George Morgan3 said:aaaaaaaaa 😬 👍 Anthrax and Scott Ian! I absolutely loved them, especially Scott's work with S.O.D. (you really have to listen to that project today to realize just how incredible it actually was)
Thanks for reminding me about them! 👍

I used to love her, but I had to kill her...
She bitched so much, she drove me nuts....
And now she's buried in my backyard....
🤣
George Morgan3 said:Well, honestly... back in the day (maybe 16 or 17 years ago), I used to look down on those kids listening to GN'R or Skid Row (🤣I still remember what Sebastian Bach looked like back then). To me, that was just stuff for girls. Real men stuck to AC/DC, Morbid Angel, Metallica, or Slayer. 👍
I have to admit, though—only in the last few years have I actually started seeing that album with Sweet Child O' Mine and Jungle as a genuinely good rock album.

Without her, my dreams feel completely empty...
😳 😎
silenthawk11 said:Thompson puts on a full-scale concert experience that stands right up there with those world-class superstars.
Sarah Wilson95 said:Yeah, I get what you mean about the sound style😳
I agree—musically speaking, it’s incredibly unique, which is exactly why I find it so appealing.😁
It really stands out from everything else. It isn't just different from the MPT stuff, either.
I actually hadn't heard much of it until recently, when some people who follow the scene more closely than I do mentioned it was actually an older release...

but honestly, he has a few tracks that I actually quite enjoy. For instance,
Green was once a field 😳 😁
I even have it saved on my computer.
😉
revolution said:He was basically just being provocative by pointing out how they’re both being labeled as fascists, then followed it up by stating, "We aren't fascists; we are true American patriots."
So, he really went out on a limb there, didn't he?
revolution said:1. There was some group in the dark acting all dramatic, saying things like "the fog is rolling back in," and other nonsense like that. But honestly, who cares? Nothing actually moved forward, at least not with that.🤣
2. And wait, who ever claimed that AT&T was the one singing that? 🙄
3. Exactly, he doesn't want to change. Even then, that audience probably wouldn't have flocked to sing those old, controversial anthems if it wasn't for AT&T himself. But again, it's not a big deal. 😁
4. Look, personally, I don't feel that way about him at all. I'm not some huge fan of his music, nor do I align with his worldview 😳 😁—but it’s entirely possible the guy is just sticking to his guns and doing it with total sincerity.
Still, as a public figure, you HAVE TO be mindful of the messages you send and the reactions they might trigger. It looks like he's finally learned a few lessons compared to how he was a couple of years ago.
5. Death to fascism 😳 😉

I can still picture myself at that Distant Coast concert right here in New York. Marijan Ban was singing "My Beautiful One." There wasn't a single political hat or flag in sight—nothing like that. But the crowd? It was full of Americans, mostly from California. They were just there to sing and dance.
Can anyone actually imagine immigrants or the children of immigrants showing up to a show like that wearing Partisan hats while singing "My Beautiful One?"
To be perfectly clear, whenever a concert is held within the diaspora, it inherently carries a national character. These musicians come from America, not Mexico. They come from America, not America. They come from America, not Germany. Americans gather because the artists themselves are from America, and everything is sung in the American language.
So, could you really see young people at an event like that cheering for Marshall, the resistance, or the "liberators"? Or perhaps harmonizing to "Through Forest and Mountain?"
Not long ago, the Dirty People held a concert in New York, at the American center in the middle of Manhattan. I wasn't able to make it, but I’ve been to one of their shows in that very same building, surrounded by the exact same crowd.
Now, just imagine if during that concert, right when Mladen Bodalec starts singing "To My Mother" or "Rose of America," a group of kids sporting red five-pointed stars starts chanting for Marshall and his "liberators" during the intermission?
The conclusion? It’s impossible. Why? Because Americans are not Americans. America was never America. And the Partisans certainly didn't create America.
😳

And there's still that one crucial question left... where does AC/DC fit into all this? 🙂 😁
silenthawk11 said:Can you actually imagine a single musician in America who could sell out venues across the entire country, in Herzeg-Canada, and among the diaspora just by singing about Marshall, the Partisans, and those other old-school communist thugs? Just picture that scene—it’s wild. All you'd have left is Mason and a few thousand old-timers gathering together in Kumrovec.
ironbadger31 said:Well, I think we can all agree on that one.
Sarah Wilson95 said:so why the quotation marks?😕
Sarah Wilson95 said:Aha, so you're talking about THOSE people who sing because they showed up THERE specifically for HIM —we could even say HE has a significant influence on THEM—and THAT IS what we're discussing.😉 😁 😳
So why doesn't he just use that influence and tell THE KIDS, let's go sing my songs instead... stop playing *Dawn is Breaking*...
You get it? It's pretty straightforward.

I’m not even talking about WHAT THOMPSON SINGS🙄 😁 ...
😁I don't really feel like typing any more right now.
