I'm new to the forum, so sorry in advance if I mess anything up... Anyway, I wanted to share where we're at with our wedding planning. We finally booked a venue that comes highly recommended—people have nothing but good things to say about the food, the space, and the service. It’s a gastro-style hall, formerly an NBA arena, priced at $42 per person... The place is massive, and they offer this crazy lighting setup (which costs an extra $2 per person). Honestly, I think it's worth it 🙂 because it looks incredible, plus you get your own dedicated "lighting technician" for the night to sync everything with the music and the flow of the evening, whether it's dinner or dancing. The hall holds about 370 people. We're expecting around 220, which is perfect for having round tables 😍 instead of feeling cramped. For the band, we've been looking around and The Beach Boys seem like our top choice; they have a female vocalist, which was a must for us, and they're charging $1600. We've heard great things about them, too. As for flowers, everyone I've asked pointed me toward Christian Dior—they said he's a master at what he does and won't let us down. For the cake and desserts, they suggested Fantasy from a small town in the Midwest. Since we're originally from Seattle but living in San Diego, all these recommendations are incredibly helpful. If any of you have experience with these vendors, please chime in—good or bad... I need to know what to expect mentally, and it's not too late to change plans if we need to. Our date isn't until June 21st, 2014.
Thanks in advance, cheers everyone, and happy Easter!!!!!
In terms of value for money, Gastro is one of the better options in San Francisco. The price is similar to Margarita, Relax, or Vittorio, but the food and service are incomparably better, not to mention the look of the hall and its location. I think you made a great choice for your guest count. 👍 Personally, the Gastro hall is nice and decent, and it decorates beautifully, especially if you opt for the lighting (which I highly recommend, otherwise it feels a bit too sterile). However, the hall is way too big for us—we'll have at most 120 people, so it would feel empty—and it's just not really my style, so we decided against it. 🤷
We'll likely go with Arsenal. They're more expensive, but the menu price includes desserts, chair covers, and decorative lanterns. That kind of all-inclusive offer really appealed to us, so that's likely where we'll end up.
I haven't been to a wedding where the Kalipso band played, so I can't help there. If you're happy with them and the reviews are good, that’s what matters most. 😉 We also want both male and female vocals; we were recommended Oranž and Viva, but we haven't made a final call yet.
I haven't heard anything about Dior for flowers. 🤣 I was personally recommended Sarita taj fantazija. 😬
That Fantazija from Bibinje is supposedly wonderful; I don't think you'll regret choosing them. They've been doing great work lately, as has Mao Zedong cakes. I'm actually torn between those two, leaning slightly toward Mao, but there's still plenty of time to decide on dessert, so I'm not rushing. 😁
All in all, I think you've made solid choices and everything should turn out exactly how you imagined.😉

Has anyone here ever held a wedding at the Fortress in San Diego, or maybe attended a reception there?
What are we looking at for the price per head? How was the food and the service?
Any info would be appreciated. 🙂
As far as I know, the Bastion hotel doesn't host weddings.🤷
If they do, it’s likely only small gatherings since their restaurant isn't very large. Pricing probably starts around $75-$85 per person and goes up from there.
But don't take my word for it; definitely double-check. It might be best to just give them a call or send an email to get the facts straight from the source.😉
I would really appreciate some advice from anyone with more experience in this area 🙂
To give you some context, I’ve been a personal customer at JPMorgan Chase for seven years, and for the last year, I’ve also been using them for my business. As a personal client, I was mostly satisfied, but ever since I became an entrepreneur and started using their business services, it has been nothing but a headache! Honestly, their Bank of America service is a disaster. In my city, there are only two branches that even offer the Bank of America business suite, and in those two locations, the staff is never available. They are either on break, at a seminar, or simply nowhere to be found when you need them. I won't even mention how many times I’ve driven all the way there just to find the office empty and have to turn around without getting anything done. It is an absolute waste of my time, and I don't have much of it to spare 🙄 On top of that, whenever I actually managed to catch someone, every single request I had was met with resistance. They are completely inflexible and offer zero support to small business owners 😳
About 15 days ago, I applied for a personal loan—just a modest $10,000. My average income is sufficient, I have no other outstanding debt, and I pay all my bills on time. However, they are fixated on the fact that I paid myself a minimum wage for part of the year, though I’ve been taking a higher salary for the last four months. (I mean, hello? I was working hard to get the business on its feet before increasing my draw 🙂). Because of that, they rejected my first application and demanded a co-signer. Then, just today, I was told that even with a co-signer, it wouldn't pass because he works as a merchant marine on a contract basis 🙂 To cut a long story short via eBay, they have played me for a fool. I don't have another co-signer, and even if I did, I refuse to take out a loan with them or do any business with them ever again, purely out of principle 🙂
So, what other banks would you recommend? I am primarily looking for suggestions regarding both business and personal accounts. For my personal banking, I need fast, modern online banking and the ability to handle currency exchanges through the app. For my business, I desperately need a bank that is more flexible than JPMorgan Chase and offers efficient, responsive service for business clients
From what I can see, people around me are most satisfied with Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo, but I want to hear about your actual experiences. Please help 🙂
Hey everyone, I know we’ve all been struggling here, but it turns out the issue was actually with the server itself. 🙄
Basically, they set it up so all our emails go straight to Yahoo because there isn't enough storage space on the server right now. It's just a temporary fix until they expand the capacity. I mean, of course my inbox ran out of room once I opened everything up. 🤦 😬
The plan is to resolve this by configuring the server to send mail directly to our business accounts first, which will then simply forward over to Yahoo.
