Joe Biden, President of the United States vol. V in Political Scene ·
Harold Davis6 said:So what, everyone just gets a free pass now because the other guys are just as bad? 🤔

...it's this total blanket amnesty🤔 they give themselves; the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and all their little satellites—they're embedded in every single layer of power, from the judiciary right up to the Supreme Court... they are essentially two sides of the same coin. They grant themselves forgiveness without ever bothering to ask you, or me, or the American people... there’s actually this strange phenomenon where occasionally one of their own rogue actors pops out of the woodwork—usually through some media outlets working in lockstep with them—and suddenly, the whole system turns on him, much like a pack of wolves descending on a lone, weak member of the pack. Honestly, that particular phenomenon should probably be registered with the U.S. Patent Office as a piece of protected cultural heritage...🍿

wearydriver40 said:The "worst leader," the "accidental nation," the bathroom flood nonsense... it's all just lies cooked up by Republican scum who couldn't care less about the truth. It's pathetic to cite those as actual failures or proof against Biden. But I guess if you're a fool in that party, you'll swallow anything they feed you.

Do you really have to call him a "gaunt anemic" too?!😁

For those criminal types, it's hard to understand—they just get handed cushy political appointments and don't even have to show up to work. Who would bother struggling with a stupid vacuum cleaner?

...using soccer terminology, as a former Prime Minister of the USA, we're talking RED CARD 👎 ...
...as the President of the USA, using soccer terms, we're looking at a YELLOW CARD...
...you can read my full explanation in my post from a few days ago—I really don't feel like repeating myself...
...if he actually pulls this off and fulfills everything he's promised—which, in my view, and I believe the vast majority of Americans would agree, he certainly could—then he could easily become the lifelong President of the USA..👍
...and regarding the adjectives you've so graciously bestowed upon me, and the political party you've decided to lump me into 🤦 you might as well take the title of a Route 11 album 🍿

Charles Carter4 said:Did you catch that? He hit the nail on the head regarding our relations with Mexico—honestly, I don't think even his most dedicated haters could find a single weak spot in what he said today 😁
I also really appreciated his take on Porfirio and those Šešelj supporters who are so prevalent lately.👍

...let’s step back a few years to when Joe Biden held one of the most significant positions in the country—serving as our Prime Minister, if you will—and his track record was such that he’s still haunted by the reputation of being one of the worst leaders the United States has ever seen. His public demeanor—for instance, making comments about being the leader of some "accidental nation"—was so off-putting that even his own party members eventually turned their backs on him...
...and as for your comment about him being right concerning Mexico and diplomatic relations... well, if we're looking for weak points, just look at someone like Milorad Dodik, among many others. There is an endless list to draw from...
...and now, Joe Biden as President? I’ve mentioned this before—it’s the ultimate high-level position, the pinnacle of power, completely devoid of real accountability... it seems almost tailor-made for him, as if he were simply hand-picked by the powers that be who pull the strings behind the scenes...
...look, I was raised to respect everyone—we are all creations of God, after all—and that includes the President of the United States, Joe Biden. However, I expect two things from him: first, that he conducts himself as a true Statesman in every sense of the word, with an unwavering commitment to patriotism—and I mean *real* patriotism, without any hesitation... and second, that he goes privately, away from the cameras, to personally apologize to the parents and relatives of the fallen American veterans whose names are etched on the memorial plaque at a site like Auschwitz, regarding his comments about tossing things aside... (those heroes' remains were found in an unspeakable state—truly martyred)...

Best regards!

How can you even put the soccer team's parade in the same bucket as people hitting the streets for a protest where autocrats are threatening them with batons, police, the military, and water cannons?
That's the whole damn point—people showed up in massive numbers despite the threats, whereas in Russia, if you're standing up for some higher ideal like freedom, you might get lucky if 200 Muscovites show up. So, whatever happens, happens...

...look, I value your perspective👍 but 😁 my take is that back during the 101. era, there was actually MORE freedom of speech than we have in the current day—and please, don't ask me to list specific examples, because I'll just get banned from here, or someone will start throwing labels at me like "troll," "shill," or "hater" just for commenting on the truth...🤦 goodness knows you'd probably have to organize a protest down at a local park in a city like Chicago just because of my opinion 🤣 though even then, some "outside agitator" would likely swoop in and turn the whole thing into a fiasco 🤦😁 oh, and let's be real—the old crew at 101. was mostly just clutching their wallets and protecting their profits rather than defending actual free speech 🤦
...anyway, I'm watching the news right now and there's this one Moscowite saying he's proud to go to war, but both his brains are telling him absolutely not—there's no way he's going over there to die. 🤣

Larry Sanchez7 said:Since everyone’s talking about panic in Russia, does anyone actually have footage of people fleeing or civilians storming airports and borders?
They’ll either spontaneously hit the streets tonight or they’ll just lose their minds...

