Narrative in a David Lynch flick is basically a dead end by design. Trying to find cause and effect with clear signs in his work is a waste of time... except maybe for >. That’s why he’s legendary, even if he doesn't get the mass adoration of someone like Tarantino or Almodovar. Sure, Lynch has fans, and they'll probably head down to the local AMC in San Diego to catch >. But even his die-hard followers have to admit watching a Lynch movie is a bit masochistic. You don't feel physical pain, but you're hypnotized and dragged into this endless nightmare...
Hollywood actress Nikki Grace landed a lead role that’s a huge deal for her, especially since her career has been a bit shaky lately. Before long, Nikki realizes the movie is inspired by—or maybe even a remake of—an old Polish film that was left unfinished after the two leads were murdered. She gets convinced the production is cursed. It triggers this total meltdown of fears and neuroses in her head. And not just in her head...
Trippy psychogeography
Lynch’s weird little factory of the subconscious is gonna serve up a ton of bizarre, grotesque imagery. Bodies shift shape, time zones overlap constantly, and external movements feel like they belong in a dream, a craving, or pure madness. Lynch's world of symbols is running at full throttle. High speed, too...
After all the twists, violence, and murders—there's plenty of it, along with gunshot wounds and stabbings—we're left feeling pretty unsettled: does Nikki even exist? Is there even a Poland, or is it just the mental and emotional landscape of some wild Lynchian psychogeography?
Nikki is definitely brought to life by Laura Dern. She’s incredibly versatile here—playing a prostitute, an exhausted wife, a movie star, and even an Alice in Wonderland type (the rabbit is in there and can actually talk...). She’s got enough energy to carry five movies. We remember Laura Dern from Lynch's >, all naive and sweet, and then unraveled in >. As Nikki, she really hits the peak of working with such a demanding director. Moving from > to >, we also see Harry Dean Stanton (who was in >) and Dianna Ladd, Laura Dern's mom.
A carnival of media
After hitting it out of the park with >, Lynch delivered something of the same caliber. > isn't really about movies, but more like—to borrow a phrase from critic Damon Wise—a terrifying carnival of the cinematic medium. > hit US theaters on March 9, 2007. It’s the perfect movie for that late winter/early spring vibe, though a summer heatwave wouldn't hurt it either...
If you're going to sit through >, be ready for three hours of wrestling both physically and spiritually with David Lynch.

The unknown band bio😢Written by Father Mario Sabellini) The Shellfish started back in '94 over in Santa Barbara. We cooked this up thanks to our first bassist, SS Dr. Stefan Hauser, and me (Father Mario Sabellini, SS Gruppenfuhrer). The original lineup included Dale on drums and Shatalic, a serenader from San Francisco. We played at Lollapalooza and somehow walked away with titles for "Worst Set" and "Worst Band." After Shatalic bailed, Father Gregor Gerhard joined the crew, constantly complaining and dragging his long-time boyfriend Rist along to play guitar just so I’d be quieter in the mix. With that setup, we recorded our first album after seven years of silence, "A Gift to My Beloved," which is basically just straight hits—divine music and lyrics that God whispered directly into the ear of the King of Yugoslavia, Father Mario Sabellini, the SS Gruppenfuhrer, during a moment of pure inspiration. Once SS Dr. Stefan Hauser caught a case of total apathy—basically stopped giving a damn about the band—SS Nix Nixon stepped in to handle bass for our second album, "Keeping Pace with Time," in 2003. After Father Mario Sabellini had a direct chat with God regarding the blueprints for a new perfect album featuring legendary tunes and heavenly poetry that would shift the flow of galactic currency, Rist left his lover Gerhard, and the King's new flame Ogi-oh joined the fray. And so the band continued its tradition as a gay-boy band, recording our third album "To Each His Own." Just kidding, we aren't a gay band, we're just assholes. We had a killer set for our 10th anniversary, and honestly, every time we play, the crowd goes wild. The Shellfish's sound was actually an attempt to fix the mistakes made by Mozart and Beethoven, because God told the King that those two messed up a bit and he was sent to set things right. The poetry behind our music was actually penned by God himself, who dictated it to his scribe—me, the King of Yugoslavia, and the SS Gruppenfuhrer—to correct the errors left by old fascist D'Annunzio and the SS concentration camp inspector Theodor Eicke. So if anyone has a problem with the art, take it up with God. We're a punk band, which