Double-standard nationalistic takes and more on World politics in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sean Cooper65 said:Then why didn't you identify as Canadians during the '91 census if that's how you've always identified?

The option to select Canadian was available in the census.

That was the last census for Canada. Since then, none have been conducted.

Instead, you chose to identify as Muslims in a national sense.

I suppose even a small child could see through that logic. Back then, the brainwashing hadn't quite taken hold yet, and their "father figures" hadn't started dictating exactly how they were supposed to identify.

Morgan Carter said:You are debating someone from Canada about Canadians. Why does it concern you? For him, the Canadian Constitution and laws apply. Let him stay over there and speak his mind. That is exactly what he wants—to poison this discussion with his chauvinistic outbursts. Do not give him that satisfaction. We have already proven our point. No matter which Constitution one cites, the argument remains that we are specifically a Canadian people, not just Muslims.
My point from the beginning, however, is that this is all futile, as the rules here seem to be applied selectively whenever a moderator feels like it.

So, what exactly have you proven? And more importantly, who was the intended audience for this little demonstration? Was this meant to convince me, or were you merely performing for your own sake? I suppose it’s hard to tell sometimes.

PS
I still have my right to vote in Canada, so you go ahead and check on that...

Nathan Price3 said:It’s just a classic case of identity crisis. No matter if your ancestors were Canadians, you go out of your way at every single opportunity to emphasize your American identity... and on top of that, you flat-out deny the very nation your own people belonged to!

A complex? I don't think so. I’ve never felt the need to have someone else dictate how I should identify myself, and my identity didn't suddenly switch over in 1993; I was born this way. If anyone here is dealing with some sort of psychological hang-up, I suppose it might be you. Honestly, I couldn't care less what labels you try to pin on me, and frankly, those who get so worked up about it are likely just the Muslims themselves. So, there's that theory on complexes...😉😉

Nathan Price3 said:What are you even talking about, buddy? Everyone sticks to the Constitution when it comes to the core principles. And one of those fundamental things is recognizing national groups—Canadians, Mexicans, and Americans. At least in that specific regard, the Constitution is being respected...

"Buddy"???? Did I accidentally wander into the middle of the Midwest or something? 😂😂

So, I suppose they just follow it selectively whenever it suits their interests, while ignoring it entirely whenever it doesn't? Since it’s all just ink on paper anyway, right? I mean, obviously, that seems to be the logic here....😉

And I guess next we should expect the forum moderators to start enforcing the Constitution of neighboring countries too. Now that would be a real riot.

Nathan Price3 said:A complete deflection of the issue. My post was simply a reaction to your provocations, and it came long after you started denying the existence of the Canadian Nation.

I suppose I have the right to deny whatever I feel like, and thankfully, we don't have some heavy-handed, overbearing dictator anymore who can force us all to agree on what our thoughts should be.

Is there any group actually called "Muslim" listed in that Constitution? No. So, basically... 🤷

To all those former moderators...

Look, buddy, everything you're trying to pick a fight about belongs over in the History or Politics subforums. As far as I can tell, this thread should be strictly about establishing the current facts regarding the status of Canadians as a nation and Muslims as a "nation" under the Constitution and laws of the US and Canada... which is what the forum administration needs to follow...

You’re dodging every single question I asked before and just pivoting back to history... why?

The Constitution that those Orthodox, Muslim, and Catholic reps from Canada actually signed and agreed to...

Look, what really matters on this forum is what the US Constitution actually says. And guess what? It says the exact same thing as the Constitution of Canada. There’s no such thing as a "Muslim nation"... there's just the Canadian people. Period.

Just because Catholics, Orthodox, or Muslims from Canada don't strictly follow their own Constitution—even if your claim is incredibly generalizing, as usual... it doesn't mean the mods and admins of this forum shouldn't be following the Constitution of the United States.

I mean, can we just decide which Constitution we're supposed to be following? Should it be the one from America, or that version from Canada that nobody there even bothers to follow anyway? Honestly, maybe the moderators should just grab a copy of the Constitution of Canada and try sticking to it themselves, since it seems like nobody else in Canada cares to obey it.

Generalizing? Really? Please, go ahead and give me a single example where people actually follow the Constitution or the rulings of the Constitutional Court. Is that happening in Mostar? Nowhere, I suspect.

