Alkaline phosphatase levels

To clarify, I wasn't actually aiming at acid phosphatase; my focus was on bone cancer. 🙂
The thread regarding the "shifting age limit for cancer from 50 down to 30" refers to an article from the New York Post. I'm with you—the article itself is pretty mindless because, realistically, there’s no such thing as an age cutoff for cancer.
However, the piece mentioned this one woman (I think she was 29) battling bone cancer. Her story is honestly pretty haunting. She kept going to her primary care physician, running all sorts of tests, and it never once crossed anyone's mind that the diagnosis could be something that devastating.
By the time they finally realized what they were dealing with, it had already metastasized to her lungs.
That leads back to my question—why wouldn't a situation like that show up as an increase in acid phosphatase levels? (She wasn't on chemo, and she didn't have liver issues...)
