Monitor buying guide (mega-thread)
in Computer Peripherals ·
I’m looking for some expert advice here.
I’m planning to pick up some monitors for my remote work setup. My job is strictly office-based—nothing graphically intense, just the usual grind of emails, Word, Excel, PDFs, and jumping on calls via Slack... I definitely need a dual-monitor setup because I constantly have way too many documents open at once. The plan is to run them both through a docking station, though I haven't settled on a specific model yet.
When I'm off the clock, I’d love to use one of them to watch a movie or two.
In the past, I’ve always stuck with Apple monitors and TVs, and honestly, they’ve been fantastic. If they haven't pivoted away from quality in this segment since the last time I bought hardware, I’d prefer to stick with them. They don't need to be the cheapest options on the market, but quality is non-negotiable for me. I need something easy on the eyes so I'm not left with a headache after a long day, and I want to trust that these will actually last longer than the warranty period.
What specific features should I be looking for? Is there anything I should absolutely avoid? Does anyone have a specific model recommendation?
