So, here’s the deal—I’ve been dealing with OCD since back in 2007 or 2008, I can't quite recall the exact year. But honestly? The last two years have been a total train wreck. My OCD symptoms have mostly chilled out, but now I’m stuck in this manic-depressive loop. It feels like I’m hitting manic depression with psychosis, but my doctor is dragging her feet because she thinks I’m too young for that specific diagnosis... you know how it is, they don't want to rush things. Right now, my cocktail consists of Zyprexa 25mg in the morning, then another 50mg at night, Xanax 0.25mg twice a day, and 20mg of Elice in the morning... My memory is pretty shot, I have zero patience for anything, and the mania hits me like a freight train. I’ll blow through every cent I have in a heartbeat, and then—boom—the depression crashes down. It’s just a constant cycle, mania, depression, mania, depression... over and over. I end up doing stuff I’d never dream of doing otherwise, and when the depression kicks in, I realize what an idiot I was, but when I'm manic? Everything feels perfect. Nothing is wrong. I flip-flop on my opinions in a split second—whether it's about people or myself. And the panic attacks? They hit me out of nowhere; I can literally feel my heart pounding like it’s about to explode out of my chest. I smoke like a chimney and I drink way too much—to the point where I'm basically killing myself with alcohol, and I'm only 18. I know, I know—everyone is going to jump down my throat about being irresponsible and mixing meds with booze, but believe me, it’s stronger than me. I want to change it so bad, but I just can't. I really can't! I don't have anyone to actually talk to about this, so I figured I'd come to this forum to find some kind of solace. I spend most of my life pretending to be someone I'm not, just being a huge hypocrite... I don't know, I want to change, but I feel stuck... I’m writing this right now with a relatively clear head, but tomorrow? Tomorrow I'll probably read this and have a completely different take. I'll think I'm stronger than all this, and I'll probably just laugh at everything I wrote here... I hurt people constantly—people I don't actually want to hurt—but the thing is, I rarely even feel guilty about it... I've cycled through so many medications by now: Haldol, Prazin, Elice, Cipralex, Faverin, Depakine Chrono, Zyprexa, Valium, Xanax, Normabel, Sanval, etc... I’m at a loss, I don't know what else to do. This isn't sustainable... I'm basically destroying myself. I have suicidal thoughts quite often, though I know deep down I won't actually go through with it... If there's any professional out there who actually understands this stuff, please, give me some advice... WHAT DO I DO? I go to the psychiatrist, they talk to me for ten minutes, hand me a prescription, and say goodbye... I don't have the cash for a private specialist, and I just feel like I'm drowning... Help!
John Stewart said:What doctor? I haven't even seen a psychiatrist... two months ago, I had major spinal surgery, and every single night at the hospital, they were pumping me full of Tramadol—which totally knocks you out—along with all this other junk... because it was the only way I could actually get some sleep, even if it was just for a few hours. Everything hurt. It’s brutal when you literally can't move an inch from your bed. Ugh. Now I'm back home, and yeah, I'm still taking them. It's hard—I'm trying to push through everything, but it's so frustrating not being able to bend over and knowing I've got metal rods in my back. If something drops on the floor, I'm just stuck there, haha.
But I'm planning on getting off the pills this summer and finding some peace on my own. 🙂
Aha, hold up—so your primary care doctor prescribed the Lexapro and Normabelles for the pain or something? Look, just try not to get too reliant on the Normabelles 😁 and, honestly, like I mentioned before, you shouldn't have any issues as long as you're following the doctor's orders exactly... I really hope you feel better soon! 🙂

I've been on it for a while now and it usually works well for me, but there are those days where I forget a dose and—boom—it hits me like I'm on speed. My pupils get huge, my body feels like it's overheating, just pure euphoria... then when it wears off, I'm absolutely wiped out. I used to be able to crash right after that, but only if I had some Ambien to help.☕Like last night and earlier this morning, I could barely sleep, and when I did, the dreams were just totally wild.🙄
Honestly, like you said—that "hit me like speed" feeling? That sounds more like mania than just plain old anxiety... seriously, you should probably go see a psychiatrist ASAP and tell them exactly that! And those crazy dreams? That could definitely be from the Ambien—I mean, Ambien is notorious for causing hallucinations!
wiredmason56 said:Has anyone here ever tried or currently using this specific medication? It’s part of that particular class of antidepressants that also works as an anti-anxiety and pain reliever. I know it’s used in anesthesia settings too, sometimes even before surgery. I’ve heard from people that a lot of folks use it just to chill out or help with sleep, usually taking it at night. I’m planning to bring it up with my psychiatrist during my next check-up to see what they think. Right now, I’m on FedEx, which is alright for the most part, but my anxiety seems to have spiked lately. Plus, my sleep is a mess—it takes forever to actually drift off, and honestly, it’s driving me a little crazy😠I'm really looking forward to my appointment so I can finally dive into some of the stuff that's been weighing on me☕
Wait, are you sure it isn't mania kicking in instead of anxiety...? That actually happens quite a bit with FedEx since it's such a heavy-duty antidepressant.

