The ultimate hangover cure? in Health ·
I remember stumbling upon this piece of advice once—apparently, if you wake up feeling absolutely wrecked and completely useless, you need to chug a glass of ice-cold milk.
I honestly thought it was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever read.
But then, naturally, I found myself facing one of those brutal, soul-crushing hangovers, and I decided to test out this little nugget of wisdom. And let me tell you, it actually works! It’s the real deal.
In my experience, the higher the fat content, the better, since it seems to help soak up the damage, but the absolute clincher is that it has to be freezing cold.
Look, it isn't some magical Fountain of Youth elixir, but it makes things feel significantly, massively better...👍
Tips for quitting smoking! in Health ·
Does anyone out there happen to have the contact info or an address for that specialist who uses hypnosis to help heavy smokers quit?
Pleeeeeeease.

My old man is coughing his lungs out lately... and honestly, he’s so stubborn that he probably won't listen to anything unless it involves some kind of psychological trickery to break the habit. 😢

I heard through the grapevine that there's someone practicing this down in Opatija—though I don't have a clue what his name is or where his office is located—but if anyone knows of a practitioner in a major hub like Chicago, please, help me out. 🙏

What on earth have you all done to this thread?!? 🙄 😢

Jack Harris3:
"I have an answer! Unfortunately—it doesn't actually answer the question..." 😁 👍

Am I allowed to quote you and pass that along to Jose Reyes?? 😉

Parsifal:

PLEASE try to understand the spirit behind what I’m trying to say rather than just the literal wording of my speech

Oh, I understand you perfectly. And honestly, you phrased it quite nicely... 🙏

And finally:

The point isn't really about reaching a destination, but rather the journey itself, because I don't believe there is such a thing as a final goal in spiritual growth. Once you arrive, the journey ends, and in my view, that would be detrimental to spiritual evolution. There shouldn't be any stopping point, because to me, any kind of stagnation feels like a defeat.

to reach for the star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far
that's a line I find myself humming quite often

Lastly—some advice (and I mean this without being combative)... 🙂
And it's actually decent advice....
👍 👏

You’ve really gone and pulled 🙂 straight into the thick of it.

I honestly can't quite wrap my head around which question to toss your way at this particular moment. 🙂

Honestly, folks, why is everyone jumping down the Jose Reyes's throat like this?!?😲
Rather than actually sitting back and letting him share some enlightened wisdom, you all just relentlessly force him into this exhausting cycle of constant defense and self-justification...
And in the process, he loses precious time that could be spent on his actual "enlightenment"...

Jose Reyes, if it means anything to you—I’m with you. 👋

I truly hope the leader of this thread is gaining some sort of spiritual "enlightenment" from reading these posts. 😂

To be perfectly honest, the leader behind this thread actually managed to pull herself out of her own identity crisis—partly, I suspect, thanks to the unsolicited wisdom offered by some of the authors here. 👍

Now, she’s essentially joined the ranks of those working toward the spiritual upliftment of the lost souls wandering aimlessly through this world... though perhaps she's just doing it through sheer humor...
And look, laughter really does cleanse and mend the soul... I mean it... when I say that, I truly mean it...
😁

I, for one, am satisfied. 🎉

Aren't you just a hopeless dreamer—an idealist at heart? 🙂

Honestly, someone ought to be looking out for you and giving you a little extra care. 🙂 🙂

It’s actually quite a heavy task to pin down exactly what constitutes a threat to someone who truly has nothing left to lose...

A "SPIRITUAL GURU."

He claims to be one, he's respected as such by certain circles, and—which is arguably the most pertinent point regarding the subject of this thread—he is capable of detailing several of his TEACHING METHODS AND EXPERIENCES.
Joe will gladly address any inquiry you might have.😎 🙏

Folks, please, let’s not engage in mockery here...
Well, look, a "Guru" has finally graced us with his presence.

Since I’m the one who actually kicked off this entire discussion, I feel somewhat obligated to pose a few questions to him directly...

1. So, Joe, how are you doing? 😁
2. Do you happen to hold any actual certification for your mastery?
3. Are you held in high regard by the people you've personally assisted, or is it just among strangers online?
4. Could you provide even a single example from your teaching experience where a specific method helped someone out of a state of confusion?

...I certainly have more than that, but I suppose I should start slow... lest I drive you away before we've even truly begun. 😉

hollowviper72 said:A dreamer... well, a dreamer doesn't really pay much attention to what's actually happening in front of them; they’re always drifting somewhere else, lost in their own private version of reality. They love the dream, you see, and they don't give a damn about the gritty details of life. An idealist, on the other hand, is fully aware of how things truly are, but they possess this relentless drive to reshape reality into the vision they carry in their head...

That’s my take on it, anyway.

