So, I suppose the title pretty much speaks for itself here.
Has anyone else (unfortunately) dealt with this kind of thing, and if so, how have you been managing? I’m not really talking about those rare, one-off moments that pop up once in a blue moon, but rather those persistent patterns that feel like a constant, heavy part of your daily existence.
In my specific case, it mostly manifests as an obsessive need to wash my hands.
Well, I guess I should add myself to the list of people struggling with this too.🙂 🙂 🙂
Beyond the hand washing, I also deal with these endless compulsions to check whether doors or even the heater are turned off. To be fair, I do have to double-check the locks because I live with a pretty rowdy guy, but anything beyond checking once or twice feels just... unhealthy.🙄
On top of all that, I’d say I’m generally a very insecure person.
Dealing with the disorder itself is quite a struggle, and I truly wish I could just feel healthy again. Right now, it feels like I'm just facing judgment and a lack of empathy from the people around me.😢 😢 😢
I honestly think this whole situation is taking a real toll on my social life.😢
