COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2: What do we know? in Health ·
Hey there—I wasn't quite sure if there was a specific thread for these kinds of questions, so I figured I’d just toss this out here and see what happens...

So, here’s the deal: I started feeling the effects of COVID-19 back on December 3rd, and then I officially tested positive on the 5th. My official isolation period wrapped up on the 13th, but honestly? I’m still feeling pretty rough. I’ve completely lost my sense of taste and smell, the coughing won't quit, and I just feel totally wiped out—just zero energy, you know? Plus, breathing feels a little heavy at times, and I keep getting these minor low-grade fevers around 99°F.
I went ahead and got a chest X-ray and some blood work done, and everything came back looking fine... though they did mention something about acute laryngitis or whatever...

What I'm really wondering is, how long can someone actually stay out on sick leave? I’ve already been off for 20 days now, but let's be real—I am definitely not in any shape to be heading back to the office yet. Do you think my doctor will extend my leave, or is she just going to tell me to get back to work?
How to sign up for Medicare in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Quick questions for you all...

So, I just got laid off, and now I need to get my health insurance sorted out through Medicare & Medicaid Services. From what I gather, all I really need is that one specific application form, and then I'm good to go?
Also—just wondering—can I actually just print the form at home, fill it out, and drop it off, or am I stuck having to go buy a physical copy somewhere?
Hey everyone!

I was wondering—does anyone know how long an e-manual referral for an orthopantomogram (dental X-ray) actually stays valid? Is it just a month, or do you get a full 90 days?
I think I read somewhere that since back in 2016, they changed the rules so referrals last for 90 days... but honestly, I can never be quite sure about these things...
Let me bring this topic back up for a second...
I’m really curious to hear from anyone here who’s actually gone through this procedure. I mean, how much has the tech actually moved the needle in just the last few years? Are they using any fancy new types of lenses now, or is it pretty much the same old story?

The thing is, I’m planning on getting my vision corrected once I’ve saved up enough cash—it's a big goal! Mostly because I’m heading out to work on a ship soon, and since my prescription is so high, laser surgery basically isn't even an option for me...

I'm guessing the cost is around $3.25 per eye? Or is there a way to find a better deal? I remember someone mentioning something about traveling to Mexico for laser options...
Flat feet help? in Health ·
Michelle Lopez86 said:Look, there are definitely foot exercises out there to strengthen those muscles, but I wouldn't bet the house on it being a 100% fix... I doubt it.

I went to see my doctor and she basically told me that unless you're under 18, the insurance isn't covering the cost of the inserts.

Personally, I ended up just buying my own custom ones—they take a mold of your foot and everything—and man, they work. My feet feel way more level now.

Just so I can clarify things a little bit—I’m pretty happy with how it's looking... I just really hope it doesn't drift too far inward...

If you don't mind me asking—and I promise I’m not being nosy!—how much did those supplies actually run you?...

Hey everyone!

So, I've dealt with flat feet since I was a kid—just one of those things I never really thought twice about back then—but lately, it’s started getting a little annoying... mostly because when I'm out walking, my feet just seem to roll inward quite a bit.

I was wondering about a few things.
1. Is it actually possible to fix this kind of thing once you're an adult just by doing some exercises?
2. If I go see an orthopedist through my insurance, does that cover anything, and what's the deal with the cost of orthopedic inserts?
Just curious to get some thoughts on this...

MCV 95.6 [76.5 - 92.1]
MCH 32.9 [24.3 - 31.5]
MPV 6.9 [7-10.4]
(S)Bilirubin, total 6.6 [7-30]

And one more thing:
(S) Glucose 5.7 [3.9 - 5.9]

Honestly, this part actually has me a little worried—it's sitting right up there near the upper limit. None of my family members have issues with blood sugar, so I'm wondering... could this be because I had something sweet about 12 hours before the blood draw? Maybe it threw things off slightly...
