Can a moderator please step in and deal with redmarlin3? They’ve managed to post three times in a row without actually saying anything relevant to the topic. And they're just getting started. Thanks.

Is this supposed to be funny? If you don't actually have anything to contribute to the topic, then just move on.

Reddit has this sub-forum Politics at the Edge, which basically acts as a playground for bigots to vent their nationalistic and religious prejudices.

When a platform hosts a space like that, it has a moral obligation to its users to provide marginalized groups with their own dedicated spaces. That’s not an opinion; it’s just common sense. 😉

Besides, if you’ve kept up with Nina or Lisa Hernandez3, you'll see this would be much more than just a "trans corner" (just like the Women's Corner is often way more than just about women).

Look, we aren't talking about creating a ghetto here. We're talking about opening a sub-forum designed from the ground up with a different perspective and stricter standards—specifically regarding hate speech. I believe the moderation should be incredibly strict on harassment, even if it stays relaxed otherwise.

It feels pretty silly that I even have to explain this. Just open the sub-forum, appoint the right moderators, and watch the community grow. It’s that simple.

Lisa Hernandez3, I’m just starting the conversation here. Honestly, I’m surprised no one else—especially someone from the LGBTQ+ community on Reddit—has brought this up yet.

When I started this thread, I didn't sit down and map out exactly how a subforum like this should function.

Besides, I don't really feel like it's my place to judge or force my own vision on everyone.

I actually like the direction you and Matthew Grant9 are taking with it, so I'm following your lead. We'll just have to see what this place eventually turns into.

hollowtrucker77 said:briskpuma23, you got any specific topics swirling around in that head of yours, maybe some alternative perspectives on how this... thing could play out?

I thought I made it clear that I don't belong in that circle, even if we take a broader view—basically, if you open up a corner like that, things like this will inevitably pop up. Or they won't. But I'm betting they will.

And yeah—it's hilarious how Matthew Grant9 interprets this potential PDF as some kind of transcendent sanctuary for everyone who doesn't fit in. Expanding the battlefield rocks. Someone get Matthew Grant9 a moderator badge.

First, let's get this corner open. Honestly, I can't think of anything else I'd want to moderate. And please, skip the explicit compliments—to me, that’s worse than being cursed at.
While everyone seems to be rushing to appoint moderators, wouldn't it make more sense to have someone actually invested in the community, like Matthew Grant9?

That's my two cents. I'll check back in once someone manages to truly get under my skin.

Are you implying this poster is talking about me, or are you claiming I was focusing on you?

As for anything else—you can never predict which way a subforum will go. Reddit isn't the same thing it was five years ago.

Here's the reality, which just occurred to me: a transgender corner will inevitably be created sooner or later. If that's the case, it's better to get it over with now.

I don't personally know anyone from that community, but it's perfectly clear to me that they are one of the most marginalized groups in America. Reddit has a moral obligation to provide those people with their own space, and that's where my argument ends. Besides, as Matthew Grant9 pointed out, a transgender corner has the potential to expand, raising societal questions that often go unasked and providing perspectives that offer a different look at our culture—making it much more than just a refuge for a marginalized group.

Whether the TK will be more serious than the ŽK (everything is more serious than MK) isn't something we can know ahead of time. If someone turns it into a freak show, then it really shouldn't be started. But ultimately, that depends on the moderators and the users.

Castro could moderate it. Along with someone a bit gentler. When I say gentler, I don't mean cowardly moderation, but rather someone who acts more like a moderator/educator, using a polite approach to explain to users why certain things shouldn't be posted. But those are technicalities I don't want to deal with.

P.S. It's honestly incredible to me that both Herp and Lisa Hernandez3 took my metaphorical provocations on their subforums so seriously. Give yourselves a break—humor, even when it falls flat, is still just humor.
Stalking, harassment, and accusations of account cloning in Feedback & Suggestions ·
hollowtrucker77 said:Look, two posts in a row doesn't exactly qualify as stalking, and I’m certainly not seeing any blatant insults here, so let’s be real—if someone actually has a problem, they should just report the post to the moderators or send a private message instead of making a scene.
I have a feeling you'll find some way to survive the accusation of being a clone, too.
🙂

So—mocking someone's sexuality in some low-class, gutter-tier way isn't a "blatant insult" to you? Your stupidity has reached a whole new level; it's practically transcendent.

If this forum were actually a decent place, you would have been fired on the spot after an outburst like that.

But since you think making comments about someone's homosexuality and ejaculation isn't a gross insult, let me be clear—saying I'm ejaculating on your face would be putting it too mildly.

Capisci? I highly doubt it.

Let’s not compare transgender people to rabbit droppings. Besides, the biggest consumers of rabbit poop are actually rabbits, and even those useful little animals haven't learned how to write yet—though sometimes it feels like certain other creatures on this forum are starting to.

The whole "strength in numbers" argument doesn't hold water either. On this entire site, among thousands of visitors and lurkers, you won't find even ten people offering any actual, sensible advice on alternative medicine. Quantity doesn't just fail to guarantee quality; it’s inherently low-quality , as old Joseph Stalin might have put it.

I didn't bother with a poll because it's become obvious—even to the idiots—that this country doesn't run on what the majority actually wants. Instead, it's governed by how a privileged minority chooses to interpret things.
I'm looking for a minority ruling here, regardless of the general consensus.

It’s been common knowledge for a long time that this forum is mostly dominated by a narrow, small-minded mindset, and I have no interest in debating that.

What actually shook my delicate soul today was something else—something different, yet equally telling. This forum doesn't offer a space for people who don't fit into the binary of male or female.

Germany, a country that has always led the way—sometimes through genocide, sometimes through tolerance, depending on which way the wind blows—recognizes five genders.

I'm not suggesting we should immediately adopt everything from the decaying West, even if it comes from the only nation we love besides our own homeland, but let's be honest with ourselves: there are all kinds of people out there. Not everyone identifies according to medieval standards.

If there’s a Women's Corner—which, let's be objective, hasn't offered an original thought since the idea that women can think—and a Men's Corner, which is only conditional at best and serves as a sanctuary for unlived adolescents, then I see no reason why we shouldn't provide a subforum for those who don't feel like men or women, yet still crave a sense of belonging. To put it in forum terminology - let's call it a subforum for gender-neutral cosmopolitans, anationalists, stateless people, and xenophiles.

I don't need to prove that a transgender subforum couldn't be even more ridiculous than, say, the Alternative section, or that its residents will certainly have more coherent thoughts than the crowd in Spirituality, be more mentally stable than the group in Psychology, or show a higher level of tolerance than the folks in Politics—that much is already obvious. The important thing is that such a subforum could serve as a refuge for anyone who feels stifled by the existing two gender-defined sections.

And I don't doubt for a second that once this subforum comes to life—and it will, whether now or in three years—it will eventually sink into petty conformism. People there will likely be mocked for defending the only logical thesis: that every human is a gender unto themselves, and therefore there are as many genders as there are human beings. But it doesn't matter! Transgender people have a right to be petty too! Let's give them that.

Thanks for listening.

The link is barely there—half a centimeter wide and empty. You can live with it.😬

It’s like she's acting all high and mighty, pretending she could actually block it if she wanted to. 😁

Just install Adblock, pick the first filter list—the English one—and it blocks it instantly.

I don't have a problem with ads, but this is just terrible.

I'd suggest you change the site name from forum.com to ruralvillage.com.

Thanks.

It looks like you still have your grandparents around, so you can afford to be this reckless. You’ll regret it eventually, but by then, it’ll be too late...