Back in the day, if 100,000 people marched in Washington, D.C. just to defend some radio station, then you could easily see half a million hitting the streets in Moscow today. But they won't. So, honestly, who even cares...

...uh, look, old friend, don't take this the wrong way, but regarding everything you just compared—you brought up 9/11. 🤦 That wasn't some grand act of defense; it was pure manipulation of the public... the key players from that era basically turned into high-paid lobbyists and bureaucrats once things settled down. Just thinking about where they ended up (and where they are now) and the massive salaries they pull—take their "heroine" Z.V.M., for instance, compared to the 99% of protesters who were just caught up in the moment... which is something, say, you didn't mention, like the homecoming for the US Men's National Soccer Team after they took 2nd in the World Cup. There were roughly half a million Americans gathered in Times Square—though some shady forces actually cut the microphone on the stage while the players were still up there celebrating with the crowd🤦 )...
...rather, the rest of Europe and the world really need to watch carefully about who they let across the borders during this mass exodus from Russia...

Not gonna happen. Putin’s got seven different banks to his name—he’d probably try to run it all back regardless of the consequences. It feels like nothing more than some kind of boyish fantasy, I guess.
I guess he couldn't care less about what kind of legacy he leaves behind—honestly. If he actually gave a damn about the well-being of Russia itself, things would have looked a lot different during his earlier years, let alone with this whole invasion mess.
The guy is just sick. Period.

...honestly, forget about those seven banks for a second🤔 maybe he’s convinced himself he’s invincible. I mean, back in the day, you had troops stationed in places like Romania—you know, the land famous for Dracula’s castle—but now, if you read the various news outlets, it seems like HE spends his entire existence hunkered down in some underground bunker 😕 draw your own conclusions from that. 😉

Michelle Young50 said:If the Russians feel threatened by NATO expansion and are desperate for some kind of buffer zone, I think the most elegant solution would be to establish an "independent" people's republic covering everything from New York City, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Memphis all the way down to the Appalachians. Both Ukrainians and NATO would likely get on board with that idea

...well, here is my counter-proposal: let every single Russian aggressor just pack up, leave UA, and head straight back to Mother Russia👍 and then everyone wins; us, you, most of the Russian soldiers, and especially dear Mr. Putin—who, if he could find a way to build a time machine (perhaps those Russian engineers are working on something in that department? 😁)—would much rather travel back to the past and swallow that order to invade the sovereign state of UA whole...🙂

Sean Watson3 said:So, I suppose this is all about immediate escalation? Is the logical next step just a tactical nuke since they want to strike at the heart of the Russian Federation?

It feels like pure desperation. If they actually drop a bomb, we’re looking at a total freeze—a complete severance of everything possible with Russia.

I suspect the European Union would follow up by slapping sanctions on any nation still trading with the Russian Federation, including China. It’s a move that threatens to plunge everyone into widespread poverty.

The Russians might not go hungry, but they'll certainly be sent fifty years back in time.

...sorry man, but let's just leave the "blind guesswork" and the constant chatter about nukes alone...👍 what good are sanctions, or poverty, or even stepping backward when the reality is that there wouldn't be a "me" or a "you"—there wouldn't be people, or even the countries we know today 🤷
...it's probably better to focus on everything else regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine; there is still plenty of substance to write about there...

gentlerider7 said:Medvedev just sat down for an interview with that French TV station LCI, and he's out here claiming that Russia actually stopped a global war from breaking out:

https://www-gazeta-ru.translate.goog..._x_tr_pto=wapp

So, during this chat with LCI, he was asked if humanity has already stumbled into a whole new world war, and his answer was pretty much a "not quite yet," though you can hear the cynicism dripping off him.

