Nobody actually died, but swapping one drug for another—does that even make sense? Or maybe it does?
William White2 said:Question for Nancy Ward37: have you ever actually seen any drugs in person?

Yeah.
rapidheron said:Drugs haven't added any depth to my life—honestly, I don't see what "profound wisdom" is slipping through my fingers. I don't see any tangible benefits from this mystical "knowledge," and I certainly don't want my kids picking up that kind of insight. As far as I'm concerned, the way the American public views drugs and addiction is perfectly fine.

In other words—thanks to what is likely systematic brainwashing by the media—my brain just links "drugs" to a specific set of associations: crime, HIV, death as a concept, rehab, communes, wasted lives, and broken families. Maybe you experts with all your specialized knowledge know that the reality is actually the polar opposite, but I'm not buying it.

Look, if you ask me, feel free to cling to all those clichés, prejudices, and that small-minded version of "normalcy" regarding this issue. I'd much rather—way, way rather—hand my kids a manual for safe drug use.

I'm with you on this one.

That’s definitely the most straightforward way to handle it. Methadone just drags the whole process out indefinitely.
Which specific work do you disagree with?
brightstag92 said:😕 I didn't realize I was promoting drugs. Thanks.

It wasn't directed at you—but then again, you didn't exactly say anything to disagree.
There’s really nothing to debate here—I am fundamentally against drugs, period.
brightstag92 said:I’d ask how old you are—but honestly, I won't. Whatever...
there’s zero point in debating this when you clearly don't know how to hold an actual argument.
I’ve already put a few posts in this thread. I have no idea where you're getting conclusions like these from. Are you hearing voices or something?
If you're just going to talk nonsense, just drop the debate.

I only said that because you claimed to agree with those two who brought up
those specific facts.
brightstag92 said:I honestly don't get why you're posting links when you've had such close contact with heroin.

Look, I wasn't foolish enough to go injecting that junk into my veins—but I have seen things I can never unsee. I knew someone who talked just like you do, someone who ended up spending 21 days straight screaming and vomiting while trying to detox. For people like that, every single day is a goddamn battle. They had everything going for them—money, status, whatever—and they were absolutely certain this wouldn't happen to them. But it did.

It baffles me why you all act so proud of your "extensive" knowledge of narcotics while looking down on the people actually fighting the struggle (and I'm not even talking about myself here).
brightstag92 said:What are you even trying to say here?
"As part of our Identity project, we want to reflect on questions regarding personal identity and the identity of Jesus Christ—the most influential figure in history..."
And you somehow stumbled upon a site that is just *so* incredibly qualified to be chatting about drugs to unconsciousness... 🙄
Look at this—they’re even inviting you to a Christian festival in Nashville.

It's funny—you can't seem to grasp how faith has pulled countless people out of the hell of addiction, so you see something negative there; meanwhile, drugs are perfectly fine with you, right? Totally cool—you probably even know the chemical formula for every single one of them.
I’m basically advocating for drugs just like you—why not? Let's get the thugs high and let those dealers line their pockets while they're at it.

So, let me address the topic title right out of the gate. In America, drugs are still such a massive taboo—and frankly, it’s strictly because people don't know what they're talking about. Even though usage has become more widespread and it’s woven itself into every single corner of our lives, it's still not something people feel comfortable discussing openly. There are folks who run from a conversation about substances like they're running from the devil himself. (And because of all that ignorance, they end up spouting nonsense and acting like they're experts 🙂 )
@Nancy Ward37—I couldn't agree with you more if I tried. Given the arguments already laid out by others here, I have no interest in quoting or repeating what's already been said.

I'm not looking for anyone to agree with me—because if you did, it would mean you've actually seen what I've seen.
Synod said:You're the textbook definition of someone blinded by prejudice—hiding behind the word "normal"—when you wouldn't even recognize normalcy if it picked you up for a date, flirted with you at a bar, got you drunk, spent the entire night in bed with you, and then actually made you breakfast in the morning!

🙄

Don't bother responding; you've already lost all credibility as a serious participant in this discussion.

You're honestly pathetic—it's clearly left you completely shaken. Disgusting.
You are the quintessential example of a weak individual who relies on drugs just to feel okay. Let me be blunt, without any sugarcoating: you are bottom-of-the-barrel. You aren't some addict passed out in a park because society failed them—you're the reason people like that exist in the first place.
None of you have any clue what you're talking about. You throw around names and chemical compositions like they're badges of honor, yet you lack the slightest understanding—and let me reiterate, you truly have *no* idea—of how much devastation and death this stuff causes.

It’s adorable how "modern" and "urban" you think you are, and how "normal" you claim to be. Truly charming. Enjoy your hollow lifestyle.

Here—take a look at this. Let's see who's actually talking sense and who's just talking nonsense.
I'm starting to realize how foolish I've been even bothering to argue with you—because if you honestly believe that needing drugs is a baseline for being a "normal" person, then we're clearly past the point of any meaningful conversation.
Hannah Davis18 said:Look, you don't even need to ask—just pick up any newspaper and scan the crime section; just look at how many people daily die from drunk driving, drownings, or getting wasted and then starting fights with whatever weapons they can find.

So, if you actually consider yourself "normal"😲 then I guess I’m definitely on the other side of the fence; fine, if that's how we're playing it.
😍

The whole argument 🤔that drugs are inherently "worse"😉 falls apart when you see how many people are out there using the exact same substances for recreation.

Alright, my bad—I didn't realize I was dealing with someone whose brain is fried, so let me simplify this for you: how many people actually die from drug overdoses versus alcohol poisoning? Seriously, tell me which organization you're supposedly helping, because I’m genuinely curious—where exactly are you "helping" addicts stop using? Are you trying to help them, or are you more likely the type to supply them just so they feel better—or heaven forbid, get them drunk, since alcohol is clearly a much bigger issue than drugs.

It feels like it's at the base of the toe, almost like the whole thing is going to fall off. What could this be, and what should I do?

Just go see a doctor. It could be a fungal infection or something similar. They'll give you a prescription cream and call it a day.
Hannah Davis18, just say NO—and for once, actually believe in yourself.
