A little comparison between skiing and soccer
When you look at how many people actually get into skiing, you realize there are maybe 200 elite pros out there globally because, let’s face it, it’s an incredibly expensive sport, and it isn't exactly something that comes to mind for a kid growing up in a remote part of sub-Saharan Africa, nor is it realistically accessible to them. On the other hand, you have about ten million soccer players scattered across the globe, which makes being a world-class soccer player a million times more valuable than being a top-tier skier.
