kiss me said:They were elected to get things done, so we’ll just have to count the casualties once the dust settles. The reality is that meaningful change takes time, and even Eric Adams admitted in a recent interview that they are still dealing with a crew that is actively working against them. Honestly, I find that hard to doubt. When someone finally breaks a twenty-year streak of the same old guard, it feels less like stepping into an office and more like walking straight into a den of vipers.
I actually know a few people working within the New York City government who have confirmed this exact situation. It seems like a massive chunk of the municipal workforce is essentially dedicated to sabotaging anyone trying to make progress. These employees are practically untouchable when it comes to being fired, and since they aren't happy about the shift in leadership, they spend their days doing the absolute bare minimum while messing with anyone who tries to change the status quo. They’re just coasting until retirement, praying that the next administration will be more like the old regime where they can live the high life without lifting a finger.
I haven't really been paying much attention to the local political scene, the campaigns, or the constant news cycle lately, but I finally sat down this week to catch up on everything, and I honestly have this overwhelming impression that we have never seen such toxic campaigns, candidates, or clashes before.
It’s honestly exhausting. It makes me want to just pack my bags, move to Canada, and renounce my American citizenship altogether because the whole election circus has become so utterly repulsive.
It isn't even a matter of people dropping their masks anymore; it feels more like everyone is just competing to see who can be the most disgusting.
And don't even get me started on all that calculated maneuvering and how they're exploiting the pandemic... it's just slimy.
This honestly feels less like a platform and more like an exhaustive list of everything they promised to do, yet somehow managed to overlook during their last few terms in office.

There aren't any budget cuts or savings happening here, and the headcount remains exactly the same.
It’s the classic Republican Party playbook: trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Honestly, I don't give a damn about Boohoo’s size charts because they never seem to align with reality.
I always find myself having to size up by one for dresses and jeans—sometimes even two—and when it comes to sweaters, I’m easily jumping up two or three sizes just to get a decent fit.
T-shirts are usually more or less fine, though.
It really depends on the cut and what kind of fabric we're talking about, but I'd probably say somewhere in the 50 to 52 range.
Teretan solved a similar mess by sticking to a steady routine of protein shakes and eating big, healthy meals. It took him a couple of years of staying on track before he finally hit his target weight.
So, Doc, if you want results, you’re going to need a nutritionist, a solid trainer, and enough patience to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

I usually grab a size down if there’s any stretch involved, though for tees I go for the largest size—but honestly, it all really depends on the specific cut of the garment, because I’ve had instances where I buy two of the exact same size and one fits perfectly while the other feels way too small.
Charles Gomez4 said:Only once did an ASOS shirt arrive in the wrong size. I sent it back for a tiny bit of cash since it was light, and they just credited my account.
Anyway, Violeta 👍 I have two pairs of pants, totally happy with them.
The pants I ordered from ASOS arrived way too big for me, which was a bit of a headache, but luckily they were a boyfriend cut so the fit wasn't totally ruined. I ended up taking them to my seamstress to get them taken in a bit, and now they actually fit perfectly.
I’m still scratching my head over how I managed to overestimate myself so badly that I went two sizes up, because after that initial blunder, I haven't exactly hit the mark again. I ended up having to take that dress I bought on eBay to a tailor to have the shoulders taken in, though aside from that little mishap, it’s actually perfect.
Can anyone help me make sense of these results? (I've attached the image). This is just the first set in a whole series of tests I'm waiting on.
Oh, and I had my OGTT yesterday—though I recall when I did my physical back when I was getting hired two years ago, the numbers were significantly lower; I don't remember them exactly, but I think they were around 2.5 and 4.
(S) OGTT 0 min. 5.7 mmol/l
(S) OGTT 120 min 6.0 mmol/l
My endocrinologist sent me off for testing because they suspect there might be some issues with my thyroid or ovaries; I’ve gained nearly 65 pounds in just two years, which is baffling since my diet is much cleaner now and I’m being far more active with regular exercise.
Angela Wright said:I’d honestly suggest looking into George Washington’s private practice. Since dealing with my usual community clinic is such a massive, stressful headache because of the constant crowds and total chaos, I decided to switch to a specialist in private practice who is an absolute powerhouse in her field. Beyond being a top-tier expert, she is incredibly kind and takes the time to walk you through everything in detail; she won't let you out the door until every single one of your questions is answered calmly and without any rush. I actually managed to cover the costs through a private insurance provider where, for $67/month, I get three specialist visits a year of my choice (I always pick my OBGYN), plus some lab work including Pap tests, swabs, and ultrasounds. My warmest recommendation would be to try sorting things out this way first, and then you can slowly start searching for a primary doctor. You're always going to need one eventually anyway whenever you need a prescription or a referral for further testing.
That was actually my backup plan if I couldn't find a decent primary care doctor within a reasonable timeframe—even my mother-in-law suggested her own doctor, whom she really likes, but he doesn't do ultrasounds and his schedule is fully booked indefinitely.
Thanks for the heads-up, I'm going to look into supplemental insurance and then I'll get moving on this. 😍🎉
Advice and help needed
About six months ago, my mom had her uterus and ovaries removed because of a benign tumor weighing in at roughly seven or eight pounds; apparently, my late grandmother dealt with similar issues, and my aunt did too.👎 When I signed up with a new doctor recently and mentioned this history, she told me I absolutely need to get an pelvic ultrasound and a Pap smear immediately. I've been trying to find a gynecologist here in Washington, D.C. (since all my previous care was handled on the other side of the country), but every single specialist I’ve been recommended seems completely booked up and isn't taking new patients.
I am looking for any recommendations for gynecologists in the Brooklyn area (to be honest, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to hospitals and doctors, so my ideal match would be someone incredibly thorough who actually takes the time to explain test results and findings) so I can stay on top of this and keep everything under control.
Please don't judge me for dragging this out for two months, as I've been juggling multiple appointments with endocrinologists and running lab tests simultaneously to deal with a total hormonal collapse)🙂
