I just picked up some black rib leggings in size 42-32 from $27 for the first time. Honestly, I’ve never felt more comfortable in my life, and they definitely weren't cheap.

It’s really just a precaution because certain members of my family wouldn't exactly be thrilled about my choices, so I figured I might as well have everything laid out clearly in writing 😛
. I’m fully planning on living a long, healthy life, obviously, but just in case things take an unexpected turn, that card is tucked away in my wallet for good measure.

It's the same story over here, except I'm also a blood donor—twenty-three times now. I've had my donor card since October 2005, and I'm still standing. No one has come after me for some wealthy guy in a suit yet.

I headed down to the mall to pick up some new swimwear...
At Victoria's Secret, they were charging up to $200
. Then you look at Triumph, which starts at $167
. Calzedonia is sitting anywhere between 340 and 450 dollars.
It’s infuriating because stores like Takko, Charlotte Avenue, or H&M had all the larger sizes on sale last night—actually affordable prices...

For reference, I’m an 85C-D on top, and I wear a size 10-12 on the bottom.

I wear the same size, though an 85B top usually fits me fine even if I buy 85C bras. I also found a great selection of swimwear at Nordstrom.

Go see Dr. Pezelj at the Križina hospital! 👍
He’s pleasant, kind, and highly professional.

The ENT department at the local university hospital has excellent doctors. For kids, I’d suggest Dr. Roje or Dr. Tafra,👍!

Giving birth in the middle of the ocean in Health ·
Just so you know, I know this woman quite well—I actually went to school with her husband. She ended up having a C-section because she’s incredibly petite, and her last pregnancy ended the same way about 15 months ago. She fully expected another surgery this time around. Her due date wasn't until late February, so she wasn't in any rush to get to San Francisco, but the little guy decided he was ready early. On the other hand, giving birth on Maui isn't even an option since they shut down our local maternity ward eight years ago. Honestly, a delivery like this wouldn't be possible on Maui anyway because we don't have the operating rooms for a C-section. So, there you go—just another example of the "perks" of island life.
Exostoses in Health ·
It feels like this recovery is dragging on longer than expected. Maybe it's the heat wave or something else, but honestly, it feels tougher than the first time around. My ear is still clogged and there's some slight bleeding, but that's about it.

Yesterday I got the left ear done, and I'm already back home. The hospital was a total madhouse because of the heatwave, so Prof. Glunčić sent me home to recover. Everything went smoothly again—ears trimmed, no dizziness, no nausea.

I’m doing great. I had my surgery with Dr. Glunčić over at Mayo Clinic, and now I have to go back for the other side—ugh. I managed to snag an August 18th appointment since Glunčić is retiring in early October. Honestly, my right side is perfect now; no buzzing or clicking whatsoever. I had everything done under general anesthesia, and they even made an incision by my ear.

Just so everyone is aware, I had surgery on my right mastoid on April 1st. It was done under general anesthesia, so I didn't feel or hear a thing. There was zero pain afterward and no dizziness issues either. I’m getting the stitches removed tomorrow, and I plan to schedule the left ear immediately since my surgeon is retiring this October.

So, are we still on for the 28th?

It’s my turn to go under the knife for exostosis. It’s in both ears, and honestly, it looks like a genetic thing. My mother had surgery for it, and her mother did too—back then, people didn't take it seriously, and she ended up losing her hearing by 40. My mom and I dealt with the exact same symptoms: constant ringing, interference on the TV, and that heavy, clogged feeling in the ear. I had an exam back in September, and the doctor tried to schedule me immediately, but I pushed it off until December.
My mother had a brutal time with her procedure. On top of the exostosis, they had to install implants because her ossicles had essentially fused together. She ended up with only about 30% hearing in one ear—basically nothing. The vertigo and vomiting were so intense that during her 14-day hospital stay, she dropped 11 pounds due to the sheer physical toll. 😲😲😲The Center for Equilibrium is extremely close by!
She can hear reasonably well now (about 80% in the operated ear), but she refuses to go through it again for the other side. Not a chance.
I have my follow-up with the ENT on December 1st. I'll likely set a date for the surgery then and will check back in.

casuallynx8 said:Despite falling consumer spending, Walmart saw profits climb

Well, here are some concrete figures regarding our favorite "budget-friendly local staple" ( 🤮 ). A dip in revenue? No big deal—they’ll just stretch out the payment terms for their suppliers a little longer 🙂 , and suddenly those profit margins look much more impressive on paper again... meanwhile, short-term liabilities have climbed from roughly $4.4 billion to $4.8 billion
.
What is there left to say besides 🙂

They’ll invent all sorts of rebates and bonuses for hairspray, sundresses, or Botox... and that's how they play it. It's always at the expense of the struggling American manufacturers and suppliers. 🤮🤮🤮

Joseph Watson3 said:Lidl ice creams have nothing to do with Nestlé; they're just private labels used across all of Europe, mostly produced in Germany. The quality is pretty much on par with Nestlé, but the price is about a third of what you'd pay otherwise.

Honestly, why would anyone pay a premium just for a "brand" when you can just buy the local stuff...

By the way, a good chunk of Nestlé's ice cream is actually produced in Spain.

jelko said:A Lidl opened up in my neighborhood three weeks ago, so I swung by on opening day.
I wanted to pick up a few things:
- mayonnaise: nothing but random brands from Poland I've never even heard of.
- fruit juice: completely unfamiliar brands, including imports you'd see elsewhere, but zero local options like Tropicana.
- deli meat: nothing sliced under $30/lb, and again, all totally unknown brands.
- fruit yogurt: mostly mystery brands, and every single one had a 3-month shelf life due to heavy preservatives—unlike the local stuff that lasts about 3 weeks. The only recognizable brand was Jogobella; everything else was a total stranger.
- cheeses: more unknown brands.
- sweets: we have at least five or six major confectionary factories back home, but not a single one here.

All in all, it feels like Lidl is seriously threatening the retail landscape in America. Local stores usually carry enough imports, but they at least offer one domestic product (like a Walmart brand from Agrokora or a Gavrilović group item). Manufacturers can't get any more pathetic; they struggle to even get shelf space in local shops, yet they aren't even on Lidl's radar?

Take a close look at the store brands over at Walmart and you'll see exactly what's happening. There isn't a single domestic manufacturer for medicine left.
It’s the same story everywhere. Take the Nestlé pea and carrot mix: the carrots come from Belgium and the peas from Mexico. Or Zvezda ketchup: a supposedly local product actually made in Canada. Kraft Heinz canned tomatoes: made in Italy. Kraft Heinz canned beans: made in Italy. It's always the same. Profit doesn't have a nationality, and it certainly doesn't care about sentimental ties to local production.