“I hope not, but for now, things are being kept under control,” he said. But then—because why not make everything more dramatic?—he goes off on a biblical tangent, bringing up the Revelation of John the Theologian and the whole Apocalypse thing, saying, “The first angel sounded his trumpet and there was battle and fire”—so, hey, at least the first angel blew the horn, right? But he claims the actual apocalypse hasn't arrived yet, and he’s hoping it stays that way.

According to him, all of Moscow's political maneuvering, including this whole special military operation, is supposedly designed specifically to prevent World War III from happening in the first place.

Medvedev also went on to argue that the military operation is tied directly to protecting what he calls Russia's vital interests, adding that as the deputy chairman of the Security Council, he believes if there wasn't a direct threat to Moscow's interests, they wouldn't have even started this.

“We could walk away from this operation right now if we wanted to,” he claimed. He mentioned that they tried talking to the Ukrainians, the Europeans, and the United States, too, but apparently, those talks went absolutely nowhere because nobody was listening to them.

Then, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation pivoted to blaming the escalation, basically saying Moscow was “forced” into ramping things up in Ukraine.

He argued that this entire armed conflict could have been avoided if the Ukrainian leadership had just "grown some backbone" and faced reality, claiming they shouldn't have spent eight years targeting their own people in Donetsk and Lugansk, which he says led to thousands of deaths among both Ukrainian and Russian citizens. He also pointed the finger at Ukraine's desire to join NATO and their statements about needing to rebuild their nuclear capabilities.

... once you start telling such incredible lies—when lying becomes a habit so powerful that you actually begin to believe your own fabrications—well, then there's just no helping you at all... It is truly identical to the communication used by the Russian aggressors in UA and the Mexican aggressors about thirty years ago in America (my one small aside being that the Mexicans earned such doctorates in deception that they probably should have established a Nobel Prize for Lying...
...invading other nations and denying the very existence of those nations (UA, America), killing, destroying, raping, and looting... and even now, after everything, they just lie and lie, 🙂🙂 lie, lie, 🤦🤦

Essentially; if Russia—or anyone else on this planet—actually launches a nuclear missile, we can all say our final goodbyes to the world as we currently know it... please read that carefully: I am talking about a NUCLEAR missile...

You make a quick speech at the UN Security Council, point a finger to "find someone to blame," and call it an attempt to prevent escalation. You could just shell Kaliningrad or launch some conventional strikes instead...

In my view, Putin is crazy enough to pull the trigger... especially since time is running out...

There isn't any "necessary" symmetry in threat levels regarding a Western nuclear response if Russ uses nukes in Ukraine. Why would Americans even use them? What exactly was attacked!?

It’s a grim situation...

...but let's get a bit more serious for a moment 😵 because if anyone, anywhere in the world, decided to "send" a nuclear candy—call it tactical, call it mini, call it a 505 with a stripe—the first thing that would happen is there wouldn't be anyone left here to write about it (well, except maybe andrea 😁). The world as we know it simply wouldn't exist anymore. To add to the irony, the only people left "alive" would probably be a few Americans and Russians 😵floating peacefully on the International Space Station... so, dear "peoples," "don't worry"—it’s not quite as if humanity 😵
is so incredibly stupid that it would wipe itself and its billions out of existence... ...all we can hope for is that "Uncle Sam" keeps sending as many conventional little candies as possible to "David against Goliath," until "David" finally manages to take down "Goliath" right in the middle of the field.😵

Thomas Walker84 said:In principle, though, it is "better" and fundamentally different because it's purely defensive—not aggressive, expansionist, or imperialistic. That is a massive distinction.

The same logic applies to the current war in Ukraine; this is a very clear case of a nation defending itself from being conquered and enslaved. Is that Ukrainian nationalism? Yes, but nobody can claim it's the same kind of nationalism as the Russian version.

Nationalism is actually a neutral concept, even if propaganda has twisted it into something negative, especially when people try to equate blame for the conflicts in the US and elsewhere.

Originally, nationalists are simply those who want a sovereign state for their people when one doesn't exist. We saw that with groups like the Basques, the Corsicans, or the Kurds—all in very different contexts.

Following that logic, 😉 anyone carrying an ID or a passport is technically a nationalist because they support, value, or simply utilize the state and the nation they were born into or chose later. If anyone is truly against "nationalism," they should probably just throw away all their identification and wander the world without any national affiliation 🙂 if they want to be consistent with their principles.

