Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Music ·
Well... regarding the entry from Ukraine... the singer isn't much to look at and his English is pretty rough. If they had a song that actually landed, they’d probably cruise to a win👍

I'm curious about the process for these 25 countries fighting for a spot in the final. Since only 10 move forward, how is that decided? Does every country get a vote, or just those 25... or is there some jury involved?😕

In short, I’ve listened to all the entries... the competition this year is so lackluster that I’m genuinely stumped on who might take the trophy, though Greece definitely isn't my pick. Canada might perform well, but that really hinges on the stage production. Personally, my favorite is Ukraine... the odds are about 80:1 that they win... it's a long shot, but I see them easily landing in the top three. It's a catchy melody that sticks with you. Last year was much easier to call; if I had known there was a 30:1 chance for Wild Dance, I would have put $333 on that track....
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest shock last year came from the Mexicans, because on my personal scale, I had them at the absolute bottom... the song lacks any real energy, sounding more like half-baked folk music. It somehow managed to go further than expected. Anyway... out of the North American region, the best bet is Canada 😛
When I first heard that song, it felt like I’d heard it a hundred times already... it’s almost as if the track was cobbled together from ten different ABB songs... so, purely based on that ABBA-esque sound, they could actually go quite far. As for our representative... lol, in my estimation, there's no saving them... but who knows, maybe we'll see another miracle like what happened with the Mexicans (with Lan's song), though I highly doubt it....

That's my take... bye 😎

Does anyone know... where I can find all the music videos for the songs competing in this year's Eurovision Song Contest online?
How long does it take you to fall asleep? in Health ·
My only real issues are dark circles under my eyes and an occasional stinging sensation. Any advice on how to handle this?
How long does it take you to fall asleep? in Health ·
I usually turn in around 2 or 3 in the morning and roll out by 8. It’s my way of keeping things consistent, even through the weekend. If I happen to stay up until 4 a.m. on a Saturday, for instance, I just sleep in until 9. 👍

Lidocaine is an interesting local anesthetic because it doesn't just stop pain. It’s also an antiarrhythmic. When you inject it into tissue or near nerves, it functions strictly as a local anesthetic. However, if it enters the bloodstream via IV, it starts acting as both an anesthetic and an antiarrhythmic agent. This dual nature means you have to be incredibly careful during administration; using it as a local anesthetic can unexpectedly trigger cardiac side effects if it hits the system too hard.
It’s commonly used for nerve blocks during routine procedures, or as an antiarrhythmic during heart attacks or major cardiac surgeries.

Professional literature... 😁

Alright, let's try this again. I'm actually curious—if you're going to cite "professional literature," why don't you just tell me exactly what it is so I can read it myself?

I know the crowd over there... let's just say if someone actually shows up, what are they charging, or is it some kind of student discount situation where it's free?

Megan Morales5 said:[B........ I’ve talked to people who were absolute savages about this—they did two-week stints twice a year and came out looking completely reborn. Their skin tightened up, they had this glow, their eyes were bright, even their hair looked shinier... [/B]

😕
What kind of nonsense is that? If drinking nothing but water suddenly makes your eyes sparkle and your hair shine, then I have serious questions about what happens when you actually eat a balanced meal.
And as for the skin tightening... 😁 🙂
If you're fasting, you're losing weight, which usually does the exact opposite of tightening skin. Have you ever seen someone crash diet and lose weight overnight? Their skin doesn't look rejuvenated.

In my view, a fast should last maybe two or three days at most. Anything beyond that is just starvation disguised as health. As for feeling energized and "on top of the world" while doing this? You're just kidding yourselves. 👎

I'm looking for some info on where I can pick up some judo training here in Washington, D.C. Does anyone know of any decent spots and what the typical rates look like?

Why not just wear a backpack? 😁 😉

I’ll leave that part to her imagination... 🙂

Regarding those 75 reps
😁
Where did 75 come from? Why not 80... or 60?
I told her she might even hit more than that in five minutes. My main point is that volume per set matters most. There's a massive difference between doing 50 in one go versus 20... or 10. It's common knowledge that smaller muscle groups—like your abs, forearms, or calves—can handle higher repetitions because they're built for endurance, whereas heavy lifts like bench press are different. That said, if we're talking strictly anaerobic training, anything over 20 reps per set is usually plenty for any muscle group.

But like bluebear21 said, "Not my circus, not my monkeys. I gave my advice; whether she takes it or not is up to her." Honestly, the best move is to try both methods and see what works best. I was simply offering how I would personally tackle the issue. 👋

bluebear21 said:If you're working with thin sheets, you probably shouldn't bother trying to define them; that would imply you’re actually attempting to gauge their thickness.🙂 If you’re actually serious about bulking up your calves, try this: head to the seated calf raise machine at your local gym and pick a weight that allows you to hit roughly 50 reps within a five-minute window. The goal is to stick with that exact weight for several weeks until you can crank that number up to 75 reps in that same five-minute timeframe. Once you hit that milestone, increase the load and start the cycle over. During those five minutes, you have total freedom—you can take one long break or a hundred tiny ones—as long as you don't exceed the five-minute limit. The only catch is that after about two months, your muscles will adapt to this specific brand of torture and growth will plateau. But if you stay consistent, you should see real results within that two-month stretch.

