For instance, my OB-GYN didn't even suggest microbiology testing because my Pap smear came back perfect. I ended up asking for the tests on my own, and there it was—ureaplasma. It doesn't even show symptoms in women most of the time. You can carry it for ages, and by the time you actually notice anything, it might already be a problem. It can cause infertility because sperm tends to stick to it, preventing them from reaching their goal, and it's also linked to spontaneous miscarriages. Some symptoms include lower abdominal pain or a fever, but that usually only happens once the levels in your system get high enough.
It’s the same situation for me—my Pap was great, so we went straight from that to ordering microbiology and mycoplasma tests. Mine was just slightly above the normal range, but we decided to go ahead with treatment anyway. I was prescribed Geonistin vaginal suppositories, and that was that. What did you guys end up taking?