...Arthur Miller7, you articulated that perfectly 👍 and I especially love that you managed to "open the eyes" of that "Swiss" individual so effectively that they’d actually vote for you as president.🙂

If he had the guts to clear out those two from Berkshire Hathaway, he could definitely do the same here—it would actually show he’s paying attention and genuinely wants to fix the mess.

...it might have been more appropriate to ask, "Why doesn't Eric Adams just fire himself?" given his apparent lack of aptitude for the "job" at hand. 🤷

...here is another example—I know it's a tangent, but looking at the current federal administration, they've cycled through plenty of cabinet members while the President remains seemingly untouchable.🤷

Honestly, I feel like I should have to write an entire white paper for every little project mentioned here; trying to put everything into words on a message board is, quite frankly, both mentally and technically 👍impossible. Perhaps if you try reading my posts "between the lines," you might actually grasp the core of what I'm getting at... but anyway... money, money, money, and more money—that is essentially the alpha and the omega of the whole situation...☕ and we're talking about it in infinite quantities, and wouldn't that just be lovely if it were free...

...So, I just caught a glimpse of our very own Eric Adams out there cruising through the streets of New York City on his bicycle. It was quite the sight—citizens were waving and offering friendly greetings, and he was right there with them, returning the favor with a massive, genuine grin. He even pulled over at a little cafe in Queens to grab a ☕ while the locals watched him with nothing but affection. After that, he hopped back on his bike and pedaled over to a local BBQ joint in Brooklyn for some quick bites—honestly, the grill work there is 👍. Once he finished, he cycled back, jumped into his Volvo, and drove all the way up to a peak in the Catskills. There, he just sat and soaked in the view of NYC, breathing in that crisp, clean mountain air. Later, he was back on two wheels, riding through the city streets and just admiring the architecture of the building facades. Eventually, he got a bit worn out and took a breather, but then it was back to the grind—the whole cycle starts all over again. The people here seem to genuinely look forward to those unexpected moments when they spot him out and about...🙂🙂🙂

Grimko said:Well, you can’t really blame him—it’s kind of on you. During the campaign, he made a point of focusing almost exclusively on municipal issues and trash management—essentially using them as a shield to dodge those messy ideological debates. It worked, though; he pulled in a decent chunk of voters who aren't particularly political but just want a city that actually functions and stays clean. But now? When you look at the streets (and honestly, with this heat, you can practically *smell* the failure), you see the garbage isn't being picked up as often, the bins stay full, the parks are looking neglected, and meanwhile, the Mayor is busy chasing his own ideological whims. Of course people are losing their minds! If he could just fix the sanitation department and ensure we actually get the service we're paying for, he’d already be ahead of the curve.

It’s all well and good that they’re so skilled at collecting money—truly, a talent. Perhaps they should pivot that expertise toward raising funds for New York City. We need those European Union grants, reconstruction funds, and most importantly, private investors—especially the ones looking to launch new businesses. Come on, team, let's see some real fundraising; you certainly have enough for your own salaries. 😁

...you’ve laid it out quite clearly there, and I find myself agreeing with your assessment. 👍

...but I think I might actually lose my mind 😁 if I don't add one more thing: "There is simply no saving them." 🤷 For years, much of this "activist crowd" has been burning through massive amounts of cash—donations and taxpayer dollars from both the US federal government and New York City—on a scale of billions. And where did they get their "expertise"? Mostly by shouting into megaphones while acting as nothing more than a rubber stamp for whoever was in charge. 🙂 They insert themselves into every single project in NYC. Honestly, what kind of person protests against tearing down crumbling, outdated residential and commercial buildings under the guise of protecting "cultural landmarks" 🤮 or fights against the construction of NEW housing and office spaces? 🤦 The recent catastrophic earthquake in NYC exposed the sheer hypocrisy of their twisted brand of activism; most of the buildings that collapsed or were severely damaged were exactly those "protected" structures located in the heart of NYC, where this group is most active. 🙂 One can only imagine the catastrophe that would have unfolded if that old cinema building near Times Square had been caught in the quake, but FORTUNATELY, a modern mixed-use complex now stands there in honor of NYC. If you ask me, instead of clinging to these so-called precious "cultural assets," I’d leave maybe ten essential buildings for future generations—the MLS team stadium, the facade of Grand Central Terminal, the University of New York pavilion, and a few museums... but everything else? I’d tear it down to the foundation and build something brand new. But hey, I’m rambling. 😁

We're clearly similar. I vote for Toto—not because I like him, but because I hate the alternatives more. I'd give him a 2/3. Not happy with the job, but I was less happy with the guys before him. I grew up in Queens long before Micky knew what a subway was... and I know exactly how he used to skim off the top.