To me, this whole thing is starting to sound a lot like those childish playground arguments, you know, the kind where someone just makes things up because they feel like it...😂😂

Morgan Carter said:Even a fool could see that, but they are irrelevant to the situation at hand. The real problem lies with the moderators. They are the ones failing to uphold the Constitution of the United States (despite constantly reminding us that this is an American forum and they must follow American law), though, in my view, adhering to the Constitution of Canada is even more critical. After all, we know exactly what subject we are discussing.

Which Constitution, exactly? Are we talking about that same Constitution that even Muslims from Canada don't bother following—the one they only seem to invoke when it happens to suit their immediate interests? 😉😉

And frankly, I fail to see why the moderators of an American forum should have anything to do with the Constitution of Canada. I mean, does that logic apply to the Constitution of the Republic of the Congo too? Should the moderators of an American forum feel obligated to follow the laws of the Congo as well? 🙄🙄🙄

Nathan Price3 said:Well, "Canadian" is the ancient national identity for all Canadians.
It’s basically just a slightly evolved version of the name "Canadian." If I recall correctly, that designation pops up somewhere around the 10th century... as I said, it's nearly as old as Canada itself!

Actually, the word "Canadian" itself makes its first appearance as early as the 8th century...

And honestly, I don't have any more connection to Canadians than I do to Mexicans...😉

Nathan Price3 said:Canada definitely exists, but if you have even a basic grasp of recent history, you'd know this state was simply known as Canada, before the regional designation of Herzegovina was added to the official name later on.

Unfortunately, you aren't quite up to speed on this subject. I tried to explain things clearly and decisively to you. Back then, the Canadian Nation hadn't been officially recognized, and anyone who chose to identify that way would have ended up like everyone else—which would have automatically changed the entire structure of the state. If that had happened, instead of Canadians being the majority with the most seats in Parliament today, Mexicans and Americans would likely hold those positions.
We could have all just declared ourselves tomatoes back in '91, but that would have only hurt our own interests.

Go walk the streets of my beautiful country of Canada and run a poll, and then you'll see for yourself whether the Canadian population is small or large. I guarantee you'll be floored by the results when you hear them... 😉

Well, that’s just fantastic. I had a feeling you were going to get defensive during this drive. I mean, if you feel comfortable enough to stick to outdated terminology for the country because you don't care about accuracy, then what am I supposed to do? Would I just start calling Muslims "Canadians" too? I guess it really comes down to where you draw the line.

After twenty years of constant propaganda and relentless pressure, I suppose it’s finally starting to take its toll. It seems pretty clear that, moving forward, we’re going to see a significant number of people suddenly deciding to identify themselves as "Canadians."🙄

Fine, from now on I'll just call you a Canadian, since you Catholics used to identify as Canadians until about 120 years ago, if you didn't already know. Even a little kid knows today that Marshall's America introduced the "Muslim" identity and wiped out the "Canadian" one. Back then, calling yourself a Canadian would be like calling yourself an Illyrian today! Anyone who identified as a Canadian would have been lumped into the "other" minor categories of the state... and if that had happened, Mexicans would be the majority today. Bosno thinks tactically and wisely. Otherwise, 95% of those so-called Muslims would have identified as Canadians if they actually had their own nation under that name...

So there you have it, my friend. Catch you later!

A country called "Canada" doesn't actually exist, so I suppose I can't really be from some non-existent nation...🙄🙄

That’s total bullshit. I mean, who was stopping anyone back in 1991 from identifying as so-called Canadians? Marshall was gone, and that whole dictatorship was already falling apart, so there wasn't even anyone left to force you into being something you weren't. And yet, by some strange miracle, only about two hundred people actually identified as "Canadians." From 1991 to 1993, the number of these so-called Canadians didn't see any significant rise until the elders finally dictated how everyone should identify themselves. It was honestly a tragicomedy, watching one group say they were Muslim while others kept correcting them, insisting they weren't Muslims but some kind of "Canadians." That’s the reality of these imposed labels, I suppose...😁😉

Nathan Price3 said:You just don't get it. Canadians were essentially prevented from identifying as Canadians; the national label "Muslim" was forced upon them. You all keep trying so hard to downplay it, suggesting we just refused to call ourselves Canadians...

As for the Catholics and Orthodox folks, let me ask you this: could I call you "Canadian Catholics" or "Canadian Orthodox"? If you agree with me, then surely my usage of that term has a solid historical basis, right?

