During my first pregnancy, everything was smooth sailing. I played it safe, avoided heavy lifting, and didn't overdo it. But now? This second pregnancy is a whole different beast. My little one is already a year old, and I’m constantly picking them up, tossing them around—I just don't have the luxury of sitting down and resting. Even though my delivery went perfectly, I'm already starting to panic because every doctor I talk to starts hedging their bets with those vague, non-committal warnings.😛"Oh, you're young, so it's fine," or "Well, we can't guarantee..." blah, blah, blah.
Look, I used to rely heavily on Voltaren too—pills and injections. I ended up taking it constantly because the pain just kept getting more intense and frequent. Now? Well, I completely trashed my stomach. It got to the point where even if I wanted to take something for the pain, I can't touch a single pill without worrying about the consequences.
I also tried all the physical therapy routes—hot stone treatments, mud wraps, ultrasounds, specific exercises, using the stretching machines... everything. While I was actually undergoing the treatment, I felt great. But now? They won't let me do any of it.
My diagnosis is lumbar radiculopathy.
The EMG results came back looking like this: there is definitely a moderate, somewhat significant neural lesion for my age (I'm only 23!) recorded in the muscles of my right foot and calf, while the rest of the muscle findings are basically normal.
The EMG points toward a moderate, somewhat subacute S1 (L5) radiculopathy on the right side.
Then the CT scan says this: the L4-L5 level shows a small dorsolateral disc protrusion on the right—it’s most visible on the coronal reconstruction slices—which is pressing against the dural sac and compressing the nerve root on the right.

I went to physical therapy, which gave me some temporary relief, but once that was over, I was right back where I started. Everything is just the same as before.
Everyone keeps giving me the same old line: "You're too young, it'll pass." Nobody actually wants to listen to what I'm going through.
The worst part is the pain; it starts right at my tailbone and shoots all the way down my right leg. It's gotten so bad that I can't even put any weight on that leg, let alone describe how much it hurts.
They told me that surgery is the absolute last resort.
I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through this? Any experiences, advice, or even just a word of wisdom?
Thanks in advance.