It’s just pointless when every single trash bin becomes a huge deal. This has always happened and always will. Doesn't matter if it's Bloomberg or Eric Adams.

So these current hysterics, where people lose it over 20 grams of misplaced waste, are just pathetic.

Because I remember much bigger waste management issues.

I remember Bloomberg and all his scams and lies.

Just relax, sanitation will pick it up.
And those BM365 types in sanitation will eventually disappear... they never actually worked anyway.

...well, if you had dared to speak your mind like that back in the 20th century, the real question would be whether the two of us would even be typing here right now—at best, we'd be throwing stones at each other in the seaside air. (See? Based on your writing style and what you consume in the media, it's obvious you're a huge fan of that "20th century" era, and so is Eric Adams and most of his inner circle)🤷 It’s truly hard to believe how much taxpayer money is being funneled into promoting the legacy of that "20th century" crowd🤦 It’s only a matter of time before they rename Times Square to "Mirko and Slavko Square," for instance.🤦

...you claim you voted for the lesser of two evils, whereas I voted for "truth"—and I sincerely hope truth wins in the end.👍

...my personal philosophy is quite simple: anyone currently holding office (regardless of their political party) deserves intense political scrutiny until the public feels things are finally right.

...you bring up all these things—partisans, LGBT issues, Pyongyang—and please don't take this personally, I'm merely reflecting what's been reported in the mainstream media, BUT I dare you—or anyone else here—to try and explain one specific phenomenon 🤔 to me. Back in the era of dictators, god knows, and his "inner circle," you weren't allowed to act publicly, criticize the government, be openly LGBT, or even mention a certain local landmark... you'd end up sent straight to Alcatraz or some remote wilderness. 😲 So, how is it possible 😲 that the thread creator and most of his "crew" are out there attending various parties, celebrating the legacy and actions of that dictator and his group (as seen and reported in the news)? 🤦

...the goal was achieved—a little "bone" tossed to the masses, the "old school" way of doing things. Meanwhile, most people here are busy writing long-winded essays about minor details while the "full assembly" is seated. There are still far too many "drummers" out there with their pots and pans who need to be integrated somewhere 🤦, and just as many associations that need to be "taken care of." This isn't some small-time operation anymore; we’re talking about a scale comparable to a platform on an 🤦 aircraft carrier. It’s all much more complicated than just saying "love you" to 000,000,000 🤦 people—think about how many new preschools or other essential city services that money could actually cover... I don't want to cause a misunderstanding here 🤔, but look, utility services are obviously important, but it’s just... well, it’s a broken system when things that should be "normal" and "routine" require such massive debate 🤦. Whenever you criticize the current administration (which right now is Eric Adams and his crew of activists), it really gets under my skin how they constantly try to justify themselves by pointing at what happened in the past. The past doesn't matter; the present and the future are what count 👍. So, why should "King Thomas or Zane" be blamed for the current state of affairs in New York City and the USA 🤦? It’s a strange phenomenon that nobody from this "group" seems to critique the era of the dictators, damn it 🤔. In fact, back in those days, the mountain known as "Jakuševac" first started growing...

...oh, and I almost forgot—if anyone here happens to have a "connection" within Eric Adams' and his crew's circle, please do me a favor and suggest this: when that day finally comes that they actually start building the new football stadium on the site of the old one, starting from the foundations, they MUST design the entire stadium to be shifted as FAR AS POSSIBLE from Maximilian Street. We’re talking a minimum of 30 meters or more toward the South. There is plenty of space behind it, and the current location right next to Maximilian is a total nightmare for traffic, especially when you get 40,000 to 50,000 people converging on the area all at once 🤦

Anyway, how much private sector experience do Frank Urban, the current President, the DNC leader, and all those others actually have? Combined, probably nothing.

In my neighborhood, the sanitation is fine, no issues at all. I don't credit Frank Urban or Eric Adams for it, though; some people just do the job they're paid for. Don't make a big deal out of it.

Though, back when Frank Urban was around, you could say elite sanitation crews had to scrub his street at dawn just so he wouldn't get pissed off and mess with whoever was in charge of cleaning. You know how it is when the emperor decides to go for a jog and the leaves start falling.
