Hello everyone, Has anyone here dealt with sudden weight gain—say, 15 pounds in just three months—while on antidepressants? I’m currently taking Lexapro, which I was told wouldn't cause weight issues since it's part of a newer generation of medication. I understand that people might see some fluctuation when starting a regimen, but 15 pounds in ninety days? Is that even remotely normal? Would any of you consider tapering off your medication if you feel like absolutely nothing you've tried over the last year and a half has actually worked? I am reaching a point of genuine desperation because the bloating won't subside and I have no idea what is causing it. The only variable that has changed in my life is this antidepressant. Since I have a month-long trip planned for this coming Saturday, I would truly appreciate any advice on how I should handle this.
I have already gone through the motions of getting my thyroid and ovaries checked, and everything came back perfectly fine.
Greetings, everyone. I have a question: where in the greater New York City area can one actually purchase one of those "space" suits that supposedly melts fat? And what kind of price range are we looking at? Thanks.
What exactly is the distinction between Miller and Miller State? I just received my prescription from the psychiatrist yesterday, and I took my first 0.25 dose today; I’m feeling quite drowsy, though I’m hopeful this will subside in time. Has anyone else here dealt with any unpleasant side effects? For instance, does anyone experience that heavy, weighted sensation often attributed to Miller, or perhaps significant sleep disturbances—those specific issues listed in the warnings? And could someone clarify what "slow-release" actually implies in practice?
My apologies if this topic has already been started elsewhere; I searched, but came up empty-handed, so I figured I would just ask: does anyone actually know the distinction between Missouri and Missouri SR?
I finally picked up my prescription from the psychiatrist yesterday and took my first dose today—starting at 0.25mg. I’m feeling incredibly drowsy, though I am hopeful that this lethargy will eventually subside. Has anyone else dealt with unpleasant side effects? Specifically, has anyone experienced that heavy, weighted sensation often attributed to Missouri, or perhaps significant sleep disturbances similar to what is listed in the literature? Furthermore, what is the clinical significance of "slow-release"? I would truly appreciate hearing about your personal experiences. Thank you!
I’ve read the instructions, obviously, but I’m not looking for a manual here; I want to hear from people who actually take this stuff. Why would I trust a pamphlet when everyone reacts differently? That’s why I’m asking... Besides Barbie, has anyone else experienced a slight weight gain without the depression or anything else dragging them right back to where they started?
Robert Collins2 said:Man, Loquen has such a massive list of side effects that when I actually sat down to read the fine print, I nearly lost my mind—especially that terrifying part about how taking it long-term could lead to these uncontrollable spasms in your face and tongue...
Thankfully, I haven't dealt with any of that crazy stuff yet, even though I'm currently on 400 mg a day after starting out at a much higher 600 mg dose. Honestly, it feels like I've got some kind of supercomputer for a brain now, it's wild! 😁
Doesn't it just pin you to the bed? How on earth are you actually functioning on such a massive dose? Personally, if I take even half of that—just 50 mg before bed—I am completely out of commission until morning; they just knock me out, so don't you find them incredibly sedating?
Swarovsy, what would you have done? Before I started taking this stuff, a friend handed me two of his own, and I can tell you quite plainly that they were the most effective sleep aids I've ever used, yet I can't seem to get my hands on them now because, frankly, I've never even heard of them being prescribed, and no psychiatrist in the US is going to write a script for something like that. 😢
I find myself wondering if anyone who has been on Loquen for an extended period has encountered any adverse side effects beyond the risk of developing cataracts? Has anyone here actually experienced that? I’ve been taking it for two weeks now to combat insomnia, and I must say, it’s been quite effective; while things felt a bit strange during the initial adjustment phase, I wouldn't trade it for any other medication at this point. It puts me out just like a baby, and since I only take half a dose—50 mg—I haven't dealt with any side effects, nor have I gained weight the way I did after seeing Calixta. For my part, it works wonders, but I would truly appreciate hearing from someone who has been using it long-term regarding their experience.
