed my first sales tax return for a new client, and everything looked perfectly fine during my initial review... yet here we are, two months later, and the filing is still just sitting there pending processing. I have absolutely no clue why it’s stuck in limbo like this.

Quick question: Is there any specific department or authority that can actually tell me what the error is so I can fix it and get this thing processed? Who am I even supposed to reach out to? I’ve tried calling the IRS, but they’re basically just giving me the runaround! Surely there’s a dedicated office meant to handle these kinds of hiccups, right?

Thanks so much in advance.👍

Honestly, from what I've seen, you shouldn't sweat it too much. I've had plenty of cases where things look stuck—I actually have one from back in early 2014 that's still showing as unprocessed—but if you check the ledger, everything was applied perfectly fine.
The main thing is just making sure you have a printed copy of the confirmation showing that it was successfully submitted. Personally, I always print out that receipt along with the actual return, then I just double-check the credits against my internal books and call it a day.

One time, an agent from the local tax office called me saying her system wasn't accepting a filing (even though mine looked good), but it turned out their entire network was just having a total meltdown. She called me back half a day later saying it was all sorted and she'd manually fixed the entry... meanwhile, on my end, the status was still showing as "in processing." So yeah, don't lose sleep over it...
How do I use Multi-Quote? in Forum Help! ·
Joseph Jackson9 said:I’m completely lost here—it just isn't clicking. I can't figure out where to start because none of these instructions make any sense to me. For instance, how am I supposed to quote multiple posts at once? 🙄 What exactly is multi-quote, and what's the actual order of operations for using it?

Let's see if this works. 🤔

Joseph Jackson9 said:So, how do you actually quote from multiple different posts when you're flipping through several pages? And while we're at it—what does "quote" even mean in this context?

Just a little bit longer. 🤔

hiddenmarlin14 said:If you just want a single quote—meaning you want to show the specific message you're replying to—just hit the "Quote" icon in the bottom right corner of that post. It’ll open the editor with that user's message already typed out for you.

Right next to that "Quote" button, there's an icon for "Multi-quote." Just scroll through the thread and click that icon on every post you want to address. Once you're done, head to the bottom of the page and hit "Post Reply." A window will pop up containing all the posts you selected.

Good luck navigating this mess. 😉

So, how did it turn out? ☕
