Hormone testing: Need some help! in Health ·
Aim for day three or four of your cycle. If day three falls on a Saturday and the clinic in my town 😠 is closed on weekends, just go on Friday instead. If day three hits on a Sunday, wait until Monday. It’s a little confusing, but the goal is to stay within a day or two of that third day. Don't worry about fasting; this isn't like a glucose test. You'll have to pay for the labs unless you have supplemental insurance or an exemption card. When I did mine without coverage, it cost about $12 for four hormones. Results here usually take anywhere from three to twenty days depending on their current supply of those specific markers. Maybe things work differently in Chicago, but hopefully you won't be waiting forever. Good luck 👍
Oh, I almost forgot—the best part is that you don't actually need an appointment (which is lucky, since booking here usually requires scheduling 🙄 thirty days in advance). Your referral will typically specify day three, but even if it doesn't, just tell the receptionist. They know the drill 😬
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
anunaki said:Iron helps some people. Give it a shot.

👎 It was actually the exact opposite for me. I never had any issues with chemicals until I started taking iron supplements for anemia—the kind where the label explicitly warns about side effects. Once I stopped, everything cleared up. What a relief.🙏
Memory issues / Forgetfulness in Health ·
One of those thousand potential culprits behind memory issues? Hypothyroidism—basically when your thyroid decides to take a permanent vacation.

😲 See a doctor. Now. Or sooner rather than later. Sudden speech impairment and loss of consciousness aren't things you just brush off without a neurological exam. Go get checked out, even if it's just for peace of mind. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.😘
Low Hemoglobin Levels: What should I know? in Health ·
My hemoglobin levels constantly dip because of iron deficiency. It usually boils down to three things: poor dietary intake, an inability to absorb what you eat—perhaps due to a vitamin or enzyme deficiency—or actual blood loss within the body.
Wishing you nothing but the best with your little girl 😘