Good grief, what kind of issues are you dealing with? Honestly, there’s just no saving you. What on earth are you even reading if a girl can get under your skin simply by reposting things over and over? You really need to take a breath, maybe pop a stronger sedative, and either retreat into that little fantasy world of yours or look into checking into a facility like Sunnyvale—I suspect they’re always looking for people with nerves as frayed as yours! Larry Howard8, don't you worry about a thing.
I dropped by my doctor’s office today to ask about Dormicum, only to find out she had never even heard of the drug. She pulled up her terminal—which is linked directly to their Medicare system—and discovered that this medication isn't even something you can get via a standard prescription; apparently, it is strictly reserved for patients undergoing surgery in a hospital setting. Is it any wonder that there is such a heated debate over whether general practitioners who prescribe drugs like this should face disciplinary action? After all, shouldn't such potent sedatives be restricted from being handed out just to help someone catch a few hours of sleep? What are your thoughts on this?
Well, Michael Reed45, there was a certain irony to the whole thing, wouldn't you say? 🙂)) Everyone seems to claim you need about a month to see results... though, in reality, if you experience any side effects at all, they typically taper off after two weeks, and then you're meant to feel a noticeable shift after a full month. Of course, it's entirely subjective; how one reacts depends on their specific metabolism, how their body generally handles medication, and whether they possess a natural resilience or not—it truly all comes down to the individual.
Good grief, Robert Collins2, could you dial back the intensity just a little? Honestly, maybe go grab a glass of something soothing to take the edge off. You’ve completely lost the plot here; she simply came by to ask about people's experiences, so why on earth are you launching an immediate attack?
It’s just pure weight gain. Honestly, Calixta has caused me more weight fluctuations in a shorter window than anything else I've tried; I packed on a noticeable amount of pounds in just two weeks. Once I stopped taking it, my metabolism went completely haywire. They told me it’s because the stuff significantly slows down your metabolic rate, which means food isn't being processed quickly enough, but since you're left with this relentless appetite, you keep consuming new food constantly—your stomach simply can't keep up with the digestion process, so everything just starts piling up. In my opinion, Calixta is an absolute failure!
The real issue here is that I compete in a sport where weight classes are everything; if I happen to gain just two pounds, I am automatically bumped up into a different category entirely. It isn’t something I take lightly—not by a long shot—especially since my body composition was one of the primary drivers behind my struggle with depression, and I have finally, after so much effort, managed to get myself back on track.
I initially found Calixta quite effective for getting some rest, though I eventually found myself having to bump up the dosage just to feel even a slight effect. On the other hand, Loquen strikes me as being rather potent; at this stage, I’ve been limiting myself to just half a tablet—essentially 50mg before bed—and I find myself waiting quite a while, nearly an hour and a half, for it to kick in. While I do manage to fall asleep, my sleep tends to be fragmented, leaving me waking up several times in a sort of half-slumber, yet I must admit that I feel wonderful throughout the morning and the day, and so far, there hasn't been any noticeable increase in appetite.
Well, I was prescribed both Calixta and Loquen for my depression, though I typically take them right before bed... wanderingangler90, isn't Dormicum just a hypnotic that only provides temporary relief?
sorry Betty, I missed your reply earlier. I definitely plan on researching the side effects before I pick up my prescription, especially given how unpredictable these antidepressants can be lately. That said, both Calixta and Loquen list weight gain as a frequent side effect, which is a massive concern for me since I already struggle with my weight; the last thing I need is a medication that triggers constant cravings. So far, Loquen hasn't spiked my appetite, but the sensation is incredibly strange. It takes forever to kick in, and once it finally does, I feel like I'm trapped in some sort of half-dream state. I’ll sleep, yet I never truly feel rested, waking up several times feeling completely disoriented. I usually take Starcitin during the day, whereas this is meant for bedtime—is there an antidepressant specifically designed for nighttime use that doesn't cause weight gain? To be fair, I found it much easier to fall asleep on Calixta than on Loquen, but the weight gain from that was absolutely catastrophic.
Don't play games with me; didn't they prescribe you a different medication entirely? And more importantly, did they even bother to warn you about that beforehand?
