Where can I pick up a gas mask? in Miscellaneous ·
David Campbell said:Besides checking online marketplaces, where can I pick up some modern gas masks in New York City? Also, what's a rough ballpark for the price?

You won't find them in NYC.
Here's a link for pricing.
What's the plan?

Everyone just needs a little bit of care and affection, just like anyone else.
There’s probably a reason why you're dealing with such an insensitive environment right now.
It’s never pretty when people take their frustrations out on others, but nobody is born a villain. Most people acting unfairly toward you are actually dealing with their own issues—maybe they had a rough upbringing or they're just insecure. They try to highlight your flaws to mask their own or to get a quick hit of attention to feed their ego. It's honestly pretty pathetic, and their lack of self-awareness is what makes it so tough on you.
The whole situation is just messy and sad. In relationships like this, there isn't much to do besides looking at them with pity, almost like looking at someone with a disability. You don't get angry at someone with a physical disability because they can't help how they are.
Next time someone snaps at you or says something mean, try to wonder why they did it. You'll quickly see it's just coming from a place of weakness. They aren't really attacking you; they're just projecting their own internal chaos onto people they think won't fight back. Once you realize this, you can handle them calmly, like you would an emotional invalid. Just ask them why they feel the need to act that way and state your perspective clearly. You might get a harsher reaction, but just respond with a simple, "I truly feel for you," and walk away or go back to what you were doing.

Check out this video. It's short, but it's a total mood booster from a wonderful person (hope you speak English).

Also, lose that signature.
Like they say, a crooked shoe finds a crooked foot.
But eventually, you'll realize there's no such thing as a crooked shoe—just different shapes.
Switching primary care doctors in Health ·
"Once you pick a primary care doctor, you're basically set for a year. You can only switch before then if you have a really good reason, like moving or a major breakdown in your relationship with them.

If you claim you just can't get along with your doctor anymore, a special review board will look over your request. That board is put together by the director of your local Medicare regional office.

Otherwise, you can just make a regular change once a full year has passed since you last picked a provider. Within that first year, you're only allowed to switch under specific circumstances:

* you moved to a new house
* you're planning to be away from home for more than three months
* your doctor retired, moved their practice, or stopped taking patients covered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
* your doctor's patient list is overflowing past the legal limit
* there’s a total breakdown in trust or communication with your doctor that makes treatment impossible.

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·

A good dentist? Stick to Queens.

The best OB-GYN in Chicago is definitely Silva Babić!

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful woman.
She really takes the time to focus on you and explains everything in detail—which is great because I always have a million questions. 😁
She’s incredibly skilled, totally dedicated, and just a pleasure to work with. She fixed issues I’d been dealing with for years due to previous doctors being careless or inexperienced.

I know this from firsthand experience, though I've heard Puvačić-Solomun (over at DZ Kruge, she takes Medicare) is also excellent, but I think her practice is full right now.

I don't quite get why you'd go to Queens for a dentist but Brooklyn for a gynecologist.

For a dentist in Brooklyn, I highly recommend Dr. Ivan Strukan.
He might seem a little laid-back, almost like he's rushing through it, but honestly, he’s a pro. You’ll look at his work afterward and be pleasantly surprised by how perfect everything turned out. Highly recommended...👍