The Dreamer is the theorist.
The Idealist is the practitioner.

It’s a fine thing to possess both qualities, I suppose, but while the dreamers are busy being poets, it's the idealists who actually get the world moving.

To be perfectly honest, you both have a point...
Eric Scott65 was searching for a spiritual guide, while also asking for your take on the whole idea of hunting for such a guru...
The truth of the matter is, you actually helped me. 😛
See, I had this expectation that I’d stumble upon someone or something that would finally point me toward my own path—a path I somehow lost when I started taking those shortcuts that aren't exactly written in the stars... I was looking for a guru who could show me, prove it to me, and lay out the exact direction where my name is meant to be written...
And now, I’m actually glad I didn't find one.

You all helped me... I received a few gentle reality checks accompanied by a pat on the back, a couple of slaps to wake me up, and maybe two or three glasses of ice-cold water to sober me up...
It might sound a bit harsh, but honestly, that was exactly what I needed.
You helped me pull myself together so I wouldn't veer off my course again by following someone else's compass.
I am more than capable of overcomplicating things all by myself... 🙂

So, there it is—a somewhat strange way to thank everyone who participated in providing "spiritual aid" to my humble self.
At least now I can laugh at my own expense... 😵

Thank you once again, my teachers....

And feel free to let it go to your heads... You certainly have reason to... :klap:

I really wanted to give a shout-out to the crew over at "Pear and Apple," but honestly, I think I lost my way somewhere amidst those endless recipes and all that obsessive attention to detail...
😉

But hey, it doesn't really matter; the important thing is just getting the words down on paper...😁

Roger Hall15 said:There isn't just one single, perfect way. I mean, sure, it exists, but you aren't going to find it by looking for it. 😉

There are no pre-packaged recipes out there; you have to invent your own path, and when you finally start moving—even when you feel like you're stumbling through total darkness—something or someone will "coincidentally" cross your path. It all rests on your shoulders, yet even when you feel like you're just wandering blindly, you'll inevitably stumble upon a "teacher." 😉
Turn off the commercials, ignore the ads, kill the radio and the TV, and just start walking bravely into the void.
To begin with, you really just need to quiet your mind a little. 🙂

Of course, you could always go out and buy a "recipe," only to realize later that you've been swindled, which means you'll have to waste your time relearning everything while those "teachers" are busy on official business or tending to the cash register...
That’s the easier route, certainly, but it's ultimately a dead end. You'll eventually have to return to that initial stage of blind stumbling anyway. 😉
If you feel drawn to it, follow it; if not, just take it easy and enjoy the ride.

Before I take velvetpilot212's advice and start indulging in peyote 🙄 ,
I think I'll stick to stumbling through my own darkness for a while... Perhaps I'll actually wander into one of those "coincidences" after all. 🙂 At least taking things as they come isn't too much work...
Thanks. 🙂

Well... I was being perfectly serious yesterday, actually...😢

But today, that heavy dark cloud has finally lifted from my soul, though it seems to have moved on to drenching all of Washington, D.C. instead.😉

If hollowviper72 actually has a point and
"no single Teacher can dictate the path one ought to follow. A Teacher merely illuminates the myriad trails within a dark forest, yet the choice of which way to tread remains entirely yours," and, "once the student is truly ready, they will realize the Teacher was there all along,"
then I suppose you all have been serving as my teachers this whole time.
🙂

My thanks to you. 👋

I can only hope that, with my eyes finally wide open, I might actually stumble upon my "lesson," because lately, it seems I keep walking right past it....🙂

Perhaps I am simply far too fixated on the wrong things...
Spiritual Teacher?! in Spirituality ·
There’s a question that has been weighing heavily on my mind for quite some time now...
Do you all believe that there is one single, definitive "true" spiritual Teacher out there for each of us—someone specifically destined to reveal or point out our unique path?
Should one actively seek them out, or is it better to simply wait for those subtle signs from the universe that might guide you toward them?
Or perhaps, following the logic of Lane's thread regarding "The people sent to us," should we just sit back and wait until the right Teacher finally manifests itself before our very eyes?

As for me, I’ll be honest: I’m struggling. I’ve been weathering a profound spiritual crisis for a while now, and I feel this desperate need for someone to show me the way again...
I find myself completely adrift in a sea of endless advertisements, flyers, and radio programs all claiming to offer spiritual guidance.
How on earth am I supposed to discern which one is actually the real deal?
To make matters worse, I’ve already gone as far as scheduling sessions with two different practitioners, only to have both of them push me off repeatedly due to their various "official" business trips...
Does that mean they were the wrong teachers for me? And more importantly, does a "True" one even exist at all?
Because right now, the Almighty isn't sending anyone my way...🙂 🙂

What am I supposed to do?? 🙂 🙏
