Running a fever? in Health ·
Heh, alright... so I’ve got a little one at home. I was checking her temperature yesterday—and mind you, I was totally stressed out because she's just started daycare/getting settled in—and the thermometer read 98.6! Even though I felt perfectly fine myself...
But honestly, I can't even tell anymore...

Where are you ladies hiding? How’s everyone holding up with these fevers?
So, I finally went in to get checked out—blood work, urine sample, the whole nine yards. My blood counts were perfect, my urine was fine, and then my doctor basically looked me in the eye and said that in 99% of cases, a fever is just caused by stress. And then she’s like, "Let's not overthink it," and calls it a day. Like, seriously?
Meanwhile, I’m sitting here feeling absolutely trashed, like I got hit by a freight train, still running this low-grade fever, and all she gives me is... nothing! Just a shrug!
Unbelievable.
Maybe I really am just super stressed out, but honestly, I don't even have the bandwidth to sit around and dwell on it....

Yeah, okay, I did have a bit of a fever once—just one day, right around when I found out I was pregnant, maybe a day or two after conception (I know exactly when THAT happened)... but obviously, that’s not what we're talking about now... and I just can't seem to get around to getting my bloodwork done...

Ugh, tell me about it... I ended up running a 98.6 fever this afternoon too. It settled down by tonight, thank God. I was actually supposed to head in for bloodwork today, but my little guy came down with a fever yesterday and everything just went out the window. Hopefully, I can finally get those tests knocked out sometime later this week...

Honestly, I find this whole thing pretty hilarious... because my body does the exact same thing where my temperature just tanks once evening rolls around!
It’s kind of the same deal for me—I headed in this past Monday for all those standard tests, you know, bloodwork, urine samples, the whole nine yards... and the doctor basically told me that if my levels look fine, specifically my blood sugar and a few other markers, then these little temperature dips are usually just attributed to stress... hm...

Taylor Chase4 said:Basically, that ovulation temperature can hang around through the first few days of your period until your progesterone or estrogen levels 😕 finally tank.

Man, I was literally just about to ask that! Isn't ovulation supposed to happen right around the middle of the cycle?
My period is due any day now, so there is zero chance I'm ovulating right now, even though... well, you know...
Anyway, I'm heading to my doctor tomorrow because I completely lost my voice today and I feel like absolute garbage. This whole situation is driving me insane and, honestly, starting to get a little scary...

Mark Brooks87 said:If it makes you feel any better, mine is still hanging around too 😢 all through day 37... so, how's your ovulation situation looking? Are you in the second half of your cycle?

Yeah, I am, definitely in the second half of my cycle... but I'm on the pill. Honestly, though, I actually missed three doses this month... don't even ask... hopefully nothing crazy happens, right? Plus, I've never really "felt" ovulation happening. I actually used to think I didn't even ovulate at all, until—surprise!—I ended up getting pregnant.
But now, my doctor is basically warning me that I should probably get my thyroid levels checked... ugh...
Do you ever get that feeling where you just feel totally exhausted, sluggish, and just... blah?

Here we go again... I’m sitting here at 99 degrees, and honestly? I am about two seconds away from losing my absolute mind!
I feel like I’m walking through a fog constantly—just zero energy, nothing but heavy eyelids, and my brain feels like it's stuffed with cotton wool.
And yeah, obviously, being the genius that I am, I didn't bother going to the doctor for blood work when this first started happening.🙄

I just clocked in at 101.3... literally just checked. I haven't even bothered calling my doctor yet... it just kind of happened on its own. If it happens again, I guess I'll just pop some Advil and deal with it...

Look, I haven't really run into any issues before, but I went in for blood work about three weeks ago and the results were kind of weird. My neutrophils were low, while my lymphocytes and basophils were both up... What am I looking at here?

So, I’ve been running this low-grade fever—around 99°F—for a few days now. Over the last couple of weeks, there were a few random days where my temperature would spike just like this. Right now, I’m all stuffed up, and honestly, I can tell my immune system is basically in a coma. I’ve been loading up on every single vitamin under the sun trying to fight this off! What am I even supposed to do? There is zero chance of me actually lying down or getting any rest because I have a 10-month-old baby who is basically a tiny whirlwind running at full speed 24/7, and I don’t have any backup—no grandparents or babysitters to step in. What's the deal with this stupid fever? Why isn't it budging even though I've been slamming Vitamin C, Andol C, and even bought some aloe vera to help?
Dealing with de Quervain's disease in Health ·
Yeah, yeah, I know—it hurts like hell when I try that stretch, believe me, I’ve been there... But look, I’m calling you out here... What am I actually supposed to do next? Just keep grinding through physical therapy and laser treatments? Ditch the light therapy lamp entirely? Or should I just go hunt down a second opinion from someone else?
Wait, you’re telling me you’ve been dealing with this for a full year?! Jesus Christ, how do you even function?
And yep, the pain is even more brutal first thing in the morning!
Seriously though, how did you manage to get through this, and what actually worked for you?
Dealing with de Quervain's disease in Health ·
Has anyone here dealt with de Quervain's, or maybe even snagged an official diagnosis? I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m actually dealing with because the pain in my wrist has become absolutely brutal. My physical therapist keeps telling me it’s just arthritis, so now I’m out here paying for all these sessions, ultrasounds, and laser treatments that—honestly?—haven't done a damn thing to help. I’m at a total loss. Should I go hunt down a second opinion or what? It feels pretty stupid to keep wasting money on therapy if they’ve got the wrong idea about what’s going on. To make matters worse, my wrist is under constant stress since I’ve got a little one at home and I'm currently on maternity leave. Right now, I’m just DIY-ing it by slathering on some Voltaren and using a compression wrap to try and keep things steady. I also borrowed a Zepter light lamp—wondering if that might actually do anything? Anyway, my radiology report says "minimal narrowing of the radiocarpal joint space..." which, in my humble layman's opinion, doesn't sound like arthritis at all. They can just say whatever they want, I guess... Anybody?
Depeche Mode ticket exchange in Music ·
Man, I am dying for those tickets! Seriously, if anyone’s looking to offload a pass, hit my DMs right now! And honestly? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that someone might be selling them right outside Madison Square Garden tomorrow. But seriously—I need those damn tickets!

Private clinics for gastroscopy? in Health ·
So, I went to this private clinic over by Times Square—honestly, I can't recall the exact name of the place anymore. But what I do remember is that the whole thing was surprisingly smooth, both during and after the procedure. The doctor was actually great; he spent a few minutes just chatting me up first, probably trying to settle my nerves or something. Then, with the nurse's help, he gets moving with the procedure while you get to watch your stomach on a color monitor... mmm, pretty cool! Seriously though, everything went off without a hitch! It’s just that the final bill wasn't exactly "sweet" if you know what I mean...
Tips for quitting smoking! in Health ·
So, I’ve officially been smoke-free for five days now, and honestly? It wasn't even a big dramatic decision. It just kind of happened. I was traveling home for New Year's Eve, spent two whole days stuck on a bus, caught a bit of a cold, and I just didn't feel like lighting up. Now, the cravings are starting to creep in a little, but I'm trying my best to just ignore them—I'm basically living on pretzels right now and it's actually working!
I mean, I never really took quitting seriously before... but now...