means we stand for raw nature and human equality, standing against all the garbage and fake patriots who wreck the environment just to line their pockets. Personally, I think Catholic doctrine is fine, it's just that the church officials abuse it to get rich, eat for free for life, and trample over people—even kids—without consequence. The Shellfish stands for preserving historical borders and the anti-fascist tradition as the foundation of modern America, while fighting for workers' rights, healthcare, and all the other essentials that the plutocratic "turbo" nationalist clique and those greedy wartime vampires try to strip away from everyday Americans. Personally, I don't think we need the EU or NATO. Digging up the past just to guilt-trip people feels useless, especially when done by church leaders who seem to do the exact opposite of what Jesus commanded. Ecocide is a massive issue that needs constant talking about, and I've tackled it in several songs, like "Strange Scene." I'm all for sexual freedom, though I find the idea of gay marriage a bit grotesque; most people find seeing homosexuals flaunt it a little off-putting. That doesn't mean they're worth less, it's just a bit cringey and unnatural to watch. The Shellfish plays whenever we feel like it; we don't answer calls for festivals or gigs. We do what we want. We're the bosses. If you want to reach us, talk to any band member, nobody else. If someone actually has a creative idea, they can reach out at...

Looking like fools as we fall apart
Everyone on the other side of the world
Hiding the exhaustion in our tangled limbs
So many spent stories, streets paved in paper
Shredded truths
We wore down the roads with nothing but dreams
And you can't just stay silent forever...
That scent of early autumn...
Through poisoned nights where memory stands guard,
I don't make it through...
Back then, even wagons full of silver or rivers of gold dust
Couldn't bribe the morning,
And the wind carries it on light lips...
The scent of early autumn...
Ooooo, I'm talking in my sleep...
So many spent stories, streets paved in paper
Shredded truths
We wore down the roads with nothing but dreams
And even if you try not to hold it all in,
The wind carries it on light lips
The scent of early autumn...
Ooooo, I'm talking in my sleep...

Oral sex isn't exactly safe sex...
Look, even if you love sex and live for it, anyone with half a brain knows there’s always a risk of catching something... A lot of people, especially teens, think they're playing it safe by sticking to oral instead of penetration, but that's just foolishness. Hardly anyone realizes STIs can spread that way too—even HIV can find its way from one spot to another...
STDs can spread through oral too, but the risk isn't quite as high as penetration...
Most people think oral sex is just about the basics, but it’s way more than that... you've got nipple play, toe sucking, even rimming... it's a whole spectrum...
Nipple play or toe sucking? Risk is basically zero... but those other two ways to go at it? You're looking at a real chance of picking up HPV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and all that good stuff...
Before we get into all the messy downsides of oral sex, let's just remember why it’s becoming less of a taboo and more of a standard part of the bedroom routine...
Studies show women hit that peak way easier through oral... whether it's just that or if it happens before penetration. And obviously, oral can be a huge help for guys dealing with minor ED issues who need that extra spark before things get real...
Whether they’re seeing someone steady or just playing the field, women really ought to make it a habit to hit up the gynecologist once a year...
And everyone knows oral is basically the foolproof way to dodge an unplanned pregnancy...
Oral sex as just the warm-up for the "real" thing...
Oral sex among teens has spiked over the last decade, and anal sex is catching up too... even if it's less common. We don't really have the data here in the States to show exactly how much exposure there is, but the reality is that most kids don't even count oral as "real" sex. They just see it as foreplay... so they'll tell you they aren't sexually active, even when they totally are...
Younger people seem to think oral is somehow "safer" than penetrative sex... which is true for some things, I guess. But you can still catch STDs from oral or anal play, and a standard urine test won't always catch it. A pee test isn't going to flag gonorrhea or chlamydia from those acts, and honestly, gonorrhea is a much bigger deal when it comes to oral...
Abstinence is the only surefire way to prevent it, but let's be real... that's not exactly practical advice when oral sex is becoming such a huge part of how people express intimacy these days...
