Personally, I’d argue they’ve been running a wartime economy since 1941 and just never stopped...

There’s actually a thread about this just a little further down. It could have gone in the alternative section, but I get it—given everything happening with the war in Ukraine, it makes sense where it is.

Just my two cents here—I’d probably offer Putin Russia all the way up to El Paso, because honestly, that guy is totally nuts and you just never know what he'll do.

Man, forget El Paso. You'd have to push them back at least to the Karlovac-Virovitica line...

The last independent Russian outlet, Meduza, is reporting that fires have broken out at no fewer than five different mobilization centers. One of them was reportedly in Saint Petersburg.

I honestly don't get them... they aren't afraid of hitting the streets to face down the regime, but they're terrified of fertilizing Ukrainian fields. I guess being dead is better than rotting in a Russian prison...
Of course, there are plenty of people who back Putin and support this whole mess, but if you can't even get 0.5% of the population out on the street to say "stop this madness," then what's the point?
Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
If you can't manage to get 100,000 people out on the streets to protest this madness in a massive metropolis like New York City, then honestly, everyone deserves to be drafted...

You forgot that Ukrainians don't even exist. They're just fighting against NATO mercenaries and other Nazis over there... basically liberating Ukrainians—sorry, I mean Russians (same thing)—from all the evil crawling out of the West...

Well, they finally shut off the gas. Word is the European Union is going to be sweating bullets over this one. Honestly, they really need to make up their minds—do we want to break a sweat or just freeze? 😁
I almost hope they never turn it back on toward the European Union. They can deal with the consequences over there...

just like that random incident where a Lukoil executive fell out of a hospital window...
since you aren't supposed to smoke in hospitals, he just leaned out the window and... well...
yet another death linked to Russian smoking habits... along with the chef in Moscow and all those warehouse workers and airport staff over in Crimea...
Russians will smoke just about anything they're served... though I see some "patriots" here doing the same thing...

Personally, I'd bet a Ukrainian woman from the next room pushed him. I'm half expecting a report saying she forgot her Azov Regiment ID while she was making her escape. Hopefully, she made it safely to Finland or Estonia... 😁

Villanelle from "Killing Eve" is basically an amateur compared to this agent... 😁

Just a little bit of Soviet history coming back to life for us.

Some hackers are out here trolling the Russians in Crimea—they actually hacked a digital billboard right at the bridge entrance to display a "Welcome to Ukraine" sign.

goldenowl73 said:I’m hearing reports that Russian military gear and ammo are being stashed right inside the nuclear plant, specifically in the engine room—which, honestly, is just absolutely wild if it's true.

Russians placed equipment and ammunition directly in The Engine room of The Zaporizhzhya NPP.
If you check out the footage starting at the 0:25 mark, you can actually spot several vehicles sporting those "Z" markings—it's pretty intense stuff to watch. #Ukraine https://t.co/axmDourTaP

The engine room is basically the machine hall—that massive space housing the steam turbines and generators (you can see them in the video), along with a ton of other support systems. It’s mostly part of the secondary steam loop, so there’s a lower chance of radiation exposure there...

Either way, weapons have no business being anywhere near a power plant. You never know when some reckless soldier might drop a shell in all the wrong places...

But hey, at least they’re busy buying those Chinese commercial robot dogs, throwing some black cloth over them, and pretending they’re this cutting-edge, homegrown military tech. 🙏

With two global superpowers involved, I’m sure there won't be any "dominant" partner in this little partnership.

When I first saw this, I thought of that Boston Dynamics video, but that would probably be way too sophisticated for the Russians. 😁

I was actually wondering the same thing. It seems like some people just struggle with basic logic. I guess being "neutral" doesn't leave much room for common sense...
Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
I honestly don't get how anyone can still claim to be "neutral" after everything we've seen since day one—from Putin's rhetoric to the constant stream of garbage coming from the aggressors, all of which they back up with actual actions on the ground...

Harold Doyle3 said:If this global warming thing keeps trending upward, the only places left for Europeans, Chinese, Indians, or Arabs to actually survive might end up being Scandinavia or Russia. Americans already have Canada and Alaska tucked away, while those folks in the southern hemisphere can look toward Antarctica... honestly, all the effort of some musician won't matter, and even if you had 100,000 atomic bombs, what's the point? You'd just be using them to commit mass suicide.
Unless Russia adapts, its fate is already sealed.

Maybe if we used atomic bombs with surgical precision, we could kick up just enough dust to block out the sun and stall the rising temperatures... 😁
