And don't get me started on how Scandinavian journalists visiting the US get treated to free endless buffets of lobster, gourmet pasta, pastries, and fancy cheeses... meanwhile, our guys over in Sweden have to pay for bottled water!"

Dennis Doyle3 said:EDIT: Also, honestly? Soccer is probably the only sport where a World Cup or Euro medal actually carries more weight than an Olympic one. I mean, think about it... the top-tier national soccer teams don't even show up to the Olympics with their full-strength rosters. It's just different...
Paul Jones7 said:I’ve never really wrapped my head around this whole 'Canadian' label thing. I mean, sure, they're Muslims, but if we're being totally honest here, anyone coming from Canada is just... well, Canadian. It's all one big group...
Paul Jones7 said:well said and spot on
Paul Jones7 said:They really should have... I mean, instead of Fak constantly causing drama, that's how you handle things. A total counter-move
Paul Jones7 said:I mean, would you actually be happy if an American coach was training some Canadian athlete who keeps bringing home medals for Canada?
They aren't idiots, obviously they're getting paid. I don't see why they'd help him out for nothing in the first place without some kind of payoff involved...
Jerry Roberts said:Some of you people seriously need to get your heads checked... your perception is just completely warped. Seriously.
I mean, honestly, nobody’s gonna hold it against Jukicki... seriously. It’s not like the girl ever actually put on an American jersey just to rip it off and claim that taking it off was the greatest moment of her life—like, way better than the day she snagged an Olympic medal or whatever... so yeah... no one's mad...
And honestly, all those other guys who decided to go represent some other country? Look, it was their call, their choice... we can be bummed out about it, sure, but what are we gonna do? Just move on already... let's just get back to business...
That absolute piece of work, Fak, has been lying to the entire nation this whole time. It’s like he’s constantly second-guessing himself, overthinking everything, then retreating into some quiet temple in Kyoto just to "contemplate his future." Give me a break. He acts like it’s such a heavy burden, like he’d die for America, but oh, wait—he’s the coach, he’s got friends, it’s a "difficult decision," blah blah blah... total nonsense. And then, when things actually get real—when the American federation makes a totally reasonable demand for compensation from the Americans—how does he react? Does he step up and say, "Look, I’ll stand with my home country, just get it sorted," or does he actually acknowledge that people have a right to protect their interests? No. Instead, he turns into a complete coward, hanging by his fingernails and whining about how they won't let him coach for the Americans anymore... what a joke.
There he goes, running back to Canada... finally got his exit papers and now he’s all smiles, acting like the rest of America is actually going to miss a complete coward like him. Honestly? The guy makes me sick... such a pathetic excuse for a man...

And even if he isn't "average." That’s actually one of the reasons—among a bunch of others—why he’s damn good at what he does.
But nope, apparently in this country, planning for the future just isn't allowed.
The second anyone dares to look out for themselves, they’re instantly branded a traitor, some greedy pig, a sellout, or worse...
Paul Jones7 said:Look, you didn't stick around because you’re some big patriot obsessed with the flag or the "sacred soil" or whatever... nah. You stayed because this place is full of your buddies, your local crew, those small-town characters, and that whole loud, rural crowd you love so much. You stayed because you *wanted* to stay. Period. And someone else? They left because they wanted out. So tell me... how exactly does that make them worse than you? Just... I don't even know... makes no sense...
Unless that whole "kissing American soil" thing literally means kissing the pavement when you take a massive, patriotic faceplant right off your bike... 🤣
Jose White18 said:But for your average American? This is basically the dream.
Just land some cushy gig in the US Army, sit in the shade, and wait for retirement without ever having to lift a finger...
The issue is, Jacob Fak isn't exactly your run-of-the-mill American.
