Any medication containing a corticosteroid might help manage asthma, but they all trigger changes—side effects that hit other parts of your body. We really have to stay sharp and notice exactly what those changes are and how intense they get.

For instance, I’m 25 and developed asthma this past summer. I’ve been using Alvesco, which I picked up at my local pharmacy after getting a recommendation during an ER visit in my suburban neighborhood. Since starting it, I've dealt with some bizarre side effects I've never experienced before.

My digestion is completely shot; sometimes I'm running to the bathroom three times a day, and other times I go two days without needing to go at all.

Then there's the fungal issues on my feet—something actually mentioned in the warning label.

Corticosteroids are some of the most potent substances we put into our bodies, so it's almost a guarantee that side effects will pop up. You just have to know what to look for.
I can't breathe in Health ·
I figured I’d weigh in since we’re talking about breathing issues. For a while, I thought my coughing fits were just weird—like I was doing something wrong with how I moved my tongue or something equally ridiculous. Then yesterday, I woke up with my throat completely closing up. No coughing, just nothing. Total panic mode. I tried to catch my breath, managed to get some air slowly, and my buddy rushed me straight to the ER. After running some tests, they gave me an official diagnosis: asthma. Now I’m walking around with two different inhalers instead of one...
Sometimes you really have to go get the full workup just to get some peace of mind...
I’d been struggling with my doctor for a month trying to figure out what was going on, but he couldn't pin it down until I practically forced my way into the hospital. We all just assumed it was the usual bronchitis that hits me every year...
Formula 1 car back at the Nürburgring in Formula 1 ·
It’s practically impossible to host a Formula 1 race there. You’d need a small army of marshals just to watch every single corner, and if someone crashes, you'd probably need ten safety cars on standby. Maybe they'll pull it off one day, but if I were running Formula 1, I'd organize it like this:
This race would be a standalone event in the calendar, held mid-season with three-week breaks both before and after. The winner gets 20 points, second gets 15, third gets 10, and then we drop by 2 points for everyone else. Every driver who actually finishes the race walks away with at least one point.
I'm fresh out of ideas... throw yours in the comments!
