Honestly, I finally realized they’re easily the best deal and most delicious ones at Whole Foods if you just grab them from the bulk bins... 1kg for$9.75

I usually get mine at Plodina $23 1 kg😢

I’m thinking about buying them, but it feels stupid to drop $27 on something if there isn't even a point to it...

I personally stick to dried fruit—it's excellent.👍 Sometimes I even grab the frozen stuff. Dried fruit often packs more vitamins and minerals per gram than fresh fruit, so you don't need to consume nearly as much. Why bother with tablets when you don't even know the quality or what's actually in them!👎

Casey Palmer5 said:What you're describing is what we call dynamic stabilization training. Right now, it's the gold standard for lower back issues. Beyond just using stability balls, they use these small rubber pads to support your palms and feet—it’s incredibly unstable. But that's the whole point; you have to fight to maintain balance, which engages those tiny stabilizer muscles along the spine. Strengthening those is absolutely vital for managing back pain.

I was lucky enough to have a close friend who works as a top-tier personal trainer here in the States, and he got me started on a program like that. There are plenty of variations, but the core philosophy is highly individualized; they build the routine specifically around your unique physical needs. He even had me working muscles I didn't realize existed, all of which turned out to be essential for my back health.
Regarding physical therapy, I was referring to the traditional kind, usually done through an insurance provider. I was placed in a group session alongside people in their 80s. It passed by quickly, but honestly, it didn't do much for me. I suspect there are far more effective private options available...
For me personally, a chiropractor was a lifesaver, and helped my wife significantly when she was dealing with neck issues. It really comes down to finding someone you can trust. When they are properly trained, these professionals truly know their craft. We have an excellent chiropractor here in San Diego, and every adjustment he makes is precise and intentional; he wouldn't make a move without knowing exactly how it will affect the body...

Is there any place I can find these specific exercises or instructions for them?

Try searching online for "Core Stability" or "core stabilization training." You might also look for "Back extension with stability ball" or "Ball crunches" for abdominal work. If you dig around a bit, you'll find plenty of options like the Ball Superman, Ball Hamstring Curl, Ball Russian Twist, Prone Iso-Ab Series, Ball Pullover, or the Ball Arm/Opp. Leg Raise. These are all incredibly effective exercises that don't require a gym membership—all you need is an inexpensive stability ball. The idea is that the ball supports your back while its instability forces you to engage deeper, making the movements much more efficient. Some variations don't even require the ball, just the floor...👍

For those who have dealt with neck issues, numbness, arm pain, or herniated discs: how did you manage it?

I'm also looking for recommendations for a solid physiatrist in Chicago whom I could consult regarding these issues.
Thanks.

Personally, I’ve dealt with the exact same thing (and I still deal with it, though it's currently "dormant"). I was diagnosed with an L3/L4 disc protrusion and an L4/L5 disc prolapse—essentially a herniated disc.
Since I was very active in sports for years—running, swimming, basketball—this hit me pretty hard. Running, in particular, really took a toll on my condition. Because of that, I had to step away from all of it... 🤣 I struggled with sciatica and endured some intense pain.
From my own experience, I can tell you that a chiropractor and a consistent core and back routine really helped me. I was lucky enough to have a friend who is a personal trainer here in the States, and he gave me specific guidance on which exercises to perform. Most of them involve using a large stability ball. People call it a fit ball or a Pilates ball, but the movements we do aren't actually related to Pilates. That ball was a total game-changer for me. It's widely recognized that the most effective core work happens on one...
In short, there are no shortcuts without exercise. When it comes to a herniated disc, there is no magic pill; you either go under the knife or you put in the work. I chose the latter, even though my neurosurgeon told me straight out that surgery was necessary... 👎 (mostly because he needs to make a living, too). I didn't have neck issues, but there are exercises for that as well. I tried physical therapy once, but it felt like a complete waste of time since the routines they use there seem more suited for ninety-year-olds...
Best online payment cards? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
bianconeri said:I received this card when I opened a student account package at Bank of America, so I was wondering if I can use it to shop online on sites that accept Visa credit cards.
Thanks!

You won't be able to use that card for online purchases. I tried to book a flight with Southwest Airlines a couple of months ago, and even though it showed up as an option, the transaction wouldn't go through. I called the unknown and they told me that specific card doesn't work for that—it has to be a standard Visa credit card.
Kondroin: Any experiences? in Health ·
Morgan Martin38 said:I'm thinking about trying Kondroin plus capsules to deal with some ongoing knee issues (osteoarthritis).
Does anyone have actual experience with this? I'd love to know how long you stayed on it, if you noticed any real improvement, or if you eventually gave up on it...

I just finished reading "take control of your health," which mentions that chondroitin might actually cause some negative side effects, particularly regarding prostate health in men.👎