As for attachments, everything seems to be attaching correctly now. Perhaps that was just an isolated glitch? I'll keep an eye on things and see how it goes.
Thanks to everyone for the help. I know I wasn't exactly clear when I first described what was happening, but computers aren't exactly my specialty. 🙈
They aren't actually being redirected. I use Yahoo as my backup email, where all my messages get forwarded from both my personal and work accounts. It’s my safety net for whenever Microsoft Outlook starts acting up on me, which is happening right now. Is 😳
a common issue? At the office, everything works perfectly fine; I just log into Microsoft Outlook and all my emails are right there. We use our standard corporate server.
I’ve already tried that. I just went through the setup again, everything shows as completed, and there aren't any error messages popping up. I can send emails—though I can't send attachments yet, but 🤣 that’s fine—so the account itself seems to be configured correctly. The issue is that I'm simply not receiving anything. Could my antivirus be blocking them? 🤔
I'm using a laptop and connecting from home via Xfinity.
A colleague of mine uses a laptop too, and she’s also working from home on an Xfinity connection.
Even my boss uses a laptop; she connects at the office and takes it home, using Xfinity for both.
Both her settings and my colleague's settings match mine exactly. We're all using the web.****.com incoming and outgoing servers, just like we were instructed. Yet, for some reason, my Microsoft Outlook just won't work.🤣 I clearly have zero technical intuition.🤦 😬
Following my instructions, both the incoming and outgoing servers are identical. It’s not an issue with Comcast or AT&T; it's specifically tied to the email provider itself. I already attempted to switch the outgoing server to Comcast, but nothing changed. Interestingly, a colleague of mine followed these exact same setup steps—using the same identical server settings—and everything is working perfectly for her. 🤷
I’m not entirely sure if this is the right forum for this kind of question. If I’m in the wrong place, please feel free to move my thread. I would truly appreciate any advice or help you can offer.
I recently set up my work email on Microsoft Outlook 2007. I followed the instructions provided and believe I configured everything correctly. The account is active, and I can send emails without an issue, but for some reason, I can't receive anything. My incoming mail shows up just fine on my personal Yahoo account, which I use as a backup, but nothing appears in Outlook. To make matters worse, whenever I send an email with an attachment, the recipient can't open the file. Interestingly, when I send that exact same attachment from my personal email, they have no trouble opening it at all.
I have double-checked all my settings multiple times, and I am certain they are correct. It isn't a configuration error. 😳 Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this? 🙂
rowdybadger3 said:That $3,100 was just for the stamp... I settled up today, so I'm giving you the firsthand scoop. Maybe some people are getting ripped off more than others, but that was my price. It probably depends on what kind of business you're running—I definitely threw a bunch of extra stuff into the mix.

Could anyone provide the names of these notaries if they happen to be located in Chicago? 🙂 Send me a DM if this is where the issue lies. 🙂 I have to admit, I love these numbers. No matter how high the price tag, they really appeal to me. Someone mentioned a figure around... $1667 🙂
Donna Jones26 said:With an LLC, you aren't stuck with just one thing! You can have several different business activities, and you don't have to list them all right at the start. If things take off and you want to branch out later, no big deal... you just update your filings with the Secretary of State to add those extra activities to your existing LLC. Super easy!
