Miscarriage: Everything you need to know

1. Abortion—specifically, the what, the how, and the why. Essentially, what does the actual procedure entail, what are the potential consequences, and what are the statistical risks or failure rates involved?
2. Where can this be done, and what is the total timeline for the whole process, including recovery time?
3. What kind of costs are we looking at?
Please don't come at me; nobody is actually planning on doing this, I am simply curious about the facts...
Thanks for any insight you can provide.🙂
That’s a great question, really. But there’s hardly any answers to go on, which I guess tells you everything you need to know...
So, when we’re talking about abortion, there are just a few basic things you should probably know. Basically, an AB can be done at almost any major city hospital through their OB-GYN department. You can also go through private clinics, though they usually end up referring patients back to the main hospital for the actual procedure anyway. The "procedure" itself doesn't actually take that long, and it's done under either local or general anesthesia. Usually, a patient checks into the hospital in the morning, and if everything goes smoothly without any complications, they can head home later that same afternoon. As for costs, it varies quite a bit. Private practices likely have their own set pricing, while public hospitals follow a different scale. Before anything actually happens, the patient has to undergo an ultrasound, confirm their blood type, and run a few other tests—depending on how the pregnancy is progressing (like checking for an ectopic pregnancy, for instance). And I guess it's important to remember that a miscarriage isn't always a choice. Often, it's just a way the body protects itself. If you have any specific questions, you really should just ask around at a clinic, whether it's a large hospital or a private practice. They'll have the answers.
