I’m having a nightmare with this thing. I’ve been using it for years to back up data from Synapse, but they must have pushed an update because the new interface is useless. I can't upload anything, and my files have completely vanished!
I’ve been searching everywhere for a support email, but I’m getting nowhere. Does anyone know how to actually get a hold of them?div>
Accountants and fellow travelers, I need some help.
I'm not sure what's going wrong, but even after logging in properly with my digital certificate, I can't upload a single form for any of my clients. When I click "SELECT FILE," the pop-up window simply doesn't appear, so I can't browse my computer to upload anything.
I called tech support and they pointed me toward the IRS. I contacted them and we verified my certificate; everything looks fine. I also stopped by my local IRS branch, and they said everything is in order on their end. I've updated everything possible on my computer and tried Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox, but nothing works.
And the end of the year is already creeping up on us. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
That's it. I'm giving up after searching for two days without finding a solution. Does anyone know a professional in the Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, or Little Rock area who handles this?
I managed to use EaseUS data recovery to find the software on my drive and restore it. However, now when I try to launch it, I get an error saying I can't run this application on my PC and need to check if the software publisher has a version compatible with my system.
Any help would be appreciated...
I swapped out my motherboard and moved my Windows installation over to an SSD, while keeping everything else on an M.2 drive.
Since I was using an OEM version of Windows, I had to buy a new license for this "new system," and because of that, the IRS website wouldn't work for me.
I reinstalled all the necessary software, including the JRE. After I rebooted the computer, it automatically prompted me for a new Java update.
Once I downloaded it, I had to select an empty directory for the installation. I chose a folder on my M.2 drive, but the Java installer somehow wiped the entire drive clean—including my accounting software and all my data for the whole year.
What should I do?
I recently picked up an iPhone 6s and followed it up with some Meta Quest 2 goggles. I've been using Oculus Rift along with Steam streaming, but I've hit a snag. When I slide the phone into the headset, I can only see the center of the screen. Everything looks heavily zoomed in. We're clearly missing a step here somewhere.
Has anyone else tried gaming this way?
Does anyone have drivers for this piece of junk:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/smart-card-reader-example-linkI found the drivers on a CD-ROM, but the noise coming from the CD-ROM sounds more like a grinding sander than a drive. I called the idiots over at Best Buy, and they claimed either the CD-ROM is defective or I damaged the disc. Neither of those is true...
I've never really gone down the rabbit hole on technical specs. My main goal was just squeezing every bit of performance out of my current setup. Since the LGA 1155 socket is pretty outdated and I snagged a great deal on the CPU, I decided against upgrading the motherboard and processor. Instead, I put that money toward a used graphics card.
I'm looking at getting a new monitor soon. Do you think it's better to go with a 4K high-resolution screen or stick with a standard HD model that offers a higher refresh rate? Personally, I'm leaning toward 4K, but the price tag is steep. Honestly, I’m even considering putting that cash toward a PS VR headset instead.
Here is my current setup:
I'm running an ASUS P8H77M motherboard with an ASUS GTX 970 STRIX installed in the single PCIe 3.0 slot. The CPU is an Intel Core i5-3570K. I have an old mechanical HDD for storage, but all my games are on a Samsung M.2 drive which supports PCIe 3.0. I also have 8 GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz and I'm running Windows 10 Pro.
I found a video online explaining how to enable PCIe 3.0, since everything seems to be defaulting to 2.0. The guy in the video claimed he saw a massive jump in FPS after doing this. I followed his steps exactly, but no matter what game I play, I'm stuck at "only" 60 FPS. Has anyone dealt with this before?
The other issue is that everything runs on DirectX 11 regardless of what I do. I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, and System Info says everything is DirectX 12 compatible, yet the performance stays on the older version. Any idea why?
I get what you're saying, but when I was playing Dark Souls on my old processor, it ran at 100% load just to hit 25 FPS, and it was silent. Now, even with ultra settings, I'm getting 60 FPS at about 60% load, yet the fan is significantly louder.
I suspect the stock cooler that came with the CPU isn't much to write home about, and I'd rather not bother swapping the old one out right now. I'll handle that once I pick up an M.2 drive and see how things look then.
I recently picked up this processor on eBay, and it arrived with the stock Intel cooler. I’m pretty happy with the purchase, but there is one issue. The fan on the CPU cooler gets incredibly loud whenever I'm gaming.
I'm not sure if this is normal behavior. I used to run an Intel Core i3-2120 with the stock Intel cooler, and it was practically silent. For context, my current setup has 8GB of 1600 MHz RAM, an ASUS GTX 970, and an ASUS P8H77-M motherboard...
Problem solved! It turns out I just needed to format it to NTFS instead of FAT32...😵
And I actually paid $12 for this...
I recently picked up a 256GB card on eBay, and I'm certain the capacity isn't fake. I put it into an adapter and connected everything to my PC for storage.
After formatting it, I moved a massive amount of data over. However, I can't figure out why the files vanish every time I unplug the drive from my computer. For instance, if I load a movie onto the card and plug it into my TV to watch, the card shows up empty. It isn't an issue with the TV, because when I plug it back into the PC, everything is gone.
So, is this a problem with the card being a dud, or is the adapter the culprit?
Let me know what you think.
No, that’s not what I meant at all. Here’s the scenario: I enter the customer info in cell A6, but then I need to jump straight to G16 to input the invoice number. Right now, if I hit Enter or try to Shift my way over, I’m forced to click through every single row from A7 down to A16, or drag across B16, C16, and so on. There has to be a way to jump directly from A6 to G16 with just one keystroke. Download a standard IRS tax form and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
Does anyone know how to skip cells in Excel? For example, I want to jump from cell A1 directly to E20 by pressing Shift or Enter. It would work like those Chase Bank tax forms you download online.
