Schizophrenia - General Discussion

Question: My mother was forcibly hospitalized at Ribbon psychiatric last week, and today she was transferred over to Queens. I’m looking for some insight—has anyone dealt with this? She’s doing really poorly. This is her third hospitalization in just 7 or 8 months. The hospital and her doctor are pushing us to talk to a social worker to figure out her legal status and how we all move forward, because honestly, our whole family is at a breaking point. We’re considering moving her into a long-term care facility so she doesn't come back home while her status is being sorted out. She ended up in the hospital after physically attacking her husband (not the first time), which brought the police and paramedics to the house... We have a two-year-old. The situation is bad. Any advice?? Her mental health has been spiraling for about two years now. She has schizophrenia.