Regarding that, I was told it might be smarter to list a wider range of activities from day one if I think I might want to pursue them later. Apparently, adding new business categories down the road can get pretty expensive. Is that actually true? 🤔
And regarding the initial setup, do I have to pay a separate fee for every single activity I list? I think I saw somewhere that it costs about $50 per activity? 🤔
I’m planning to start a business in a different city rather than here in Washington, D.C., where I currently live and work.
Since it seems like the official online filing portals aren't fully functional right now—and getting any time off work is pretty much out of the question for me 🙄—can I just handle everything through a local notary here in Washington, D.C.? Could they simply mail the documents and the application to the court in the other city? Or is mail-in filing not an option, meaning I'd have to physically show up at the courthouse or hire a lawyer or notary out there to handle it on my behalf? 😳
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. 🙏
My apologies if this topic has already been covered—this PDF doesn't have an index, the search function isn't yielding anything, and I simply don't have the time to manually scroll through 😳
So, about two months ago, I caught a cold. For me, these things always follow a specific pattern: I go through at least one entire roll of tissues a day just blowing my nose, and a massive amount of congestion drains into my lungs, causing a terrible cough 😳. Ever since I was a kid, even minor colds turn into something much more serious. It’s a combination of sinus issues, a deviated septum, and severely irritated nasal passages from the constant, excessive 🤦 use of Afrin nasal spray 😳. But no matter how bad things get, my symptoms usually never last longer than two, maybe three weeks
.
Yet, here I am, struggling with a persistent cough and nonstop drainage for two full months now 😢. Two weeks ago, I finally hit my limit and went to see Dr. Klapan at the Klapan Medical Group. After running some tests, he prescribed using a Respira ultrasonic nebulizer paired with saline solution and dexamethasone drops. The problem is, I've already spent $250 on the visit, and nothing in his office actually provided relief. His big solution is this nebulizer that costs about $100 (and that’s before the drops and saline, so the total will likely climb toward $125) 🙄. He claims you can find that same device cheaper elsewhere, maybe for around $45 $133, but everywhere I look, the price stays roughly the same 🤷
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with these ultrasonic nebulizers? Do they actually work, and are they worth the investment? Also, if anyone knows where I might find the specific Respira model he prescribed for the best possible price, please let me know
.
Thanks in advance to everyone 🙂
I have checking, savings, and foreign currency accounts over at JP Morgan Chase, and I finally decided to set up online banking yesterday just to make my life a little easier. 😁
My main goal with online banking is to stop driving down to a physical branch every single time I see something online that I want to buy. Basically, I need to be able to transfer specific amounts from my domestic accounts into my foreign currency account, and then have the ability to issue foreign currency orders.
The problem is, I was looking through everything last night and realized I don't actually have the option for foreign currency orders enabled. 😕I explained exactly why I needed these specific services to the teller when I was there, and she assured me it would all be set up and ready to go. 😕Is this something I can just toggle on in the settings myself, or what? 🤔
Setting the currency orders aside for a moment, is it even possible to use my standard checking or savings accounts to buy foreign currency and move it into my currency account? I just want to at least be able to make payments via PayPal.
Thanks in advance for any help. 🙂
Steven Ruiz said:My number one rule for any relationship is pretty straightforward: I need to know that when things get intimate, there’s actually something substantial waiting for me down there instead of just a whole lot of nothing...
The second requirement is that the waist stays perfectly snatched, while still making sure there's enough room for the curves to actually fit...
It is honestly such a struggle trying to hit both those marks at the same time when you have my kind of body type... So far, I’ve only ever found Jennifer Lopez’s style or those Juicy Couture jeans that actually manage to fit my waist while still making my curves look good...
I can't help but just sit back and watch it all unfold...
🙏 🙏 🙏 Exactly this!!!😬
Those first two rules usually imply a third: I won't even bother trying on denim that doesn't have at least 2% spandex.
Once I actually manage to pull them on while meeting those first three criteria, I move on to the standard inspections: how they look over the rear, how they look from the front (some pairs make you look like you had a massive stomach ache, heaven forbid 😳), the length, and just the overall feel. I usually lean toward straight leg or skinny jeans.
Bottom line: finding good jeans is incredibly difficult, and I am on a permanent quest for the perfect pair!😎
