My bad, I phrased that a bit clunky—all I meant was this:

Arthur Brown6 said:I honestly need to rewind everything back to '97, when I finally got my hands on those Spoon CDs—specifically the Tago maga and Unlimited Edition releases. Huge thanks to every atom in Space for making sure that happened right then. Also, shoutout to MTV for how they programmed stuff back in '95, and to viva Zwei for playing that "Oh Yeah" video during that era. Czukayev basically performed brain surgery on me with that one, and I'm damn grateful for it—not to mention the pure bliss of every single beat from Liebezeit's drumming.

So, you got this? 😁

Anyway, joining in on the congrats—big thanks to the mods for keeping this thread alive over the last year. 👍It popped up right when everyone was getting shut down in real life because of COVID, forcing us all to go hard on the virtual hangouts. Now we’re left with this massive archive of like a hundred albums, plenty of which barely have any comments, so there's definitely enough to dig through for the upcoming summer days and nights.

It honestly bugs me that people here are acting like he’s the worst Album of the Week winner ever...
I'll start a thread about this later today. 🕺

Don't take it personally—I was just being honest about the music. I had suggestions that wouldn't have pulled a single vote. 😁Besides, he earned this win fair and square, which is more than can be said for some of the previous winners. 👍😉

Two albums popped up this time. Terence Trent D'Arby—and I mean this in the worst way possible—is easily one of the weakest picks for Album of the Week. Aside from a few tolerable singles, it’s just cookie-cutter pop-soul designed for the masses. If he were running for Mayor of New York in this race, he'd be basically a populist hack. 😁
On the flip side, that Riley/Cherry combo is killer, topped off by a massive 12-minute improvisation from Cologne that acts as the perfect cherry on top. Honestly, I'm already craving more from Cherry. 👍

Man, I finally figured out who that Crow guy is—just some idiot who keeps getting kicked out of the movies. 😁

Anyway, moving on with the review vibes. ☕

So what, people who play by the rules get treated the exact same way as the cheaters? Fine. If that's how it works, I'm done wasting my breath on this thread. 👋

I really hope they disqualify that clone creator proposal—just gotta keep things fair for everyone else actually playing by the rules. 😉

That’s the whole point of listening to full albums—stuff you hate at first can actually turn out to be fire later. 🙂 If I could just cut out those "glitchy" bits, it would be perfect, but otherwise, I'm digging it. :P

Glad to hear it. 👍
Who knows—after a couple more listens, you might find you can't even imagine the album without those weird parts. 😁

Gerald Jackson48 said:Watching some amateurish garbage play against Fadil from the sidelines is more than enough reason to give him a piece of my mind.

I was planning on stepping up and calling him out too, but then this new cowboy rode into town:

then try listening to it on vinyl 😁

____________

Empire II totally hypnotized me 🙏

Honestly didn't even notice... unless someone took it way too personally? 😁

We’ve already seen an example here of a super quiet, low-key album of the week triggering a massive ego trip from people. Maybe Hassell's record has that same effect? 😁
