The guitar playing fra Roy is very good. Nothing flashy or over-the-top, but there’s some brilliant picking if you actually pay attention. His voice is perfect for this kind of acoustic work—haunting, lovely, and occasionally carrying a sharp, venomous edge."
She understands the relationship between form and substance—and she does it so well you can practically feel it. It’s like painting with a piano; there are these vocal modulations and little sonic mini-dramas at play. There’s a certain baroque quality to it, reminiscent of Tracy Chapman, not to mention Kate. All things considered, that CD was a solid hit, and this one isn't much of a step down.
