Prem is already taken in the post above—it totally blindsided good old Jesse Sullivan5—so that one's off the table. Looking at the posts above that, the Russian league was settled ages ago, so no need there either. It would have been nice to see a thread for Ligue 1, then Bundesliga, then Serie A, topped off by La Liga. But unfortunately, Michelle Palmer6 ruined the sequence early, so that plan is dead and those leagues are still wide open.

Given the massive rush I'm expecting, ☕ it'll basically be first-come, first-served—unless, of course, someone who's really proven themselves in the past gets a bit of priority.

Alright, let the games begin.

Take it easy, guys—there's plenty for everyone. ☕

Here's the photo—judge for yourself. I don't see a clear brand name, so it's likely just some generic junk.

Now that I'm looking closer, the max output says 375W, while the specs for this Dell OptiPlex say 400W.

Found out the previous owner had an X800 GTO in here, if that matters to anyone.

Honestly, I'm leaning toward grabbing a more efficient Core 2 Duo and that GTS 250 instead of chasing newer, pricier cards that might actually perform worse. Better CPU and a better GPU for basically the same price...🤷

128-bit is better—higher bandwidth. Also, if you're choosing between DDR3 and DDR5, go with the DDR5, even if it means less memory overall.

Let's be real—it's not like I can run anything major on an ancient dual-core Pentium, and I'm hardly a hardcore gamer anyway. But if given the choice, I'd take the 128-bit option.

If I were certain my power supply could handle it, I'd grab that gts 250 The New Guy mentioned immediately—but right now, I'm not sure.

And yeah, I didn't mention having a spare PSU—it's probably junk just like this one, but since we're talking, the model is SZ-400WP4. Maybe I should just sell both and buy one decent unit? 😁

So, am I actually going to feel any difference between a 128-bit and a 64-bit bus?

I was hunting for the 128-bit version—figured more bandwidth would be an advantage—though I know memory capacity itself doesn't really matter here.

First off, thanks to everyone for taking the time to explain what I actually need and why 👍

After wasting enough time on Google and doing some basic self-study, I finally started digging through Craigslist. Even though I could have found anything anywhere, I stuck to Washington, D.C.—mostly because buying locally is easier and I can at least try to run some amateur tests on these used cards before handing over the cash 🤷

So, my shortlist boiled down to four options:

AMD HD 6570 (or the version with more memory)

AMD HD 4670 (could also go for one with more memory)

NVIDIA GTX 440

And lastly, the most expensive option—though if it turns out to be significantly better than the others, I might stretch my budget a bit...
AMD HD 6670

All of these should run fine even on my pathetic power supply, so really, it just comes down to performance

I know I’m probably being a nuisance by now, but if anyone feels like weighing in—since you guys clearly know your stuff—I'd appreciate a verdict

I dig this—specifically 🙏

Even if some of these are a bit out of my price range—they feel a little high-end for what I'm after—I'll make it work and just adjust ☕

The only real issue is that I'm based right around Washington, D.C., and you seem to be pulling listings from way outside the area 🤣

And yeah, buying through Craigslist can be a headache—but if we could settle on cash on delivery, maybe I'll just bully the mailman into letting me test it first... we'll see

Either way, thanks a lot 👍

a logical approach would be--
a) grabbing a GPU
b) swapping out the PSU
c) if you have the cash, changing the CPU
d) definitely adding at least another gig of RAM

you could probably put something together for around $120.

the motherboard model should be printed right on the board itself.

As for the budget, I'm looking at $250-- $100 max for used parts. I'm assuming that $120 covers this entire list of upgrades you mentioned, not just a graphics card—because the whole setup wouldn't be worth it even if I bought a GPU for $267 and dropped it in. 🤣

And I'm definitely not planning on upgrading this rig any further. I just need a GPU to keep things running for maybe a year, maybe eighteen months. After that, I'll be able to drop some real money on a completely new build, and then I'll just give this one to my kid or pass it along whenever.

Regarding the motherboard, it's definitely an ASRock. If there are multiple versions, I'll have to figure out how to read the label.

Hey everyone,

So, I see there's a massive debate going on here about high-end GPUs for even higher-end rigs—people picking them out down to the last detail just to run the latest MMORPGs at a million FPS, or to make sure CoD doesn't stutter right when you're trying to land a sniper shot... honestly, I'm just talking nonsense because I have zero clue what people actually play anymore or what's considered "in." Why don't I know? Because my beloved PC can't handle anything more demanding than Minesweeper—or maybe Solitaire, if I feel like attempting an overclock. 😁

I'm exaggerating, obviously, though I'm not far off.

Anyway, I recently got my hands on a used computer—old and beat up, really, but new to me. 😍 They say don't look a gift horse in the mouth, especially if that horse is missing its tail, hair, teeth, and eyesight—it's still better than your legless cow.

Since I'm posting in this thread, it's obvious I'm having some kind of issue with my graphics card. And yeah, I am. Actually, I'm not, because I don't even have one. 🤣

So, the specs on this junker are roughly this:

CPU: Intel Pentium D 820 (this one)

Motherboard: 4CoreDual - VSTA (I think this is this one, CPU-Z won't show the manufacturer, just what I wrote above).

PSU: ATX - 400W (would be great if it actually listed the brand, but it doesn't, whatever).

It has a gig of RAM, which is probably the only relevant data point here—I doubt anyone cares what kind of burner or floppy drive it has. 🤔 🤷

So, here's the deal. I need a GPU that won't immediately melt my processor. My budget is as pathetic as the hardware, so I'm perfectly fine with used parts.

What's it for? Just browsing the web, running aBd, and playing a game or two. 🙏 I don't know. That's it.

If anyone feels like getting nostalgic and remembers a card that could actually pull this off, I'd appreciate it. We can even work out some temporary protection for my motherboard's PDF. ☕

Anyone here actually know their way around TVs?

I'm looking for a budget LED repair guy—the PDF from Best Buy just lists the high-end stuff starting at $1,000, which is ridiculous to even ask about 🙈.🤣

Jessica Gonzalez said:It felt like he just barreled in like a runaway freight train, with zero chance to brake or steer out of it. I guess that’s really what separates an idiot from a decent driver; a real driver knows it's not just about following the rules of the road, but realizing anything could happen at any moment and staying alert.

Like Michelle Palmer6 said, they're both at fault—though the one who blew through the red light a bit harder takes more blame. But strictly looking at the law? Only the driver from Pennsylvania is liable for causing the crash.

Even at eighty miles per hour, the driver—and anyone sitting behind him—wouldn't have walked away from that one.

Sure, he’s liable because he was driving like a maniac—that’s not even up for debate and he needs to answer for it. But if the idiot hadn't run that red light, the accident wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Take it easy, guys—the World Cup isn't going anywhere ☕

What is that circus act Rajcman doing back in America again?

It’s basically against the rules to comment on someone else's bans—which is pretty much what you did in that first post of yours a few days ago, effectively kicking off this whole debate myself.

That specific ban doesn't apply to you—nor does the reason why he, Pilatus, and Joe seem to be facing disciplinary action every other week.

Since when did this place become a venue for debating other people's bans and account suspensions? 🤷
We’ll try this approach first—with some occasional adjustments along the way if things get messy

If it doesn't work out, we'll just shut it down
