Moore probably interviewed fifty people, and the fifty-first one just happened to have some issue he could exploit to start ranting. Moore is the star of all his documentaries, not the actual topics he presents. Moore is a massive, hypocritical pig, and if you think this reflects the whole USA, then go jump into a three-foot puddle and stay there. This documentary is likely just some conspiracy theory cooked up in some small town, but this time it’s playing on big screens.

Efficient Corp schooling isn't free—just look at university rankings in the USA, where tuition can exceed $30,000 a year. An efficient police force isn't free either, and cutting costs there just invites corruption. The same goes for efficient healthcare; it’s expensive because lines of retirees and people with endless pill collections create massive debt when everything is "free." Doctors end up rushing prescriptions just to clear the waiting rooms. You don't see this kind of mess when things actually cost money. Now, explain to me how buying snacks and paying a measly 22% has anything to do with debts totaling several billion dollars that keep climbing. Economic indicators clearly show this healthcare system is broken. Feral Interactive wrote about these systemic issues a few years back; go dig through their archives. It was one of the few decent takes on the subject in our media that I actually found insightful.

You’re essentially expecting doctors—who spend over a decade in school—to be free labor. You expect every single supply needed for a surgery to be handed to you for nothing. Give me a break with that logic. This is exactly why our schools, healthcare, and bureaucracy are struggling. Everyone wants everything for free, then they turn around and blame the government for running a deficit because of them. Try saying that to an auto insurer or life insurance companies; they’ll politely show you the door.

As an individual, I couldn't care less if hospitals are turning a profit. My main concern is not having to shell out massive amounts of cash just to stay alive.

Besides, I don't think health insurance is really comparable to car or home insurance...

And obviously, it isn't right to pay thousands for insurance only to have a claim denied because I had a cold thirteen years ago and now I'm dealing with cancer or a tumor...

Only a crazy person would argue against free services when it comes to their own medical treatment. But that's just not how civilization works, and I doubt we'll see a society like that anytime soon. You might as well start asking for free cars, free iPhones, free laptops, or a free escort every night while you watch reality TV during prime time.

Anyway, it's hard to take someone seriously when they criticize the system while holding shares in McDonald's.

At the end of the day, the healthcare system is a bit more complex than some cheap, one-off documentary made by someone who doesn't really know what they're talking about.

In about a year, there's that third trash film festival in Cleveland, so just keep going. There are plenty of people just like you... =)

Look, chest pain is usually a bad sign. It could be heart-related, or maybe something with your lungs. To me, it sounds like a type of asthma (maybe allergic?), but asthma usually feels more like shortness of breath or struggling to catch your wind rather than sharp pains in your chest. Are you getting tired easily?

I don't get tired. I'm leaning toward an allergy too, though allergies usually stem from some plant or something near the house. I'm actually away from home right now, but the pain is still there. I'll try to head to the doctor tomorrow if I can, assuming I don't run into any damn red tape or bureaucracy. =)

It was valid through September 30th. My mom needs to mail me the new one, but she can't get it out until Monday after I send over the confirmation and we handle the back-and-forth.

It started a few days ago, right after I moved into my new place on Monday. At first, it was just shortness of breath, but as the days went by, I started getting this pain in my chest, specifically on the left side. It’s happened sporadically before. It actually first flared up last year after I got back from summer break, though it seemed to settle down once I moved away for college. Then, when I came back home for the holidays, it popped up again. Usually, using Ventolin or my inhaler (that purple disc thing, I can't remember the exact name) would clear it right up—just two or three puffs and I'd be fine. But this time, it isn't stopping. Honestly, the breathing issue isn't even the main problem anymore; it's the chest pain. This morning, my calves started aching, and I had some pain between my elbows earlier too, though that's gone now. My calves still hurt a bit, but not as much as they did this morning. I'm really hoping someone knowledgeable can tell me what I'm dealing with. I'd be incredibly grateful. Or if you could at least point me toward where I can find more info.
