From what I've seen, people in the Wing Tsun community really do spend way too much time bickering over the small stuff.

The whole reason we use the term _ing __un is simply because there are so many different spellings floating around:
Wing Tsun, Ving Tsun, and all that other nonsense...

Honestly, all that arguing is pointless; everyone knows Uimg Dsum is the gold standard.
It was taught by Jgwie Mnung and includes those specialized anti-aircraft techniques.

I didn't hear anything particularly interesting tonight.

Haha, 😁not quite

You just need the right cable, and if your sound card—assuming you're using an integrated one like mine—has three ports, one of them should be an audio input. You might just need to adjust some settings...

Oh, that could actually work! 👍
But I’ve decided I'm going to upgrade my sound card anyway; I need something that can handle recording via microphone.
It's for adding audio effects to some indie films I'm working on. 🤣

I run a line-out from my audio source straight into my sound card—I'm using Adobe Audition since that's what I have on hand, though any software works. Since my sound card is just some cheap integrated junk and I'm using budget cables, there's a bit of background hiss, but the audio comes through clearly enough. Then I just export it as an MP3...

My setup can't even record with a microphone. Literally nothing.
The line-in is ancient; it doesn't even have an input.
I definitely need to upgrade my sound card. 😬
Right now, my only option is recording on my phone and converting it to an MP3, which actually sounds decent.

I tried using the built-in Sound Recorder, but no luck there either.

NOTE: whatever you do, stay far away from those cheap generic sound cards.

Jeremy Evans80 said:You can actually set up your sound recorder so the output acts as the input, allowing you to capture everything playing through your speakers. Just keep in mind that the default Windows Sound Recorder usually caps recordings at one minute.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot! 👍
I actually have a little trick for recording longer than a minute.
Just load a long song into the player and hit record.
I haven't done this in ages, so please excuse me if I missed anything.

hiddensailor14 said:And if I record it? Who would even care?

Well, you definitely could, because this is going to be a massive UFC showdown.
I'd certainly be interested. 😬
I've been searching for recording software, but nothing I've found seems to capture audio from an online radio station.
Or maybe my sound card is just completely trashed.

ITF uses less protective gear and stays closer to the traditional roots, whereas WTF is geared more toward Olympic competition standards.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Where on earth did you find such unique segments to put this together?
I see it’s made entirely of that and some screws...
If I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, you did a fine job putting it all together 🙏

"Warrior" is such an expansive concept that there isn't really a single right answer.
And when it comes to tournaments (if that's what you mean), individuals win because of their own grit and hard work, so... I honestly don't even know how to respond to a question like that. 😕

On the other hand, if you have no interest in striking, why bother with Karate? There’s actually some logic to those questions after all... 😁

🙂

Hey, let’s not be sarcastic here—I was just asking nicely. 😛

This is a bit off-topic, but I don't get why everyone keeps sending that link to people who can't decide.
I mean, how can a few simple questions actually help someone pick the "right" martial art?
Consider the fact that one of the questions asks what kind of pants you prefer, and apparently, that dictates your entire training path.
Personally, I find it totally useless 😕

What’s everyone’s take on this?
Is there anything even remotely similar over in NYC? If not—which I'm guessing is a safe bet—what would be the closest thing to it? (Ideally somewhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn, just around those areas.)

Krav Maga. It’s more than just a system; it’s a necessity for anyone looking to truly understand self-defense.
I know you can find plenty of options at the flea market.
There might be more out there somewhere, though I can't say for certain.

Check out this Krav Maga site:

The point was simply that you shouldn't let every little thing that might happen in life get under your skin.

I agree.
But I’m not stressing over "every single little thing," as you put it; I was just curious.
Have you ever actually been curious about something, or do those basic human instincts just not apply to you? 😎 😬
I wasn't worried about the actual odds of someone walking up to me with HIV and passing it to me—it's about how that scenario would play out.
It's purely hypothetical! 😁
Really now.

Try adding some squats, sit-ups, bench dips (http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...tBenchDip.html), and standard dumbbell exercises to your routine.