That claim is completely off base. Doing 75 reps in five minutes is textbook aerobic training—basically the definition of it.

Just to clear up some misconceptions: you can't target fat loss in one specific area by only exercising that part of the body. It’s essentially hardwired into your genetics. To put it simply, if you spend all your time doing calf raises, you aren't going to magically slim down your lower legs or burn the fat specifically from that area. The same logic applies to every other muscle group. If your goal is actual weight loss, you're better off focusing on movements that engage large muscle groups—think running or cycling. As for Rosana, if you're working out at home, stairs are your best friend. Just make sure you're focusing on the descent. There are actually three distinct ways to train calves, even though they might look similar. For instance, you could just stand on flat ground and rise onto your toes. Or, you can stand on the edge of a step with your heels hanging off, dropping them below the level of the step before pushing back up. However, once you hit that maximum depth, you should only push back up to your starting position.
Think of it like a staircase: you start at the bottom step and work your way up. By the time you reach the top, you’ve already gained significant momentum.

If you're training anaerobically to pack on muscle, keep your reps under 20 per set. You'll need to adjust the weight accordingly to ensure you don't overshoot that mark. Also, a quick tip for calf raises: try holding the stretch at the top for a second or two before slowly lowering back down. It’s like slowing down a car on a steep hill; you'll feel the burn much sooner. 👋

To wrap things up, let’s clarify the distinction between aerobic and anaerobic exercise. When you hear "aerobic," the word itself should immediately bring oxygen to mind.
The logic holds up: aerobic training relies on oxygen to tap into fat stores for energy—hence the name. If "aerobic" means with oxygen, then by default, anaerobic implies working without it. 😕

It’s a common misconception that anaerobic training means exercising without oxygen. In reality, it’s about the oxygen deficit. When you push hard enough to deplete your available oxygen, your body switches from burning fat to burning carbohydrates because they can be processed much faster without it. This explains why bodybuilders often favor lower repetition ranges in certain circuits; the goal is to exhaust the system quickly, forcing the muscles to burn through oxygen stores and pivot straight to carbohydrate metabolism.
If you’re actually serious about dropping some weight, there is one golden rule: you have to put in the hours. It’s all about the grind. 😛 I prefer long-distance training at a steady pace. It’s about endurance—setting weights so you can grind through 50 reps without stopping rather than just hitting 10, or riding a bike for ten minutes instead of one. It's much like a marathon runner finding their rhythm rather than a sprinter burning out in seconds. Roughly 0.6 miles. It’s about the length of six football fields laid end-to-end.It’s more like a marathon, not a 100-meter dash.
Hopefully, I managed to clear up some of those training dilemmas. We'll see. 👋

To's the short version of my dilemma... a classic issue most guys face... I finish way too fast. I recently hooked up with someone, and it seems I left her pretty disappointed, so she decided to give me a "do-over"... which might be happening 😉 ....So, I'm curious how you all manage to stretch things out past the 10-minute mark. Is there anything actually effective besides Viagra?😲 😁

Is it just a matter of hitting it ten times a day... smoking weed... or does anyone have some actual, sensible advice?

I don't see what they're losing here... if anything, it benefits them when I load cash onto my card, yet they still have the nerve to tack on commission fees and monthly membership costs. It’s just plain nonsensical.
Has anyone actually used PayPal... and how does the process work?

I have a few questions regarding cards... specifically, what the requirements are to get one. I'm looking for something primarily for online shopping. I understand that cards allow you to defer payments, but my goal is actually the opposite—I'd prefer to load a specific amount of cash onto the card first and then just shop using that balance. Which types of cards make this possible? Essentially, I want to spend only what I've already put in, so there's no need for credit checks or proof of income to guarantee repayment.

It might sound illogical, but using a card makes online transactions so much smoother. If anyone knows which options fit this description, thanks in advance. 👋

Regarding how those blankets actually work... I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical at first. I wasn't buying it. The only thing I actually felt was during the first couple of days—this intense tingling sensation all over my body that literally kept me awake for an entire night. The sales clerk tried to tell me it was just my body adjusting and my energy stabilizing, or some other nonsense like that.

And here is the strange part: my aunt owns the exact same blanket. She left it out to air out, and when she put it back on the bed, she accidentally flipped it. It’s designed with North-South polarity, but she swapped them to South-North. Basically, they were sleeping on the wrong poles. She did it completely by accident, without a clue she had reversed the orientation. A few days later, she started struggling with insomnia and debilitating headaches. Three weeks in, she actually collapsed. She felt so faint that she went in for medical tests, and the doctors couldn't find a single reason for it. It was only by pure chance that she noticed the blanket was facing the wrong way. Once she flipped it back to the correct side, everything returned to normal within a week.
I read somewhere that if you sleep on the wrong side, it causes certain metallic elements in the body to shift toward the head, which triggers those headaches and such.

At the end of the day, these blankets clearly do something, though whether it's significant enough to matter is another question entirely.
