Bad posture: How to fix it?
in Health ·
Happy Easter, everyone. 😁
I’m dealing with kyphosis and pretty terrible posture—lots of slouching, rounded shoulders, and my head is always jutting forward.
As soon as I actually try to sit up straight, everything looks better, so I'm pretty sure I could fix this fairly easily with the right kind of therapy.
What I'm looking for is advice on CONCRETE steps I can take to help.
Right now, I'm using one of those posture braces, but I don't want to rely on that as my only solution.
I'm wondering how much massage therapy might actually move the needle. I read up on Rolfing (that specific connective tissue technique), but there's only one practitioner offering it in the whole country, and they aren't anywhere near my neck of the woods.
If I go see a doctor, should I be looking into physical therapy?
A full body cast is definitely off the table. I realize that would probably be the most effective way to force my spine into place, but I'm just not interested in being stuck in concrete for months on end.
If you've dealt with anything similar, let me know. 😉
Best,
