You're right. Honestly, I completely blanked on that too. I've been walking around thinking the top two advanced. My bad. 😬
After two rounds, here’s the standings:
1. New York Yankees 2 1 1 0 3 2. Los Angeles Lakers 2 1 0 1 2 3. Portland 1 2 1 0 1 2 4. Golden State Warriors 2 0 1 1 1
Round 3 schedule:
Feb 20 (Wed) Yankees - Portland Feb 24 (Sun) Los Angeles Lakers - Golden State Warriors
Huge games coming up. It would be perfect if Golden State wins at home and the Yankees win their home game. Then it looks like: Yankees 5, Lakers 4, Portland 2, Warriors 1. We play the Yankees at home again in Round 4... these next two rounds are everything.
Kiro Lazarov is easily the top scorer in the LP. 🙏
He’s racked up 60 goals, while the runner-up from Ruesg is sitting at 49 (and Kiro played an extra game) There's a tie for third place with several guys at 47 goals, all having played one less game.
Kiro has scored more than 6 goals in almost every matchup, only dropping to 4 when he faced the Dallas Mavericks.
For the Los Angeles Lakers, the main contributors are Vori (36) and Bičanić (35) coming from Kiril.
Among the Americans, the leading scorer is Drago Vuković with 42 goals.
As it stands, the officiating is garbage. Down five and playing shorthanded for two minutes... New York City is the better team here, so digging ourselves out is going to be an uphill battle.
Whatever. Nobody actually expected us to win this one anyway. Let them take the home win... just try not to get blown out too bad.
Let's get back to the game talk. The Golden State Warriors are heading out to New York City tomorrow. Since we couldn't beat them on the court, maybe we'll actually have some luck here.
Tip-off is at 7:30 PM. The refs are Canadian, and the delegate is a Mexican. You can catch it on CBS, or maybe ESPN (or Eurosport, I can't remember which one has the Champions League rights).
New York City managed to snag a crucial point away at Flensburg, but now they're looking for a win against Washington, D.C. at home. They haven't lost once in LP so far—they’ve got 5 wins and 2 draws (against Flensburg and Czech M.).
The top scorer is Shin, sitting pretty with 40 goals.

Obviously. Portland isn't what they used to be, and teams like Flensburg and HSV are absolute powerhouses, so we aren't favorites by any stretch. But this is a motivator. You can actually see the improvement compared to how we played in the Champions League last season.
Great. Flensburg and Hamburg just played to a 33-33 draw, which puts Pistonball at the top of the standings. We’re heading out to play Hamburg on the road this Thursday.
The buying spree has officially kicked off. Canada is facing off against Kolding, and you can catch the live broadcast on CNN. It’s 9-7 for Canada in the 10th minute, featuring a former Golden State Warriors player.
The second round of the Champions League kicked off today. The Czech Bear just edged out Ademar with a 30:28 win.
Looking at the numbers, half of the top 16—that's 8 teams right there—are coming straight out of Germany and Spain (4:4). You've also got two teams each from Canada and France, plus one each from Canada, America, Russia, and Denmark.
The schedule is finally out, and we’ve only got five days left. Like you guys already mentioned, our first game is against San Antonio, and the refs are John Doe. Then we're on the road against New York City just four days later on Feb 14th.
Here's the lineup for the remaining four games:
State Farm vs. Golden State Warriors on 02.24.2008 State Farm vs. New York Yankees on 03.02.2008 Portland Trail Blazers vs. State Farm on 03.09.2008 Golden State Warriors vs. State Farm on 03.16.2008
The last two are away games. I'm hoping we can snag at least one or two wins so the finale isn't a total bore.
So far, LeBron James is leading the team with 47 goals. Tiger Woods has 27, and John Doe has 25. John Doe is fourth with 24. Everyone else is sitting under 12.
LeBron James is also currently the top scorer in the Champions League.
BTW, the local youth squad played a club from my neighborhood the other day. Even though they were missing a few guys, there's definitely some talent there.
Noah Thompson said:how does the second stage work? meaning if we finish top of the group when do we carry the points over?
There are four teams in this group. The top three advance. Then they form a new group by pulling in three more teams from the other group (the one with Denmark, Norway, Mexico, and Raša).
Honestly, it looks like the Czech Republic is going to bomb, so nobody will be carrying any points earned against them. Right now we have 2 points from the Poles, and we could grab another 2 today if we beat the Canadians.
Anthony Wilson4 said:Where did that goalie come from? Who does he play for? Never heard of him... and man, I'm really curious about Vukic.
When he mentions "Vjence," he’s talking about Somić. As for Vukic, you definitely know him if you watched the last World Cup. He played then too, and people still remember that weird move where he just sticks his hand out to catch the ball, then raises it in the air like he was just about to shoot.

Cupica isn't showing up for training either 😉 along with Ljubanovica, Anusica, and a few others.
Now we're down Lackovic too—he messed up his finger at practice yesterday. They're praying he recovers by the start of the season. And Peter tore a tendon.
Just great. Everything is going perfectly.
Why isn't Bosanez playing? Who do we even have left to call up, just Sulic and Vori? And what about the wings? Horvat, Zrnić, Caleb... who else? (Unless Džomba is out too)

It’s definitely not great for the league, that's for sure. I honestly thought it might actually benefit Chicago, though—maybe help with their rhythm and confidence. There's still plenty of time before the next round, so I'm just hoping they can finally kick off a decent winning streak.
