Ordering medication from overseas in Health ·
Thanks, everyone! I actually checked in with a customs officer at one of the border crossings near Canada, and he told me it's perfectly fine to bring the medication over from Canada as long as you have your medical history documentation on hand. Cheers to all!

Thanks, Lisa Myers! Honestly, I think I’ll just let it slide and not report him. If they end up tracking him down, I’ll just play dumb! The real issue is that I’m from the Midwest, so customs agents might find it pretty suspicious why I was trekking all the way over to Canada, you know?

My daughter is struggling with asthma, and her specialist over at the Mayo Clinic has determined that she needs to start immunotherapy. The medication itself is manufactured in France, but I’ve been sourcing it from a supplier in Brežice. It runs me about $100 per dose. My question is: do I need to declare this at the border, and am I going to get hit with customs duties? I have all the official medical documentation regarding her condition, and since this specific medication isn't available here in the States, I don't really have any other way to get it.
Hyposensitization in Health ·
My daughter is eleven years old, and according to our doctor, she’s looking at a three-year treatment plan just to get to a baseline. Even then, we’re hoping for at least ten years of stability afterward, though they did mention that in most cases, the body eventually learns to manage the allergy on its own. Her biggest triggers right now are cats, dust mites, and general dust, plus she’s dealing with vasomotor rhinitis on top of everything else. I am rooting for everyone here—I truly wish you all nothing but successful treatments!

Hi there, Aaron Collins25! I don't have much firsthand experience with this yet, but my daughter is currently receiving treatment at Srebrenjak under Dr. Plavec. He’s recommended we try hyposensitization, so I’ve already ordered the medication she’ll need. Once they give us the call, we'll be heading over to Brežice to pick everything up since the supply is sourced from France—that should happen in about one or two weeks. We're looking at roughly $100 per dose, which should actually cover her for an entire year. As for the hyposensitization itself, it’s a marathon, not a sprint; she’s looking at a three-year commitment. I’ve been spending plenty of time scouring various forums reading through people's experiences, and let me tell you, the stories are all over the map. It's a real mixed bag out there, but I am holding onto the hope that this will finally be the solution she needs.