It’s rare, but you can actually catch HIV through oral sex... seen cases where people got infected whether they were giving or receiving. How does that even happen? Everyone knows kissing won't do it, but then again, "deep" kissing involves enough saliva that things get blurry... same goes for oral. If we're talking blowjobs, the risk drops if the guy doesn't finish in the mouth, but with cunnilingus, things get way sketchier if she's on her period...
warts and throat sores... just great...
So, HPV is caused by the Human Papillomavirus... basically, like 80 to 100 percent of girls between 18 and 25 run into it through sex. Only about 30 percent actually show symptoms though, mostly because the body just clears it on its own if your immune system is doing its job... Usually shows up as warts on the penis or for women, it's around the labia, vagina, anus, or butt. Rare, but you can get it orally too, which means warts in the mouth or throat...
Unlike other STIs, chlamydia often flies totally under the radar. Like, 30 to 50 percent of women with cervicitis don't even feel anything... nothing at all. Back in the early 2000s, *Chlamydia trachomatis* almost caused a full-on epidemic among young people in the US. When it comes to oral sex, it’s usually passed through fellatio, and you can catch it via a throat swab. It gets sketchy if the bacteria settles near your mouth or nose, since it can trigger various infections, especially eye infections.
Even though it doesn't pop up every single day, gonorrhea is one of those super common genital infections that’s basically spreading like a pandemic. Unlike most STDs, it hits guys the hardest. We're talking intense burning when you pee, cloudy urine, major pain, and discharge. For women, symptoms are way more subtle and creep up slowly. One way women get hit with gonorrhea is through oral sex—specifically fellatio—which usually just feels like a nasty, inflamed sore throat or even some pus-filled sores.
Just cutting down the risk rather than dodging it entirely—use condoms during oral too. There are actually flavored ones out there now specifically to make people actually want to use them during oral play...
There have also been cases where genital herpes gets spread through oral sex. Herpes symptoms involve stinging and that uncomfortable tightness in the skin, followed by blisters that eventually pop and leave behind painful sores on the skin or mucous membranes. Experts say if you've got a cold sore on your lips, you definitely shouldn't be doing oral.
So, how do you protect yourself from STIs passed through oral sex? Honestly, it's the same deal as "regular" sex—use decent condoms and just act responsibly. Staying healthy, having one steady, monogamous partner, and keeping up with hygiene (washing your genitals before and after, plus teeth and mouth, etc.) makes things a lot safer. Having sex with one partner is considered safe if both people are healthy and exclusive.
But, gotta remember: these things just lower the risk, they don't eliminate it. Abstinence is the only 100% sure way to prevent it, but that’s not exactly practical advice since oral sex is such a big part of life for so many couples. So, just take comfort in the fact that the risk of infection during oral sex is generally lower than with vaginal or anal penetration.
HPV usually spreads through sex, but skin-to-skin contact with infected areas works too. It can even hit the respiratory tract or eyes, though most cases stick to the genital area.
Even if guys use condoms, they aren't bulletproof against HPV... warts usually pop up around the base of the penis.
Since it's not just about penetration, you see it in girls who haven't had sex yet. Plus, it shows up in the mouth, so oral-genital contact is definitely a thing.
How does HPV show up? [edit]
Types 16, 18, 31, and 33 are the bad ones—they cause cervical cancer. Along with those, you get these clusters of warts, mostly inside the vagina or around the anus.
For men, warts usually show up on the shaft, under the foreskin, or near the anus. They can also hit the rectum or mouth.
If a pregnant woman has warts, there’s a risk she'll pass the infection to the baby during birth.
Diagnosis
To confirm HPV, you need a urologist or gynecologist to run some molecular tests if needed. Guys get a urethral swab, while women get a Pap smear and maybe a colposcopy to check the cervix for changes.
Pap results are now categorized using CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia), which has three stages depending on how bad things look in the cervix.
CIN1 is mild dysplasia
CIN2 is moderate dysplasia
CIN3 is severe dysplasia (cancer)
How do you treat HPV? [edit]
If a Pap smear catches malignant changes early, treatment is way easier and less painful... much better than waiting until it turns into full-blown cancer.
