True, but the issue is that if there isn't a designated path, you're supposed to move at a pedestrian's pace. In other words, you can't really do it, because if you're just cruising at walking speed, what's even the point of having a bike?
stormyheron4 said:Someone in the comments under the article mentioned you can actually ride on the sidewalk, and I read somewhere online too that traffic laws allow it if riding in the street feels too risky.
That basically applies to almost every street with any kind of car traffic. It wouldn't even be an issue if the driving culture in America was at a much higher level. From what I gather, if a cop pulls you over for being on the sidewalk, you just tell them you felt unsafe on the road, and that's that.🤷
Man, they aren't even in Washington, D.C. anymore; I haven't run into them in ages. True, though, a scooter is a whole different ballgame once you get past the first few steps. 🙂

Those BMWs are just too bulky and sluggish to chase down a cyclist.
The reality remains that when you're on a bike, it's practically impossible not to break a few traffic laws.
I’m not at all surprised that cyclists cause chaos on the roads, just like this article claims. It's simply because we're the only ones out here without dedicated lanes to move in. I ride my bike every single day for work, running errands, and pretty much everything else. I can't get anywhere without mixing lane riding, street riding, and sidewalks. If I actually had better options, I might do things differently, but I don't. As for those fines: if a cop actually manages to pull me over while I'm on my bike, I’ll happily pay the ticket. But that hasn't happened yet, and it won't happen until they start riding bikes themselves—because as long as they're on foot, in cars, or on motorcycles, all they can do is stare at my rear end and curse me out like they always have.

What a ridiculous song. Some idiot singing about breakdancing. Hahahaha.
The funniest song ever. But honestly, it wasn't written while they were high, it was written because they were probably tripping on something from a commune!!

😂 I was thinking the exact same thing, but I just can't believe a sane mind could actually come up with that and take it seriously. This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't be "clean" (assuming he actually was). Once I finally stopped laughing, the first thing I wanted to do was reach for a needle.
Thank God my job has YouTube blocked, otherwise I would have clicked this link and my entire workday would be ruined.🤣
P. S. There are even wilder tracks out there, but I don't want to clutter this thread which is already full of terrible songs.
That thing from the old days, I think it was called "No Drugs." They used to air it on ABC around midnight.
It goes like this:
No drugs, I'll take what I can get
No joints, no weed
A healthy lifestyle is the new trend
Life without drugs, that's the goal
And it just loops like that for about five minutes. It's terrible.
If that wasn't written under the influence of heroin mixed with coke, speed, and ecstasy, then I don't know what was.
Does anyone know where I can pick up some polystyrene beads? You know, that stuff used to fill bean bags like a Fatboy or something similar? Just please don't suggest Home Depot—they didn't have any idea what I was talking about at either the downtown or the suburban locations.
neonwalker19 said:So, last Saturday around 8 PM, I took a nasty fall and wrecked my left ankle. It hurt, sure, but nothing crazy at first. Then around 3 AM, the pain hit me like a truck and the swelling got so bad I didn't know what to do with myself. I went to the ER and they did some scans—nothing broken, apparently. The doctor seemed half-asleep and barely said two words to me. Long story short, they slapped me in a splint and told me to come back in two days. Well, I showed up on Tuesday, they opened the splint, and then they tell me I can't take it off yet and have to wear it for another 8 days. Now there’s some note about an "ex-splint" and physical therapy. My ankle is still swollen on the outside, and if I understood them right (they talk so fast it's impossible), it's a torn tendon. So now what? What the hell is an "ex-splint," how long is this recovery actually going to take, because it's been 6 days and it still hurts like crazy and won't go down? And what does "physical therapy" even mean here? Is that something I do at home or do I need to head over to a clinic near where I live? HELP me out here.
I'm no doctor, but I've dealt with injuries like this plenty of times. You're looking at at least a month before you're fully recovered. That doesn't mean you won't be walking, just that you shouldn't go running or do any heavy sports. I assume the therapy just means doing some light range-of-motion exercises once the splint finally comes off. If you aren't an athlete, it’s really not that big of a deal.
