Chest X-ray results in Health ·
I’d probably suggest Mayo Clinic for any kind of diagnostic testing—you wouldn't believe how good they are. But I agree with the others; just heading in for a "chest X-ray" without seeing a doctor first (ideally a specialist), especially given all those symptoms the OP mentioned, isn't the smartest move. What is an X-ray actually going to tell you if there isn't a specialist there to interpret the results and connect them to what you're feeling?

See, that wasn't really my point. I wasn't questioning who would read the scan. I'll pay a specialist to look at it if I have to.

@Megan Reed: Just some eccentric doctor where people pass out in the waiting room while she just shuts the door and tells them to wait their turn.

@jadesailor14 & Joseph Long3: I wasn't there long, and she barely even squeezed me in. Most of the other doctors I wanted to see aren't taking new patients right now.

To be fair, an X-ray of the lungs—or any test involving ionizing radiation—isn't exactly "casual." It has its own set of limitations and risks.
So, I guess there needs to be a medical reason for it.

It’s not quite like booking an appointment at a salon or a barber shop... 😈

I've been having various lung issues lately. So, my options are either pay out of pocket to see a specialist tomorrow just to get some answers, or wait three weeks for an appointment with my primary care doctor, who will probably misdiagnose me anyway (it won't be her first time) and won't even bother ordering an imaging test.

@Megan Reed: Yeah, that’s exactly what I meant. Thanks a ton for the links.

@Megan White4: I’d gladly just go to my own doctor, but knowing how things work there, I’m worried I’d be stuck waiting two or three weeks just to get a referral from her.

Thanks, everyone.

Is there anywhere in the US where I can get a private lung scan done?
Thanks
Flat feet help? in Health ·
How does one actually start "treating" plantar fasciitis? Who should I see first if I want to skip the general practitioner? Also, which companies sell those foot orthotics—you know, the ones that use questionable methods just to squeeze money out of people? What’s the average price range for inserts these days? I'm curious about the different types and which ones actually work. Lastly, are there any specific exercises for flat feet?

Thanks in advance