So, what exactly are you taking all this for? Look, don't go killing yourself over whether it's "harmful" or not—honestly, everything can be harmful if you aren't careful with the dosage. These pills could be just as risky as alcohol, weed, or cigarettes if you start overdoing it, you know? But your psychiatrist wouldn't have prescribed this regimen if they thought it was going to wreck you. I'm pretty sure their whole goal is just to help you out—they aren't exactly looking to hand out meds that'll make things worse for you.
fadedbear92 said:Honestly, talking to your doctor is probably better than anything else—just try to stay calm about the medication. It sounds like you weren't quite ready to taper off yet, or maybe those withdrawal symptoms are just hitting you incredibly hard. Just curious, how did your psychiatrist tell you to scale back the Alice? You didn't just jump straight from the old dose to a new one without a gradual taper, did you? That would be wild.
You should probably drop the dose by a quarter pill for 3 or 4 days, then another quarter for the next 3 or 4 days, and just keep going until you're finished...
Man, I just went and dropped all my new pills at once... damn...
fadedbear92 said:Well, alright then—can you reach out to a psychiatrist, and if so, when?
Yeah, I really can't right now... I've got my follow-up appointment in less than two weeks... but I'm gonna reach out to my primary care doctor this Monday and see what they say...
fadedbear92 said:Look, you really should call 911—you can't mess around when it comes to your heart...
Man, I just downed half of Alice's drink and I'm actually feeling better now—guess those were just some dehydration symptoms kicking in...
Man, I just polished off half of Elizabeth's stash and I am absolutely wasted... honestly, who knows what’s gonna happen next? My heart is seriously doing this crazy, frantic skipping thing right now...
fadedbear92, I think things have finally settled down a bit... even though my heart is still doing those weird little skips and my head feels totally out of it... xD—like, everything is just spinning around, you know?

If Elizabeth was introduced too abruptly, it could be due to insufficient weaning.
I assume you aren't dealing with some kind of stomach flu?
If this persists, you should consult a doctor, who will likely reintroduce Alice and then taper her off much more gradually.
"Too fast"... man, I don't have any virus... honestly, forget these pills, this is killing me. At this rate, I'll need a whole cocktail of Haldol, Depakote Chrono, Prazin, and Sanval just to function... and before all this, I was on Loquen, Elizabeth, and Normabal... and now, suddenly, I've cut off the Loquen, Elizabeth, and Normabal all at once, plus this current mess... I feel like my soul is being ripped out of me... it's brutal. I'm going back to my old prescription tomorrow...

Depakene Chrono
Is that being used as a mood stabilizer? It's normally an anti-epileptic, right?
And Sanval—all of this just leaves me feeling kind of confused xD

Good grief, who wouldn't be feeling http://photos6.socializr.com/67/32/17/673217628m.jpg
So, look—I was actually diagnosed with OCD about four or five years back... but honestly? What I’m going through right now isn't even close to my old OCD symptoms. I am just completely, utterly mentally wrecked. I was put on this new medication, but there is zero chance I’m swallowing another single pill from that batch... I'm going back to what worked before... even if it means being just as high-strung and jittery as I used to be. I'm heading back to my old meds because, seriously, staying on this new stuff feels like literal suicide...
I feel like I just poured my entire soul out onto the floor—honestly, it hurts so much knowing how much I let slip... what am I even supposed to do now? Should I just take some Elizabeth and hope for the best? I feel absolutely terrible...
Kenneth Scott41 said:That’s one of the older antipsychotics, and it sounds like they gave you the mildest version available. No, you don't suck on it.😁
haha, thanks for the heads up🙂 I mean, yeah, I know it's on the milder side, but when you throw Haldol, Depakote Chrono, and Sanval into the mix on top of it? Man, that whole combo just has me feeling super foggy xD
Hey, so my psychiatrist just put me on Priscilla extended-release 25 mg... and now I’m kind of tripping over this "extended-release" thing. Like, am I supposed to suck on it or what? Anyway—oops—just swallowed it already. xD
Superman, thanks so much for getting back to me
So, I’m currently on meds for my OCD—you know how it is—and I was just wondering... if I have, like, just one single beer, is that actually gonna mess anything up? Just one, nothing crazy, but is one drink really going to be an issue?
Man, I’m seriously hitting a wall here—it’s been a month since I last had a drink and honestly, I am struggling. Like, really struggling. It’s getting hard to hold out, and now I’m spiraling a bit wondering what happens if I skip my meds tonight? So, here’s the deal: I take Luvox 25 mg in the evening, but I already took my Lexapro this morning because there's such a massive gap between when I take that and when I'd actually be drinking!!! GUYS, I NEED HELP!!! Or... is it okay if I take the Luvox and then maybe, just maybe, have one beer like two, three, or four hours later???
I was wondering—is it actually okay to have a drink while I'm on these pills?
First things first—you can't actually "cure" a hangover, you can only manage the damage control!!! If you haven't puked yet, honestly? Just go for it... it’ll make you feel so much better once it's out of your system!!! After that, hop in the shower, chug as much water or Gatorade as you can handle, and just try to sleep as much as possible!!!
