Celebrity game show wins in Movies ·
Is it just me, or does it feel like certain friend groups just absolutely dominate these high-stakes trivia shows? It’s almost getting a little predictable when the same circles keep walking away with the jackpot. Anyone else tired of seeing the same faces winning everything?

Noah Barrett10 said:Are we talking about soft contacts here? Like those descaling tablets you use roughly every two weeks? If the answer to both my questions is "yes," 🙂 then I can tell you with absolute certainty that you use one tablet per lens. 😁

Yeah, it’s for soft lenses (sorry, totally forgot to mention that crucial detail)... Not really sure, it says enzymes to get rid of protein buildup 😕.. I've had these lenses for a year (though I haven't worn them much), and just now realized I have these enzyme cleaners sitting here, so figured I'd give it a shot...

Btw, thanks for the comment 🙂

Quick question—when it comes to those lens enzymes, do you drop one tablet into a single case with just one lens in there? =) Or is it one tablet for both lenses? (I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I don't want to mess them up, so I figured I'd ask... the instructions aren't exactly detailed about it)

Alright, thanks a ton everyone...
I'm getting them on Tuesday, so we'll see 🙂...
If I run into any more trouble, I'll give 🙂 a shout...

Since you aren't used to having something in your eye, they tend to pop out more often... But you'll get fully acclimated in maybe ten days tops. It’s really nothing to sweat. For me, they actually ended up slightly improving my vision too.

Ugh, I had no idea they fall out that much... 🙄
Did you stick to that rule where you wear them for 3 hours on day one, then 3.5 hours on day two, and work your way up to 8 hours? Because that’s gonna be a little awkward for me since I have school...
Oh, one more thing (once you're fully adjusted and wearing them all day)... Say I want to hop in the shower or wash my hair in the middle of the day and take them out... Do I need to do that whole deep cleaning routine again, like I do before bed? Or can I just pop them right back in from the case? (lol, sorry, just overthinking this stuff until I finally get them and get the hang of it 🙂 )

Alright, sounds good then.
So, I saw my doctor yesterday and she recommended soft contacts... I gave them a shot—well, she basically shoved them in my eyes for me—and man, I was tearing up for the first five minutes. After that, I started getting used to them... even though I was blinking like crazy every second... But after about 30 minutes, I adjusted and they actually feel great 🙂
The catch is, I won't get them until Tuesday 😢... and then there's probably another two weeks of getting used to them...
Honestly, they seem totally fine to me right now... even if the whole process of putting them in and taking them out is such a pain

You really need to watch out for your corneas, ladies—mine actually got damaged, which is the whole reason I even have to wear lenses now, and that’s a heavy situation to deal with. It’s honestly not that much trouble to toss some solution and a case in your bag so you're prepared wherever you go. If it happens by accident, don't sweat it, but please, don't make it a habit. Protect those corneas!

Do soft contact lenses actually protect the cornea somehow?
Because I heard from this one woman that her contacts were the exact thing that messed up her cornea...
Then again, I don't know much about this stuff, so my bad if I'm wrong 🙂

Kevin Cook11 said:Some lens brands keep stock on hand, but since the base curve matters so much, they’ll adjust the lens size based on how your eyeball is shaped—specifically with those hard contacts. I don't have a super curved eye, so I actually need the largest size available; otherwise, they’d just slip right out and wouldn't cover my entire cornea. That was actually the issue with my very first pair, so they had to swap them out for me.
Plus, everything depends on your prescription. If you're dealing with higher diopters or heavy astigmatism—or even weird combinations like I have, where my prescription is low but my astigmatism is high—you might have to wait a bit longer for them to arrive.
As for the cost, a single hard contact usually runs anywhere from $250 to $133, depending on the strength you need, which manufacturer makes them, and whatever margin the distributor decides to tack on. Medicare covers a certain percentage based on your specific prescription, so your out-of-pocket cost really just comes down to that difference.
Regarding sleeping in them... look, I occasionally close my eyes for maybe 15 minutes, but my eyes end up watering and stinging like crazy afterward, so I don't make a habit of it. Honestly, I'd rather just take them out. If I don't have my case handy, I'll just wrap them up in a clean tissue, and when I'm ready to put them back in, I give them a really thorough rinse with water... though, again, I don't really do that often.
It’s true that some people have a harder time adjusting than others. Personally, my eyes didn't water at all, even when I walked into the clinic or when the technician popped the first pair in. I was looking around totally fine! The only real struggle was just getting used to the physical motion of putting them in at first. But listen, if you're dealing with bloodshot eyes or intense stinging, that's not okay. Go back to the eye doctor where you got them and ask them to check if the edges need to be polished. If that doesn't fix it, go see an ophthalmologist immediately.

Thanks for the info 🙂... I don't even have astigmatism, but my prescription is 2.25 in one eye and 3.00 in the other... Not sure what they're gonna suggest for me. I'll find out tomorrow 😁

Jerry Lee14 said:It depends. If I remember right, the soft ones come through almost immediately (correct me if I'm wrong), but I usually get my semi-firm results the day after an exam—or even later that same afternoon if I have my appointment in the morning.

Alright, thanks 🙂... I'm heading in tomorrow afternoon, so whatever happens, happens... Still haven't decided which ones to grab (soft or semi-hard), it all just depends on what my doctor says 😁

Got a quick question... I've got an appointment with a private eye doctor in a couple of days for my first contact lens exam. My glasses are starting to drive me crazy; I've been wearing them forever and they're just getting impractical.
I was wondering if I could actually walk out with lenses on that same day (so I can start getting used to them), or if there's some kind of waiting period while they get everything manufactured?
