So, here’s the deal—I had this fracture in my right wrist where the radius bone didn't knit back together properly. It got so messy they actually had to perform a bone graft, taking bone and marrow from my hip just to craft a sort of biological wedge for the radius. Between the plates, the rods, and all those screws... I basically felt like a damn cyborg for a while. And honestly? Even now, I still haven't clawed my way back to 100% mobility in that right wrist.
Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly with the left one.😢
I have the exact same diagnosis... they're planning to take bone from my hip for a transplant too. Honestly, I'm flying blind here—I don't know much about the actual procedure, what the recovery looks like, or even how big the scars will be. If anyone could share some details so I can wrap my head around what's coming, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. 🙂
So, here's my situation: my scaphoid fractured and failed to heal (my own fault, really), and now surgery is the only way forward. They have to harvest bone from my hip to graft it in. That’s about all I know so far. Has anyone else gone through this specific process? How long does the recovery actually take? Any info at all would be incredibly helpful. 🙂
