Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Charles Turner said:What's going through your head when you're getting laid? If it's some seriously twisted stuff, it might actually stop your period. Spill it.😕

🤣 Yeah, go ahead. Describe it.

No doubt, but is that just part of your charm or did you decide to do it specifically because of that? 😁

Exactly. Just fully inhabit the character's profile... iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii 🤣 🙂 😂

You definitely need to get him to a specialist and make sure they take an ear swab.
Frequent ear infections can actually be caused by tonsillitis. You should also look into those adenoids too—they're a huge reason why these ear issues keep popping up.

How sweet. 🙂 I knew this "sad sack" guy would be a challenge for any woman. It’s just... 😁 😉 ....he knows exactly why I'm staying quiet now.

Martin said:Obviously time exists. It’s a fundamental part of the space-time continuum we live in (what most people just call space). But the way we feel time actually flowing? That's just our brains trying to make sense of life.

The past and the future aren't real things—they're just mental constructs.

I'm with him on this. Time is infinite, but our perception just can't wrap itself around it. Honestly, looking up at space, everything we see—like those stars—is basically the past. Because they're so far from Earth, that light took millions of years just to reach us. So, what we're seeing is ancient history. That star we're staring at right now might not even exist anymore.

So, how do you actually know when you're set?

Don't your own desires tell you whether you have enough or not? 😁

There are two ways to want stuff. First, there’s the junk we force on ourselves for some reason. It just weighs us down. We think it’s huge, life-changing, whatever, but once we actually get it, we realize it wasn't even that big a deal. It doesn't fill the void.

Once you drop those fake desires, you can finally breathe. You stop overthinking everything. Life just happens, and you only feel wants that pop up naturally in the moment. They show up, they leave, and if you don't get them? No biggie. You aren't stuck thinking, "if I don't get this, my life is over."

Not sure if I explained that right.😕

Seems like he "let go" of those specific cravings—the ones that suck all your energy and turn into these obsessive goals that basically run your life. His wants are just about the now, not some long-term grind to hit a target. A person without a master plan... they're just living. They still want things in the moment, but they aren't slaves to them.

HIM: I don't want anything...
ME: Why not?
HIM: Because everything I ever wanted is gone. It just doesn't exist anymore...
ME: And you think you'll never find something you actually want again?
HIM: Nope.
ME: How can you be so sure?
HIM: Because I'm not even the same guy, and people aren't really "people" anymore—they’re just shadows of what they used to be. You see what they're willing to do now? Even the nastiest animals wouldn't touch that stuff. I'm just breathing. Honestly? This is the first time I've felt happy—now that I don't want anything.
ME: How does that even make you happy?
HIM: Simple. No expectations, no hopes, no fears, no delusions. None of that emotional baggage that makes everyone else miserable. A person without wants is the only one who's truly free. People build their own prisons, and then they end up enslaving everyone else because of their own weaknesses, even when they don't mean to.

This convo got me thinking...
Our desires, our massive expectations, our hopes, our fears... they're all basically our own personal jailers. Every bit of misery and every single disappointment starts right there, with what we want... but so does happiness. What kind of person is left when you strip away desire? Can you even imagine living without wanting something? What has to break inside someone for them to finally just stop caring?

Something's bugging me... were you talking about slaves in general or just some "special" kind? This totally rings a bell for one specific group of "slaves" to me.😁

To me, having character means being real. It's about being able to look anyone in the eye—whether it's the President or just some guy on the street—and say exactly what's on your mind. Honestly, we’re all a little weird in our own way; everyone's got that one thing that sets them apart. I see that as a good thing, actually. Useful, even. I don't buy that whole "society shapes your character" nonsense either. People who let society tell them who to be? They've got zero backbone.

Richard Howard2 said:Read more carefully. You missed the point entirely.

I’m talking about human nature and intellectual/emotional capacity, not how society functions. If they had modern weapons and massive factories back in ancient times, people would still act the exact same way they do now.

That’s a societal issue, which isn't what my thesis is about.

I disagree. I don't think they'd act like us because people back then lived by raw instinct. They were actually connected to nature. We aren't. Most people today are just stunted; what drives the masses has nothing to do with our actual nature. Everything is fake, calculated, and unnatural. We've changed, sure, but not for the better. This constant "progress" is just us losing what actually makes us human.