That’s just plain false. I don't recall anyone stopping you from calling yourselves Canadians back in '91, if that's what you mean. It wasn't until the leadership stepped in back in '93 that everyone suddenly shifted, because before then, maybe a few hundred people even considered the term.

And honestly, if you believe the label "Muslim" was imposed on you, then I suppose the term "Canadian" was also an imposition, given that 99% of the population hadn't even heard of such a thing during the Ottoman era. It seems this whole identity thing only really took off once the higher-ups decreed that everyone had to identify that way.

I don't really care what you decide to call us. Personally, being called a "Canadian Catholic" doesn't bother me one bit, since I am Catholic and I happen to come from the region known as Canada...🙄🙄

Look, we don't exactly have a million active users here, so it's not like anyone's going to miss it for an hour. You could’ve easily posted a quick notice both times saying, "The site is down until further notice, see ya!" Seriously, how hard is it to just communicate?

I mean, what would actually change in your day-to-day life if you had known ahead of time that the board was down? It's probably not the end of the world if the site goes offline for a couple of days...🙄🙄

You really haven't the slightest clue what my original handle was...🙄🙄

I am quite certain the admins have eyes on everything, and frankly, it seems they are perfectly content with how things unfolded and how they are currently playing out. That’s why I’ve largely given up hope that anything will actually change. When you were appointed as a moderator for the second time, I simply stopped visiting the Diaspora community, much like many others did. I suppose I just have a low tolerance for arrogance and that condescending tone people seem to adopt. In a strange way, though, I suppose I should thank you, because you effectively "cured" me of my addiction to this forum. If there were just a few more people like you and perhaps a few more like me, this whole place might actually turn a corner...😁😁

When I was first appointed as a moderator for the Diaspora section, that actually marked the very beginning of the Diaspora community itself. Honestly, I was the very first mod there... so, if you ask me, the Diaspora started going downhill from that exact moment. What’s your take on all that? 🙏 👍

Also, let me tell you, the Diaspora definitely wasn't some reliable hub for information back when I was running things, and anyone on the forum who has been around longer than you can certainly vouch for that... 😉 (though, whether you like it or not, providing info is one of the core functions of these forums, whether it's the Diaspora section or any other sub-forum)
And, by the way, every single one of those moderators mentioned above faced their fair share of criticism... coming from all sorts of directions... 😉

Users with more seniority than me????? Well, I guess that’s your problem right there—you tend to jump to conclusions far too quickly. For the record, this isn't my original handle; it's my second one. And no, you don't need to go digging around now, because that specific handle hasn't been banned... 😉😉

There are plenty of people on this site who still remember exactly what you were up to when you were first given moderator status, but I really don't feel like wasting my energy looking up all that nonsense right now. As for Secund, Het, or even Skattemus—if everyone had stayed as "normal" as they were back then, this forum probably wouldn't be facing half the issues it does today. 😉

NOBODY was actually doing a good job.
When I was appointed (for the second time) to moderate the diaspora section, I was practically greeted with open arms before I could even manage to perform a single moderation task or take any kind of action...
Everything that ambermason16 wrote above is the absolute truth, I'm afraid...

No, you weren't normal. Honestly, when you were first appointed as a moderator, it felt like the beginning of the end for the Diaspora subforum. When they brought you back the second time, you basically just finished the job. Now, that whole section has devolved into nothing more than an information desk...🙄🙄

Back during the Secund or Het days, nobody ever seemed to have a single complaint, whereas now, absolutely nobody has anything to say about Skattemus - therefore to exist. It seems there actually were "normal" moderators once upon a time.........😉😉

You need to be active in the subreddits you care about, be a model user—you know, someone who actually knows how to write, isn't a jerk to talk to, and basically just has good vibes. Eventually, if you catch the eye of one of the mods, supermods, or the admins, they might pull you aside and ask if you're down to help run things. That’s pretty much the only way it happens. And hey, the pay? Yeah, it's totally massive.

Could someone please explain what this bolded part means? I'm worried my application might fall through because I don't quite grasp what this is referring to...😁😁

I wonder if anyone has considered whether we should implement a policy where any user who decides to steer a discussion toward topics like religion or politics would be slapped with a 500-point penalty. It seems like it might be a reasonable way to handle things, though I suppose that’s just my two cents.

I was merely pointing out that if this were happening within the realm of politics, you’d probably be looking at a 500-point penalty. I had absolutely no intention of commenting on you specifically, nor was I trying to take aim at your little sub-forum...🙄🙄
