I honestly find myself wondering how anyone can muster the willpower to test something that clearly poses such a massive risk, especially when you have a hundred different people trying to explain why it’s a terrible idea...
I suppose those hundred voices are just somehow less intelligent than the one person ignoring them, right?

Your best bet is just waiting for the actual eye exam.. though honestly, it strikes me as odd you didn't realize your vision was slipping sooner.
I have a prescription myself, and I noticed the blurriness pretty quickly. Acting fast and getting glasses helped prevent my prescription from spiraling even further. Straining your eyes just makes everything worse.
