My cousin spent months struggling through this process, but she couldn't manage to correct her entire prescription—she was sitting at around -5, if I recall correctly... and after some time, her vision just reverted right back to where it started. 👎
It might be a more viable option for those with minor issues, though; living for extended periods without any corrective lenses is an exhausting ordeal.
So far, the most effective remedy I’ve found is that little Herplex cream. During the first and second days, I apply it to the herpes outbreak every two or three hours. Before I put on a fresh layer, I make sure to wipe away the old residue with a damp cotton swab. By the third day, that nasty, painful blister usually vanishes. After that, I alternate between applying Herplex and using Vaseline; if I use nothing but the Herplex, the skin gets way too dry and starts cracking. On the fourth day, I just stick to the Vaseline. In my experience, this is the fastest way to get rid of a fever sore.
A few years back, a neighbor I met while vacationing on the coast gave me some anti-nausea gum. She’s originally from Switzerland and picked them up at a local pharmacy there. It’s remarkably effective—as soon as you feel the nausea hitting, you pop one in, and within minutes, you're fine. I imagine you might be able to find something similar in a major hub like Chicago or New York, though I've heard rumors about anti-nausea patches being an option too. The real question is whether those are even available here in the States.