Warts can be handled a few ways:
liquid chemicals like Imiquimod or Podophyllin
freezing them off via cryotherapy
burning them off with electrocoagulation
injecting interferon to boost immunity
laser treatment
surgical removal
But honestly, you can't fully "cure" an HPV infection... it just stays.
The Vaccine
Back in June 2006, Merck released Gardasil, which got the green light in the USA. A study on women averaging 23 years old showed it protects against types 16 and 18, which cause about 70% of cervical cancers. It was basically 100% effective against those dangerous strains. It also covers types 6 and 11, which cause 90% of genital warts. Even the CDC recommends it for women who already have an HPV diagnosis.
Prevention
Most people don't even know they have it since it rarely shows symptoms, so they spread it without realizing. Using condoms helps, especially if you're seeing different partners frequently.
HPV is almost an invisible byproduct of being sexually active. That's why doctors in the US tell women to get regular Pap smears—to catch HPV or other STIs before they become a problem.
Some info here might be unverified or unreliable.
Check for inaccuracies and update with sources if needed.
Just a heads up, apparently even using condoms doesn't totally stop the nastiest HPV strains that cause cervical cancer...
So if you find out you've got one of those types, you really should tell your partners so we don't end up with a massive outbreak...
A woman’s greatness shows in big moments, but she’s tiny in the little ones.
Hardly any woman tries to win you over with wit, let alone soul or kindness...
She’ll talk romance with Alcibiades or philosophy with a handsome Lysander, but she won't give even a second to an old, ugly Socrates.
A woman might forgive a guy for his worst sins, but she won't forgive another woman for her best virtues.
She loves you most when she’s the one doing the forgiving.
Nick thinks worse of women than the guy who’s already head over heels for one.
I judge a man by what he says, and a woman by everything she leaves unsaid.
Men have childhoods, youth, and old age, but a woman stays a kid forever—treating everything like a toy.
Men are brave facing death, but women are brave facing life: men face other men, while women face destiny itself.
Nothing kills love faster than a man being too nice... if you want a woman to love you, you gotta act like a man.
A man in love wonders how to share his luck, while a woman figures out how to double it.
Women are the ultimate spark for human creation... 😳 They’re the peak of a man's thoughts and actions, and we owe all human genius to them.
Youth and love... that's really all there is.
Only in love and death can people be equals, where the last one to arrive hits the first.
There are two kinds of marriages: one for the young and their prime, and one for the old and their decline... 😛 One to split the joy and the grief, the other to split the misery and the sickness.
Two real tragedies in life: having no health and having no friends.
The best people are those hardest on themselves, forgiving others for things they'd never excuse in themselves. People who share the same virtues love each other, just like those with the same flaws hate each other.
Great men judge others by their virtues; small men judge by their flaws.
Talk about someone good for half an hour, and you’ll feel peaceful, maybe even proud of how good you feel.
Crude words and manners come from the poor, but deep malice and dark vendettas? That’s high-society stuff.
Old age, sickness, and poverty... combined, they're the ultimate disaster for anyone.
People rarely have evil goals; it's usually just evil methods.
A person can never say as much wisdom as they can through silence.
It's a myth that everyone is the architect of their own happiness; honestly, we're more like the architects of our own misery.
Society only tolerates an old man if he's funny or loaded.
The one thing men won't forgive another man for is having a hotter wife.
It's a tragedy when you don't know what you want, but a total catastrophe when you don't know what you're capable of.
Sometimes a path looks righteous because you see an atheist getting rich and successful. Man, if only they could see where that road ends.
The atheist fears a sudden death, the thief fears a burglar, the killer fears the blade, the narcissist fears shame, and the slanderer fears the truth coming out.
Whatever the godless man fears... that's exactly what's going to find him.
God didn't make us to perish, but to be saved. Does a gardener plant veggies just to watch them wither and die? God only has one wish: that everyone turns away from evil.
If someone knew the number of stars, the names of every fish, the blades of grass, and the habits of wild animals, but still had no fear of God, their knowledge would be as useless as water in a sieve.
If someone could guess every human thought, predict every fate, and reveal every secret hidden deep in the earth, but lacked fear of God, their knowledge would be like milk poured into a dirty cup—spoiled instantly.
Even the hairs on your head are counted, so why worry about friends or enemies on this earth? Don't stress about having too many friends or too many enemies. Don't worry about enemies overcoming you, and don't expect your friends to save you. Just try to keep God as a friend and don't fear anything.
