Waking up with sleep paralysis: anyone else?
in Health ·
Greetings. 👋
Well, here is my experience... last night, I dreamt of at least five different locations and quite some harrowing events—though, truth be told, I only remember a tiny fraction of it all.
At one point—I am not entirely sure if I was in a state of semi-sleep or something else, as the memory is fuzzy—it felt as though I had woken up and tried to get out of bed to go for a walk, but I simply could not move. I attempted to shift my weight, but there was nothing... absolutely nothing. For a brief moment, I felt something happening within my body, though I cannot quite define it—whether it was pain or perhaps something else entirely. A wave of pure panic hit me, and I began screaming at the top of my lungs while desperately trying to move. (I am not certain if anyone actually heard me, given that my brother’s room is quite far from mine—so he wouldn't have heard everything—and I usually sleep with music playing).
It felt as if those intense moments lasted only a few seconds, and after that, everything becomes a blur. Even when I woke up properly in the morning, things felt slightly off; I had a mild headache and struggled with my vision right in front of me. For instance, I was searching for my things—my lighter, my perfume, stuff like that—but I couldn't find them anywhere. It wasn't until I returned home later that I realized everything had been sitting right there on the table in plain sight. Ugh... it was a truly harrowing experience.
