So far, we've had five ladies chime in... I say we hang tight for a little longer before we all touch base and head out for a coffee 🙂
Does anyone have any actual info on this? Please, I’m begging!
Hey there. So, back in the day, I spent about ten years training in handball, but life eventually caught up with me through a few injuries, which effectively ended my competitive days. Since then, I’ve occasionally reunited with some old teammates who also hung up their jerseys; we’d rent out a local gym and play a few matches every now and then—it was honestly pretty terrible and amateurish, but we had an absolute blast doing it. Most of my life has been spent here in NYC now, and it’s been roughly eight years since I’ve even held a ball, though the itch to play hasn't gone away. I constantly find myself dreaming about being back on the court, and I’ve even tried searching for a recreational group that meets once or twice a month, but I haven't had any luck so far. Basically, I'm looking for women who used to play and might want to get together occasionally just to catch a pass and relive those old glory days for the sake of nostalgia.🙂If anyone knows of a group like this or if you're interested in starting something new from scratch, please reach out. Thanks!

The woman is just too good, way too sympathetic... she practically floods you with positive energy 🙂 Who would have thought that my trips to the gynecologist would actually become something I look forward to 🤣 😍 😁
How much does a full exam cost?
I honestly can't stand the breaks... they're just miserable. But since there's at least one theater where you can smoke, I find myself gravitating toward the AMC whenever I want to catch a movie.

🤣
aspirin said:it isn't really about the weed itself... there's just a certain subset of people with underlying mental health issues who really shouldn't be smoking... for some, it just happens, where things start feeling off and symptoms begin to surface, much like what Brian Ramos8 mentioned...
those issues are usually sitting there long before someone ever lights up; the weed just drags them out into the light in a way that's a bit more obvious...
once you notice that pattern, you pretty much have to walk away for good...
That’s just how it is, unfortunately...
I’m honestly counting down the days, though this will be my first time making the trip by car, which means I'll probably spend half the daylight hours swimming just to escape the heat. Honestly, trying to navigate through the local spots during the summer is a total nightmare. My only real anxiety is the ticketing situation; I absolutely loathe standing in those endless lines under the blazing sun just to get a seat.🙂In previous years, I used to force myself to catch three or four movies a day until my brain basically turned to mush and I couldn't remember a single plotline... this time around, I’m planning to cap it at two films max, leaving the rest of my daytime to lounge by the water. That said, the lineup actually looks pretty solid!🙂
I haven't touched weed in four years, and honestly, I don't see myself ever picking it back up. During that stretch of my life, I noticed that whenever I would smoke, my panic attacks just seemed to intensify. I wouldn't exactly suggest it to anyone dealing with even the slightest mental health struggles, though I don't have anything against it otherwise; I still hang out with people who smoke all the time and I don't judge them for it at all. Sometimes it’s a shame that I can't just join in, but the fear of heart palpitations, heart attacks, and all those other physical symptoms that come bundled with a panic attack is just much stronger than any craving. And please, just don't try telling me that smoking might have contributed to my mental state, because it didn't...🙂
I was there this past Thursday and Friday, and honestly, I have to admit that none of them really blew me away. If I had to pick anything from Thursday, I’d probably lean toward Rabbit, Unaccompanied Lady—which was just incredibly creepy yet sweet at the same time—and Herr Wurfel, who I found to be the most charming of the bunch.
On Friday, we’ve got Ivan budalica, which is sweet enough, though I wouldn't call it anything groundbreaking, and then there's Christies-Oh, George, who seems to have the most actual potential; I'm honestly curious to see how the rest of that group pans out. It's a shame I can't make it today...😢
I’m honestly just floored by this movie; I actually went back for a second viewing because I was half-convinced I’d spend the whole time nitpicking flaws, but instead, I just fell even harder for it. All this chatter about political subtext and being "correct" is just total nonsense to me. As a standalone piece of cinema, it’s fantastic, and if we have to talk politics, I actually find it refreshing that a film tackling such heavy subject matter managed to win an award—usually, stories about wartime sexual violence are relegated to niche documentaries or short films that never seem to reach a mainstream audience. I loved how intimate the approach felt, though of course, that wouldn't have worked without such incredibly powerful performances. Everything about it feels intentional, from the overwhelming emotional weight and the questions it forces you to face, to the genuine warmth between the characters and those tiny, perfect details scattered throughout. It’s been a long time since a film has moved me like this, especially one coming out of the US lately. Huge props to the entire cast.👍 I realize I’ve used the word "floored" about a dozen times now, but honestly, the movie just blew me away.🙂
I checked out the new one by the girls, "I Have Nothing Nice to Say to You," and honestly, I'm feeling a little let down after all that hype, though it’s nice to see her still focusing on her hometown. I just can't wrap my head around why he felt the need to dig through those old diaries.
Then there was Liljana Sismanovic's "Half-Sister"—it was sweet and clever, actually brought a tear to my eye.
Ivan Faktor's "Zeljko Jerman—My Month" was fantastic; absolutely wild, much like Jerman himself.🙂
I went ahead and booked tickets for El Paso because I'm dying to see it, but apparently, today's show and tomorrow's are already completely sold out!
I spent some time watching *The Devil Wears Prada* earlier. It’s such a fascinating look at the sheer misery lurking behind the glamorous facade of the entertainment industry... there were moments that felt almost absurdly funny, especially when you compare those classic icons to the manufactured pop stars we see on MTV today, but mostly it just leaves you feeling heavy because it’s hard to trust the reality of the world we inhabit. And don't even get me started on that guy from the local cable news network and his ridiculous takes on educated women and feminists; the man is genuinely chilling. It’s unsettling to realize that people with that mindset are the ones calling the shots in Hollywood. 🤮
Hey there. I don't really have any profound advice to offer, I just wanted to tell you not to let those vultures on this forum get under your skin; they're just sitting around waiting for a chance to crucify someone and tear them down... there are some truly twisted people in this place. Just hang in there and try to ignore them, because giving them any attention will only end up pissing you off. Good luck!
