As far as we know, everything with her liver looks fine. We actually went as far as eliminating certain foods for five days just to rule out any dietary triggers, but she isn't eating anything out of the ordinary compared to her usual routine. Her face seems to be losing a bit of its fullness, but meanwhile, there’s more of a breakout on her arms. She has a rash covering almost her entire body, except for the area from her knees down to her ankles, and there's just a little bit on her feet.

She saw the dermatologist today, though the doctor couldn't exactly examine the rash because she was wearing a thick layer of liquid foundation. Again, she started grilling us about what medications she's taking, so we gave her the full list all over again. The doctor noted that dex is actually commonly used for allergies, so it's likely not a reaction to the dex itself. She mentioned she’ll write up a treatment plan, possibly extending the current cream regimen. She was supposed to get some kind of injection for the itching, too—I don't know the specifics, I actually headed home before that part happened. Honestly, she is slowly losing her mind from the constant itching.
I have a question regarding dexamethasone. My girlfriend has a brain tumor, and while she was waiting to start her actual chemo, they had her on Controloc, mannitol, and dex. She was getting half an infusion bottle in the morning and half in the evening, plus some medication for her bladder while she was hospitalized in a clinic near Indianapolis. During that time, she developed a slight rash in a few spots, though it wasn't itchy at all. It wasn't until she was moved over to the main hospital in Indianapolis and actually started chemotherapy that the rash began spreading and itching intensely.

The doctors in Indianapolis can't seem to figure out what's causing it. They swapped out the Controloc for Peptoran, stopped the bladder medication, but she’s still receiving the mannitol and dex—only now she’s getting a full infusion bottle all at once instead of split doses. I'm terrified they might pull her off chemotherapy because of this, but I honestly don't think the chemo is the culprit since the rash showed up before that even started. I have my suspicions about the dex, but the doctor claims he’s never heard of anyone being allergic to dexamethasone. But does it have to be an allergy? Couldn't it just be a side effect of the drug?

They are currently using liquid powder and some kind of vitamin cream on the area. It looks a bit like the rash has darkened, and she says the liquid powder helps with the itching, but I can't really tell if it's actually clearing up. For context, she doesn't have any known allergies.
