How to deal with facial hyperpigmentation?

I’ve been dealing with these nasty pigmentation patches under my eyes—large, dark, and just impossible to get rid of. I tried every whitening cream on the market, but nothing worked; even during the winter, the spots wouldn't budge. So, last week, I finally went in for a laser treatment.
Fair warning: the procedure itself is brutal. My plastic surgeon mentioned that the deeper the pigmentation, the more it hurts. It only takes about 10-15 minutes, but afterward, you look absolutely terrifying. We’re talking scabs, redness, and that sensation like someone is literally holding a hot iron against your face. About two hours after the session, the burning stops and the redness dies down significantly. However, over the next few days, the treated areas turn very dark—honestly, you look like you walked out of a fight. After 3 or 4 days, the skin starts peeling, and by the end of a week, it’s like they were never there. It cost me $267.
To help with the scabbing, I used some soothing oil—sort of an old-school remedy. I don't think it's mass-produced, but it works wonders for burns, which makes sense because this laser treatment is essentially frying those spots away.
Of course, the pigment can come back, so now I’m strictly using SPF 50+ cream. Throw on a hat when the sun is intense, and you should be good to go.
It’s definitely not an easy process, but it actually works.
Can you tell me where you went for the laser?
Cheers and thanks