Fighting monsters is easy. We have tools they don't... But fighting evil spirits? Harder. They play by rules we can't even touch.
Money isn't life. It's just some accessory for this short stint on earth.
Physical marriage is just a shadow of a spiritual one. In the physical kind, you get the good stuff first, then the bitter part. Spiritual is the opposite... pain first, joy later.
A bag of dust doesn't make a single grain of gold worth more.
Wolves have been hunting lambs forever. No lamb ever killed a wolf, yet there are way more lambs than wolves out there...
Conquering your own anger is basically what being a soldier of Christ is all about. Usually, we get pissed at people we're trying to save from sin, or at our haters. We forget that anger is a death trap... trying to save others just ends up losing us instead.
Don't covet anything that belongs to your neighbor. Once you want it, you've already planted the seed of evil. It grows, spreads, and starts driving your hands, feet, eyes, and tongue to do wrong. The body is just the soul's tool. If the soul wants it, the body follows... if not, it won't.
The boss of the soul is also the boss of the body.
Nick isn't great if he isn't standing behind someone bigger...
Do something good and bury it under a rock. That rock will find its own voice and tell everyone.
There’s nothing harder than trying to explain spiritual stuff to people who only care about the material world.
The Devil wouldn't even have a job if people didn't keep him busy...
Treat every day like a whole lifetime. Live it as one complete unit, not just a fragment. Make sure every day passes like a whole person you'd actually want to meet again—someone you could show off to the universe without feeling ashamed.
Laziness is just against human nature. Nature wants to build, work, move. Being lazy is just a sign that someone's nature is totally warped.
Laziness is a deadly sin because it kills the soul. A lazy body is a nest for vices, and a lazy soul is where the Devil sets up shop.
If someone can't handle our little mistakes, they don't love us. And the person who won't forgive us when we repent doesn't love us either. Least of all the one who won't celebrate our progress.
You get the kind of friends you give out.
Loving your parents is the foundation. You can't move past that without learning how to love properly first.
Don't act like you're wise. Not with someone else's wisdom, and definitely not your own... because once you start acting wise, it means you haven't got much left.
History tracks two kinds of heroes: the ones who die for their ideals, and the ones who kill others for theirs.
Someone pretending they know everything is actually beneath the guy who knows nothing.
Wanna fix the world? Fix yourself first.
Wanna fix the country? Fix yourself first.
Wanna fix the nation? Fix yourself first.
Wanna fix the small town? Fix yourself first.
Starting with yourself and fixing yourself first—that's
1. Scrub 'em and dry them well: Wash your feet every single day, especially before bed. If you've actually got the time, soaking them in a foot bath with some tea tree oil helps a ton. Don't just shove socks on right after washing... dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes, and let them air out.
2. Deodorants and antiperspirants: Once they're dry, hit them with an antiperspirant to kill the sweat. There's a massive selection out there now, and honestly, the Schollov ones have been reliable forever.
3. Let them breathe: Ideally, keep your feet dry and exposed to the air. That’s easy enough in the summer, but once winter hits, just make sure you have a mountain of clean cotton socks—doesn't have to be white if you hate them—and swap them out at least once a day.
4. Rotate your shoes: One reason girls rarely deal with stinky feet is because they actually like wearing shoes! They rotate through several pairs so fungus doesn't just move in. After you wear a pair, leave them to "air out" for at least 24 hours while you switch to something else.
The real issue is when people only own one pair... usually sneakers. If you want your feet to actually breathe, go grab at least one pair of leather shoes so they don't sweat as much.
5. Grab some insoles: Any decent shoe store, pharmacy, or DM will have a huge variety of insoles (latex, fresh, faux fur, coconut, whatever). We aren't talking about those orthopedic ones for posture or heating up old folks' feet—these are specifically to stop fungus from growing.
Oh, and don't forget stress can make you sweat like crazy, including your palms. Same hygiene rules apply, but you know, for keeping your mind healthy too...
So, how do I fix this annoying issue for good? I've been using stuff from Avon and it keeps the sweat under control, but... any ideas on a long-term fix?😘
can this actually cause hair loss?
